No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1899 Hayes Edwards Extra (56)
It’s just that others say Grace Winter is just a little sidekick for Hayes Edwards, but Hayes actually hates her.
But now...
The boy is a bit anxious, "Calling me?"
Hayes puts his hands in his jacket pockets, "Just you."
The boy is quite afraid of Hayes, dawdling to the classroom door before Hayes wraps an arm around his shoulder and leads him away, "Let’s talk."
Talk about what?
Once the two walk further away, Grace Winter finally snaps out of it. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Helena is excited beside her, "Grace, Hayes is definitely standing up for you!"
Whether or not he’s standing up for her, Grace doesn’t know, but the boy never missed a homework submission again.
And because he skipped too many questions, the teacher called him out several times.
When she got home at night, Grace Winter kept following behind Hayes Edwards, looking down at the road.
Walking ahead, Hayes suddenly stopped, so she stopped too and looked up.
"Bullied but didn’t know how to report it?" Hayes said, looking cold and fierce.
Grace Winter first smiled, seeing his expression unchanged, cautiously put away her smile, "I don’t want to trouble others."
Hayes doubted what he heard, not feeling amused, only angry, but not knowing what to say, he could only say, "Are you stupid!"
"I..." Grace Winter lowered her head and spoke softly, "Maybe."
She seemed to not be very smart.
This time Hayes was truly amused, after all, why bicker with a "little fool". Though he didn’t want to admit it, they barely counted as childhood friends.
"If anyone bullies you in the future, come find me, got it?" he said.
Grace Winter looked at him, nodded, her voice sweet and with a hint of laughter, "Okay."
Hayes scoffed, "Afraid to trouble others, yet not afraid to trouble me."
He said it quietly.
After saying it, he turned and walked away.
Grace Winter quickly followed in his footsteps.
The second semester of sixth grade, the school organized another spring outing.
Unlike before, this time the outing allowed fifth and sixth graders to barbecue at a BBQ site, this thrilled the students.
Barbecuing meant they had to prepare the ingredients themselves in advance.
As soon as the news was announced during the first break, everyone began gathering to discuss.
According to the teacher’s requirements, they needed to form groups of six to nine people.
Hayes usually had no interest in these things, but Big Ralph was very proactive, quickly gathering some boys they usually played with.
The barbecue news for fifth and sixth grade spread to other grades too.
Helena, eating snacks, said, "Why can’t our fourth grade be included, just a bit short!"
Grace Winter comforted her, "It’s okay, next year it’ll be our turn."
"True enough." Helena was quickly reassured, "But since this time several grades are going to the same place for the outing, we can find Big Ralph and his group to grab some food."
Thinking like this, Helena pulled Grace Winter up to the fifth floor after school in the afternoon.
Sixth graders dismiss a bit later than them.
It takes a few minutes to walk from the classroom building to the school gate, during which Helena kept talking to Big Ralph about the barbecue on Friday.
Helena’s idea was for her and Grace to also provide ingredients, and have Big Ralph and his group help grill; then they’d send over a portion to them.
Because it’s a barbecue, the school should keep a strict watch.
