No One Will Ever Hurt You Again I Promise-Chapter 52: Mother hen
While everyone else is petrified and doesn’t say a word, El continues to rage like a dangerous madwoman. They’ve never seen him talk so much, but what bothers him is the fact that he can’t give Maryse back her own coin.
Although she is the mother of the twins, that would not have prevented him from making her understand she should never rub shoulders with him and his friend.
He feels outraged by the act of this woman, who, they say, embodies a kind of perfect model for others. And here she is, losing her composure and control in a childish quarrel between kids. She didn’t even try to understand before acting like a fool, an illiterate, a nobody.
"If your money makes you think you’re superior and above others, know that today that doesn’t define someone, but I think you already know that because you’re way too old to let me teach you this lesson."
El continues to bark aggressively as if he were the person who had received those pesky slaps, which echoed through the office like a lousy drum. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
He’s sensitive to his face. He can fight like a hooligan until death by receiving lots of punches in his face. But he does not accept that anyone, no matter who this person is, takes malicious pleasure in slapping him and getting by easily after that. He even has murderous impulses when he only thinks of such an idea.
Howie suddenly got up from the chair. The wolf was howling in his head like the damned. He demanded revenge, and he insisted that this act of disrespect be paid for by the person who committed it.
Head on fire, Howie staggered to his feet as his inner rage grew even more significant, making him dizzy and his vision blurred.
He knew his nerves were on edge since he found out the boys lost their bond because of him, and now his bad mood is only getting worse with what Maryse has done. That is why he didn’t want to listen to the discussion of the meeting.
Nobody dares touch the face of a royal family member, let alone venture to slap them. Unless you had a death wish or that hand was itchy, you wanted to get rid of it forever, but you’re too afraid to do it yourself.
And unless this person is someone he considers and accepts intimate gestures from him, such as touching his face, but everyone knows it, nobody has the right to look them in the eye.
It is even worse to dare to raise your hand in front of them or threaten them. Maryse slapped him as if he were a commoner, the third man in the world, under his classmates’ petrified gaze and principal.
When he finds his balance, he clenches his fists and straightens to his full height, his eyes flaming with anger, which he tries somehow to hold back so as not to let his inner turn bright red. His size surprises Maryse, who takes a step back to distance herself from him.
"Mr. Hucklebury!" whispered Celine under her breath. She felt like she’d never seen him so tall. Her voice reached H’s ears like a prayer like he heard the crowd imploring him to let go of Theo when he hanged him during the incident.
He scanned the room, lingering a little on each occupant indistinctly. They all had a single expression: an expression of fear.
Then he returns to Maryse, who alone stares at him with hostility and disdain. His right arm moved involuntarily, clenching his fist even more firmly before it started shaking like a leaf.
He is fighting two urges and impulses: to deflect her head from the rest of her body in one go and the desire to send her flying, crashing against the wall at the other end of the room, with a backhand like old, dirty, smelly socks.
He hates to see dirty things lying around or even more old socks. This pisses him off, which is why everything is in order and spotless in his room and house. Everything is spotlessly clean.
With his clenched fists, he fights against his desires to let his bloodthirsty inner self, which demands respect and obedience, take over and go wild.
"I’m sorry," whispers a small voice he knows only too well. " I’m sorry for all this. This woman is the one who answers to the name of our mother, Maryse Morgenstern. " Aike intervenes, watching the scene in front of him with fear in his stomach.
These few times with Howie taught him many things about the latter and what he could stand from others and not.
He knows getting slapped is far from a passion for him, and it’s not something he’ll let pass without correcting it for someone like his mother or no matter who crosses that line.
Right now, he’s clearly pissed off at his mother.
He sees it in how he moves his head and the shades of color his eyes take on. He knows that his mother would do anything to destroy him because when she has someone in her sight until she finishes him off, she won’t leave him alone.
If he doesn’t say something to soothe his anger before it’s too late, he risks being expelled from school and having a lawsuit on his back for assault.
For his part, El continues to rage, unable to calm down. God only knows what he would have done if this story only concerned him. He would undoubtedly have put aside, for a split second, the education he received to do justice to his beautiful face.
Theo approached him to calm him down because he needed him to intervene to help Howie calm down, as he did at their house with his pheromone.
Still, this one was so angry with Maryse that he completely forgot who he was dealing with. And things can turn into a nightmare if he continues to bray like this without taking a break and thinking twice.
"Why don’t you help him there?" And, "I think we better get him out of here before he explodes," Theo whispers to him, who approaches him gently.
El seems unaware of his presence, so he tugs at his sleeve to get his attention. That’s when El realizes he is close to him, and even way too close. He jumps a little, stepping aside. Theo looks him up and down before rolling his eyes, then whispers again what he had said before.
This time, he jumped even more when he realized his lack of tact. "Shit," he said, "Thank you for reminding me."
" This vermin has completely pissed me off. I don’t know who she thinks she is, but these behaviors don’t work for me. There was a flaw in her upbringing. She needs to think about it seriously. "
"It’s okay. We get it by now. "You’ve shouted it many times," Theo replies, rolling his eyes, "now get to work before the impossible becomes possible."
He went to retort, but he glared at him instead and closed his mouth, concentrating on his pheromone, and he noticed the tremor in Howie’s muscles.
"Shit, shit, we have to get him out of here." It’s already too late. He won’t be able to hold himself back if we leave him here. "
"We need to take him to the locker room." "I think a cold bath will help him," El shouted to Theo. And without being asked, Theo grabbed H’s sleeve and dragged him towards the door, Bravael on their heels while using his pheromone to the maximum.
The twins, Maryse and Celine, are all surprised by the three who have just left the room at full speed without asking permission to leave.
The twins cast concerned glances at each other, asking silent questions. Celine, for her part, would not have held them back after what Maryse did. They were about to head for the exit when their mother finally spoke.
"Where were you planning to go like this?" She asks them in a rugged, cold tone... "Somewhere far away from you, as you might notice," replies Ayke in the same damn tone she used with them.
Celine put her right hand against her forehead, closing her eyes. She took a deep breath and smiled before turning to them to speak.
"Well, what if we calm down a bit here, hm? Please sit down; I need to talk to you. "
"We don’t want to sit down," the twins chorus together, glancing hard at their mother, who holds their gaze unblinkingly as if defying them.
"You stormed into my office uninvited." You slapped one of my students in front of our eyes without showing respect for those there. Yes, your family is one of the most influential members of the administration. Still, nothing and no one gives you the right to come here and hit one of my students. "
"That boy you slapped is one of the best students whom the school has recruited into its midst throughout its history." "Are you going to stop staring at them and act like an adult, Maryse, for God’s sake? "
"That boy you slapped is in no way responsible for what happened here." And the real culprit is walking calmly or watching your boys’ slightest actions and gestures to make stupid montages that only you would be able to give meaning to before even asking questions or trying to understand. "
"And you know why, because everyone here knows how obsessed you are with your position, and this story, mixed with your obsession with being in control, makes you a thoughtless person. So he’s playing you. "
"Celine, it’s not because your parents built this school that you think you can afford to talk to me in any tone you like." You should know that with one word from me, your position here may be very delicate, so I advise you not to press the button too much because you risk losing big in this game. "
"Do you hear yourself speak at least?" I wonder if you are really the mother of these beautiful, adorable children because, my dear, they are nothing like you; fortunately, Lucian has an excellent genetic heritage; otherwise, I don’t know what this town would have been like if these boys were like you. "
Maryse let out a little nervous laugh. She knows that Celine has always been like this since they were classmates. She always says what she thinks without thinking about the consequences, and if the results are severe, well, she doesn’t care either way because she always defends what is right.
She has always been straightforward, just like Maryse has always been frustrated, hysterical, stressed, and a thorn for her classmates.
They all wondered what Lucian saw in her when they saw them together; only her minions followed her everywhere and worshiped her like a queen or a goddess, and Jules was one of them.
The boys followed with interest the small exchange between their mother and Celine in a two-seater armchair not far from the door, as they refused to sit down when Celine asked them nicely.
"I thought she was much more terrifying." "It seems our principal knows how to put her in her place," Ayke whispers to his brother. "Yeah, it looks like she found her cork."
Then they smile devilishly, even if they only have one desire in mind at the moment: to find Howie. But that doesn’t prevent them from savoring the show.
"What happened here?" shouted an angry voice from the doorstep. "What else have you done, Maryse?" What is this story again? Have you lost your mind, woman?"
’Huh, but it’s dad’s voice.’ Think of the boys without turning towards the door; ’what is he doing here?’
"Father!" they shouted together as they got up from the chair.
"My boys, you are there. How could you have let your mother act so disrespectfully with your friend? Celine, how could this happen on your watch?"
" Look at this. Someone is playing with you; your love for gossip and this need to show that you have everything under control will cost you a lot. How dare you do that? Now there’s a video of you floating around the net. Fortunately, I was able to intercept it quickly, but who knows who saw it?"
He showed the video to his sons, who came to take the device from his hands. They watched the images scroll by as their mother slapped Howie twice without the others being able to react.
"If it was your child and someone dared to raise a hand on him, how would you react, Maryse?" And now many people know what kind of person you are, an adult who uses violence to settle disputes between kids. "
"Where is Howie? He asked his boys close to him. "I have to apologize to him."
"He went out with the others. They probably took him to get some air. "
"Oh well, you know his name too." And why didn’t you come and handle this story on your own, Lucian, huh? I had to leave my business to take everything in hand. Aren’t you the man of the house? "
"Of course, I know his name." He is my son’s friend. But who exactly asked you to take everything in hand? It’s a fight between teenagers, things that happen all the time. It was nothing serious if Celine hadn’t asked us to come. "
"You know, that boy you just slapped is the one who’s been transporting the boys all this time because you decided to teach them a good lesson so they could understand that you’re in charge."
"Why don’t you think twice when you have to do extreme things, Maryse?" Why did you think of his parents or the people who could see you? "
"You can go find your friend." I need to talk to your mother and Celine privately about adult things. And forgive me for all that. I’m sorry that you had to go through this kind of embarrassing thing."
"Don’t worry, dad. We think we understand, but it won’t be easy to talk to H afterward. He hates people touching his face, and she has done something irreparable for him."
Then, they left the office and closed the door tightly behind them; this time, there was no way another video of their parents would end up on the net, especially not of their father.
"Why do all of you care about this boy’s feelings? What does he like or dislike, how to talk to him, and such? Why all the drama around him? He’s just a nobody who was lucky enough to attend an elite school. And since when do you interfere in my affairs with the boys?"
Asks an offended Maryse. Her dear husband dared to defend a poor stray boy in front of his children and Celine instead of supporting her action.
"Maryse, you’re no longer a school girl acting like a bully, hoping everyone will work out what you think. Today, we’re adults, so it’s time for you to consider all this and act accordingly. So give our children time to provide us with a hard time from time to time instead of us giving it to them. "
Celine laughed loudly, listening to Lucian scolding his wife as if she were a child.
"I really can’t take it anymore." I want my children to be close to me, as I was to my parents at their age. Okay, sure, I wasn’t always obedient, but it was a step, and they needed time to get through theirs too. Stop pressuring them and making them think they are perfect; they are not, and no one is, not even you, honey. "
"Hi, Celine!" Lucian greeted her as if he had just seen her. "I’m really sorry for what happened. Don’t worry; I’ll manage to apologize in person to the parents of this young man."
Maryse walked away from them in bad faith. She still hadn’t understood what was happening and what she had done wrong.
Her husband, the one she calls hers, who is always by her side and supports all her projects, has humiliated her in public in front of strangers and her ungrateful sons.
She broods in her head, throwing hateful glances at Lucian, who is discussing it with Celine. Celine seems to have taken great pleasure in following the exchange between Lucian and his wife, who no longer uttered a single word when she understood that she was alone for the rest of this fight.
"What could be special about this little runt to make everyone consider him and that even my husband dared to take his defense instead of mine? What could I have missed, huh?"
This is how the summons, which initially should serve as a kind of warning and a way for Celine to discover who is behind the hacking of the surveillance cameras, turns into a real comedy in bad taste.
Suddenly, the group punishment she had sworn to give them if they did not cooperate flew away because Maryse showed up unexpectedly. Like an absolute madwoman, she slapped one of her students, filmed by who knows who, which led to Lucian’s improvisational presence on the scene lecturing his wife like a child.
"What could happen the worst during the day that could surprise me?" She asked with a sigh as she took a seat behind her desk; she needed to collect her thoughts after the Morgensterns left before finding the boys to have a quick talk with them to at least wrap up the meeting.
