No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 105 - 103: Doing Whatever One Pleases [3rd Update]
Chapter 105: Chapter 103: Doing Whatever One Pleases [3rd Update]
Liam’s idea of settling scores is to take Maya’s account for calling people randomly. He clearly expressed that he doesn’t like Abigail, yet this girl keeps pushing him into others’ arms, calling her ’Third Sister-In-Law’ consistently. Isn’t that little mouth in need of discipline?
If it weren’t for the many prying eyes, he’d really be unceremonious, bite her a few times as punishment.
Listening to the man’s threat, Maya immediately grinned and said, "Third Brother, enjoy yourself, have fun." She finished speaking, pulled away Liam’s hand, and ran off.
After leaving Liam, Maya felt a wave of relaxation both physically and mentally, and the charity event officially began.
While others were busy donating money, Maya sat by the bar, drinking juice alone, disconnected from the bustling scene in front of the stage.
Yet a sense of unease persistently lingered, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was going to happen.
"Miss Spencer, you’re so charming. Tonight, you’ve truly become the leading lady of the banquet." Suddenly, a woman’s voice came from the bar.
Maya looked up to find that it was Henry’s fiancée, Sienna Carter. She took a deep breath and thought, troubles really do come one after another.
Seeing the woman’s angry and disdainful gaze, Maya nonchalantly looked her up and down and coldly replied, "You’re too kind!"
The woman, seeing Maya’s icy demeanor, was seething, wishing she could throw her drink onto Maya’s face, shouting that she was a vixen, shameless.
However, mindful of her status and Liam’s care for Maya, she dared not act rashly, swallowed her anger, and tried to ask calmly, "May I ask, what is your relationship with my fiancé, Henry Reid?"
The woman, thinking about Henry bidding for her opening dance, was grinding her teeth in anger, her hand shaking with the glass, yet didn’t dare do anything to Maya.
Hearing the young woman’s question, Maya glanced at her, nonchalantly saying, "Keep a tight rein on him; we have no relationship. If you can’t control him, who knows what might happen."
Maya has always had a sharp tongue, fearless of anyone. If someone provoked her, she wouldn’t be polite. It’s just verbal sparring, after all. Nothing difficult about it.
Meanwhile, she uttered these words merely to provoke Sienna, making her increasingly resentful toward herself, watching Henry closely, to avoid troubles. She was indeed tired of dealing with them.
As expected, the woman’s face turned pale from anger, laughing icily, saying, "Miss Spencer, you’re impressively crafty and shameless, no wonder even the young master can’t control you. Don’t think you can do as you please just because you’re pretty. I won’t give you any chance."
"Thank you for the compliments. I believe in your abilities." Faced with the young woman’s scolding, Maya was utterly unfazed; a few harsh words wouldn’t harm her.
Moreover, she realized why Liam had bid for her opening dance and purposely acted intimately with her earlier. Without such acts, Sienna probably wouldn’t have let her off easily. Seeing the woman’s fierce eyes, it was clear she wasn’t a kind person, and without Liam, tonight she might have been thrown into the sea. Liam was supporting her, signaling to everyone she was under his protection.
However, the young woman got a taste of Maya’s brazen spirit, viewing her nonchalant demeanor made her feel that she was overthinking; she shouldn’t have talked to her and made herself uncomfortable.
Therefore, after a few rounds of verbal sparring, she left in a huff. The bar was once again left with only Maya.
As time ticked by, Maya began feeling dizzy, her vision became blurry, everything seemed foggy, a feeling both familiar and uncertain.
Until she felt a heat surge in her body did she realize she’d fallen into a trap, drugged yet again.
Maya took a deep breath, desperately trying to keep her eyes open, slid down from the high chair, and made her way along the wall toward her room.
Unable to suppress the anger in her heart, thinking, Elia, that bitch, went as far as to kneel to drug her, acting so pitifully genuine.
Maya was almost certain that it was after drinking Elia’s tea that this happened. After that cup of tea, she had only half a glass of juice, and the time since drinking the juice wasn’t long enough for the drug to take effect.
Besides, the bartender had no grievance with her, nor any reason to harm her, plus Liam’s care for her was widely known, who would dare touch her casually, except for Hannah and her mother? Who else?
Struggling with her weak body, she managed to reach her room door, fumbled for the keys in her pocket, only to find the door tampered with, and it wouldn’t open no matter what.
For a moment, panic engulfed Maya, biting her lip as she tried to control her emotions, urging herself not to lose her rationality too quickly.
At this moment, she was furious enough to want to kill Elia, yet lacked even the strength to walk.
That despicable girl, to use such sneaky tactics repeatedly, next time she’d make sure Elia tastes this heaven and hell sensation, leaving her unable to stand.
She struggled with the door for a moment, to no avail. Remembering the previous time she was drugged sent chills down her spine; if she couldn’t enter the room and the drug took effect publicly, what would she do then? Just the thought was frightening, realizing Hannah and her mother were vicious enough to tamper with her room door.
Maya took a deep breath, swallowed, striving to control her emotions, supporting her body, gradually moving toward the deck.
She wanted to catch some wind, hoping it would clear her mind a bit.
Originally, she intended to find Sister Jane to borrow a room, but the banquet hall was too crowded, and she hadn’t brought her phone; she feared that before finding Sister Jane, she’d be abducted by someone with ill intentions, which would outweigh any gains.
Thus, opting to go to the deck, find a quiet corner, and hide for a while until the drug wore off.
When she reached the deck, she was entirely powerless. She didn’t dare stand up for fear of losing her footing and falling into the sea, her corpse sinking into the ocean.
To be killed by Hannah and her mother like this was unacceptable to her. Naturally, she had to persist, clutching the railing, kneeling still on the ground. As her consciousness dimmed, she gritted her teeth, forcefully hit her head against the railing, striving to stay awake.
Meanwhile, in the banquet hall, the charity auction continued, no one realized that Maya had suddenly disappeared, didn’t notice her falling victim to a plot.
Right then, Sienna tapped Lillian in front of her, beckoning with her finger, saying, "Young Master Morris, I saw Miss Spencer on the deck earlier, she’s not feeling well, sitting uncomfortably on the deck, shouldn’t you go check on her?"
Listening to Sienna’s words, Lillian frowned, looking at her, said, "What does this have to do with me?"
Sienna, seeing this, hurriedly grabbed Lillian, saying, "Young Master Morris, look, Third Young Master is sitting at the chief seat, I can’t conveniently go, Henry is my fiancé, I have personal feelings, that’s why I informed you, whether you want to check on her, is up to you!"
