Nightmare Assault-Chapter 474: Destroyed

“Blind Zheng, you are getting more and more shameless recently.” The guard pulled Blind Zheng to a corner. This place was secluded. It was a rain shelter. “Why would you drink when you knew I’m on duty today?” The guard felt annoyed. Thankfully, someone notified him. If his superior noticed this before he did, he would be in trouble.

To the guard’s surprise, Blind Zheng, who would normally apologise, appeared to change into a different person. He turned away from him, speechless as he watched the rain. The rain poured. The darkness was like the sea. It suffocated him. A few seconds later, the guard swallowed nervously.

“Why are you acting?” The guard raised his leg and kicked Blind Zheng’s ass lightly. However, the guard’s face dropped. The kick was light. After all, they were close. He just wanted to teach him a lesson. Based on his experience, the kick wouldn’t hurt Blind Zheng. At most, it would make him stumble. Then, it would be over.

However, this time, it felt like he had kicked an iron plate. Blind Zheng didn’t move. The next second, the last thing the guard saw was Blind Zheng turning his head around 180 degrees. A pair of hateful eyes glared at him. In extreme fear, the guard lost his ability to think. He didn’t have the chance to escape.

After a violent tremble, his arms raised uncontrollably. His left arm grabbed the top of his head, and his right the chin. Then, there was a quick twist.

A flash of lightning crossed the night. A figure collapsed into the pool of water, creating a great crash.

After returning to Room 209, Jiang Cheng was normal, but Cao Yang was still recovering. The others sighed in relief.

Jiang Cheng scanned the room. Other than Kui Yi and Du Feng, everyone else was there. “Where are they?” Jiang Cheng asked.

“They went out.” Yu Yu explained, “We discovered some new clues. They went to verify them.”

Lin Wan ‘Er offered him a cup of warm water. If this were someone else, Jiang Cheng wouldn’t accept it, but he was familiar with Lin Wan ‘Er. The water wouldn’t be poisoned. After taking a few sips, Jiang Cheng felt better.

Cao Yang explained to the group what they had experienced. When the group heard that the ghost had disguised itself to drink with them as Blind Zheng, Weiwei and Wang Changguo paled. This was out of their expectation.

Cao Yang then revealed that he had found the real Blind Zheng's corpse inside the red cupboard. The corpse was buried under the clothes. His face was frozen in fear. His eyes bulged. He didn’t want to take a closer look. He didn’t find an apparent wound or smell blood. Therefore, Blind Zheng was probably scared to death. Cao Yang didn’t bring up the guard, and Jiang Cheng understood.

Jiang Cheng sat on the bed. He glanced at Lin Wan ‘Er and then Yu Yu, “What clues did you find?”

“After you guys left, we explored the hospital and found the archives,” Yu Yu whispered. “It was a very special room. It was large with one front door and one back door. However, the front door was sealed. Only the back door was accessible. Of course, the door was locked, but…” Yu Yu glanced at Lin Wan ‘Er beside her. The woman unlocked the door with her hairpin. Jiang Cheng nodded, encouraging her to continue.

“We searched the place chronologically. We tried files from a decade ago, but we couldn’t find anything. Eventually, he spotted a black envelope hidden in the corner. We opened it. It was as you expected. The incident happened 18 years ago.

“Room 624. After the woman was murdered, the staff responsible for Room 624 was sent away with different reasons.”

“The files have the records of the staff who have left. After we came back here, Kui Yi tried to call them.” Yu Yu paused. Then, she uttered urgently, “But… they are dead!”

Cao Yang asked, “Who died?”

“All of them.” Yu Yu looked nervous. “There were four people responsible for Room 624: a psychiatrist from the psychiatry department, an intern doctor and a male caretaker.”

Cao Yang thought about it. “Wait. That’s only three people. Who is the last one?”

Yu Yu shook her head. “We don’t know.”

Cao Yang frowned. He didn’t seem to understand Yu Yu.

“Was the report of the last person destroyed?” Jiang Cheng asked.

“Yes.” Yu Yu answered. “The page about this person was torn out.”

Jiang Cheng scratched his chin. “It’s the woman in Room 906. She used to be a nurse.” Then, he added, “The patient was a woman, so there had to be at least one female nurse.”

“Of the four, all the men died. The only woman went insane.” Lin Wan ‘Er tossed her hair and raised her brow. “It looks like this ghost hates men more.”

Yu Yu’s expression shifted. Even Weiwei didn’t look so good. Wang Changguo’s eyes twitched. Jiang Cheng was already used to Lin Wan ‘Er’s habits. He had been through worse.

“The files ended with…” Yu Yu swallowed with difficulty. After a long time, she raised her head. “When the woman died, she was pregnant.”
