No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1686: Arnold Simmons Extra (52)
From noon today until now, along with a few hours last night, I still couldn’t finish this weekend’s homework.
The class group chat is quite active, and everyone is talking about not finishing their homework.
However, most are just saying they won’t do it while actually writing fervently.
Emily Jones is one of the most vivid examples of this.
——I definitely won’t do it!
——Since the time the papers were handed out I knew I couldn’t finish, so I didn’t even bring the homework home.
——No really, I was always like this; as long as you pay attention during class it’s fine.
Some actually believed her words and responded in agreement.
Hannah just watched and didn’t say anything.
After a while, she received a message from Tessa Thompson.
——Hannah, have you done your homework?
Hannah looked at her own papers, still having a bit more than half left, and replied.
——I did; I have two more math sheets, and three more Chinese sheets left.
The papers handed out by the school are also differentiated in size, with large papers being the usual monthly test size, and small papers consisting of questions made by the school teachers, usually only one page each.
Although the page counts are low, because the questions are tricky and answers can’t be found online, it still takes quite a bit of time to do them.
When Tessa Thompson saw Hannah’s message, she wailed without a tear.
——Hannah, how do you write so fast? I still haven’t finished more than half of it! Emily said in the group chat she didn’t take her homework home, but I clearly saw her rushing to do it during last Friday’s evening revision!
Tessa Thompson really can’t understand the mentality of people who clearly study but pretend not to.
Emily had done this more than once before.
Yet every time, there are classmates who believe her words and genuinely skip doing their homework.
After chatting for a while more, Hannah consoled Tessa Thompson for a few sentences, then went off to continue working on her homework.
No matter if she finished or not, at least trying to write it was good.
Before leaving the phone’s interface, Hannah noticed that Arnold Simmons had changed his profile picture.
It had changed from the previous picture of a black dog sitting on a trunk and grinning foolishly to a picture of Little White.
The one given to them by the store clerk this morning.
He spoke as if he disliked it and found it childish, but actually...
Hannah couldn’t help but laugh.
After thinking about it, she also changed her profile picture.
It was also taken by herself, a little girl in a white dress dancing, complementing the picture of Little White.
After changing it, she clicked back into her chat with Arnold Simmons and sent him a message, "Have you done your homework?"
After sending the message, she checked the time, thinking he might have already been asleep so she put down her phone.
But the next second, he replied, "Nope."
Hannah didn’t press further, switching to a different topic, "What are you doing now?"
"Sleeping." Arnold Simmons put down his pen and moved his slightly stiff neck, the dim, yellow light of the room brightening his profile and a gentle smile spreading across his eyes.
"Can you reply to a message while sleeping?"
"Hmm, I’m sleepwalking."
Not a single word was serious.
Hannah was leaning on the desk when she saw a gift box placed to one side; the box also had drawings of a little girl and Little White.
Thinking about the avatar change, she edited her message anew.
But just when she was about to send it, she chose to delete it.
So, from Arnold Simmons’ side, all he could see was the prompt "The other party is typing..." but after a long while, no message came through.
"What exactly do you want to..." say.
The words weren’t complete when Hannah’s message came through.
