Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 372: Abyssal God: We are both the end and beginning of endless reality
"To think we would meet this soon."
The Abyssal God spoke slowly. His voice did not just travel through the air; it resonated within the very fabric of the void, sounding like the grinding of tectonic plates and the whispers of a billion lost souls simultaneously.
He looked at Grey with an expression of absolute, terrifying indifference.
"A clone?" Grey asked, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully as he analyzed the entity before him.
"Of course. If my true body were to descend here, this entire Lower World Cluster would instantly collapse under the weight of my existence. I am a being that a single universe can no longer contain."
At the same time, seemingly having sensed the spike in Grey’s energy, the Abyssal God chuckled. The sound distorted the space around them, causing ripples in the darkness.
"No need to be alarmed. You can stop gathering your World-Breaking Source Power. I am not here as your enemy today."
"You are nothing but a mortal right now. If I wanted to, I could have already erased your existence before a single synapse in your brain fired."
Hearing this, Fragment spoke softly in Grey’s mind, its voice trembling.
"What is happening, Grey? Why is the God of the Abyss, the Great Evil of the Endless Reality, calling you his rival?" Fragment asked in confusion and disbelief.
"Like I would know," Grey replied internally.
Then, he eyed the Abyssal God, who was currently sending every instinct Grey possessed—as a God, a Dragon, and a Abyssal Lord—into absolute danger mode.
"You just called me your rival. Were you aware of my existence?"
"Of course," the Abyssal God said, a faint, dark smile playing on his lips. "In fact, Tian Yuan knows about your existence, too. When you both battled on the Blue Star, he simply overlooked you because you were too weak to even be considered one of us. And because he was using a mere projection while you had not yet awakened it."
"Tian Yuan?" Grey’s expression became even more strange.
"You look confused," the Abyssal God observed, his eyes—which were swirling vortexes of darkness—boring into Grey. "But that is only natural. However, you should have already seen the signs of it."
"Such as tearing a hole in the River of Fate whenever you make a move."
Grey’s heart stirred when he heard this.
"You must have noticed that you possess abilities that normal entities do not. The ability to see through Fate and then change it without any karmic repercussions."
"You, Grey Lockhart, were initially destined to die. But you overcame even that absolute certainty and now stand before me."
"You, who defies the logic of the heavens, are a Fateless One."
"There is a reason why you were able to comprehend the Myriad Laws of Chaos so easily."
"And tell me, what is the first ability of that Law?"
"Possibility," Grey replied absent-mindedly.
He wasn’t paying full attention to the conversation anymore because something inside him was stirring uncontrollably.
Boom!
Something that was sealed away deep within the shackles of his soul shattered. A divine, colorless radiance tore through the dark sky of the Abyssal dimension.
[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By realizing that you are a Fateless One, you have successfully awakened your True Physique.]
Within minutes, knowledge flooded Grey’s mind. He understood his abilities as a Fateless One.
Then, the Abyssal God’s voice rang out once more, cutting through the radiant light.
"Congratulations. You have escaped the eyes of Heavenly Workings and Divination. Now, no one—including me—will be able to divine or see through your existence anymore. You are a ghost in the machine of reality."
As the radiant light dispersed, Grey stood in the void, staring intently at the Abyssal God.
"Just to be clear, I don’t owe you anything... Az###th."
As soon as Grey uttered those words, reality itself glitched. A chaotic static noise overwhelmed the area as the world itself forcibly masked the True Name of the Abyssal God, which Grey now understood.
Even Fragment didn’t catch it. The name was simply too heavy for a lesser being to perceive.
"I would have awakened this physique eventually on my own," Grey added, a confident smile forming on his face.
It all finally made sense to him.
What he was, and what his role was in the grand scheme of things.
"I did not mention it because I want you to owe me a favor," the Abyssal God replied.
"We are enemies." The Abyssal God’s expression went cold, dropping the temperature of the void to absolute zero.
"But Remember this, we are both the End and the Beginning of the Endless Reality."
"There is nothing above us in this reality. Only us three—Me, You, and Tian Yuan—have a spot reserved to transcend the Higher Planes and the Heavenly Dao itself to enter the Ascendant Domain."
"When that time arrives, only one of us will be left to tell the tale."
"With your awakening, that time draws near."
"Our battle was fated," the Abyssal God added with a tone of deep irony. "Ironic, isn’t it? We are the Fateless Ones, beings who exist outside the script, yet we are destined to battle in the final act."
"Grow stronger, Grey. I hold nothing but indifference toward the immortals in the Higher Planes. They are ants. Only you and Tian Yuan can give me a worthy battle."
As he said that, his form began to flicker like a dying flame. "I will allow you to leave here today."
"I have no interest in crushing a weak enemy."
"What I want is a being that can stand next to me in terms of power."
"Next time we meet, there will be no act of mercy."
With that said, the clone dispersed into mist, fading away as if it had never existed in the world to begin with.
"What the hell was that?" Fragment revolved around him frantically.
"Don’t worry too much about it." Grey stared at the empty abyss around him, his eyes sharp.
"Let’s go back to the Azure Origin Planet."
Grey’s figure flickered across outer space, tracing his path back to the portal that still hung above the planet Modred once owned.
He crossed over without hesitation. On the way, he started severing the connection.
It was relatively easy. This portal was opened using World-Breaking Source Power. He just needed to extract the residing power from the rift, and the structural integrity of the tunnel would collapse.
After crossing over, Grey snapped his fingers.
Snap!
The Devourer of Chaos activated. He immediately cut off the connection with the portals above the sky, causing the rifts to seal shut, isolating the Azure Origin Planet once more.
As soon as he materialized back in the air, the Northern Continent’s Expert appeared before him.
"Welcome back, Lord."
The Northern Continent Expert greeted him with visible fear etched across her face.
This man had just come back from the realm of demons!
It was clear from his aura that he had destroyed everything on the other side before returning!
It was genuinely too scary to even think about what he had achieved.
"How is the process of spreading the Path going?" Grey asked, ignoring her fear.
"It is going great, Lord," she replied hastily, bowing her head. "Everyone saw your display of power, especially your ascension to newer heights and how you easily handled the army of demons."
"Almost everyone has become interested in becoming an Aether Warrior."
"Not bad," Grey replied with a satisfied smile. "Well, that makes it easier for me."
With that said, he looked down at the layer beneath the azure origin planet.
There were many energy veins running below the surface of the Azure Origin Planet. And they were all connected to the core in the center of the planet.
