Chapter 617: Coco’s favorite fruits

After her brief discussion with the guildmaster, Coco quickly excused herself from him and left the guild, wasting no time to go back home where her mother and husbands are waiting.

Once she walked through the front door, she was immediately greeted by the sight of Heiren rushing inside the kitchen with Kairo trailing behind him.

"Hurry! These kinds of fruit need to be taken off the tree!" The garden fairy’s voice reached Coco’s ears, the worry and urgency evident in her tone, and it was coming from the kitchen.

"What do you call this?" Came another familiar voice, which Coco recognized as Alhai’s.

"It’s a jackfruit." Coco’s mother’s voice then followed after Alhai’s, sounding eager and giddy. "It’s one of Coco’s favorite fruits, but watermelon is first before jackfruit."

Coco closed the door behind her, blinking owlishly as she made her way through the hall and peek her head in the doorway, her eyebrows shot up to her hairline at how curious she was at what was happening.

Right in the middle of the room, on the top of the dining table, sat a singular thick branch with three jackfruit sprouting from it.

"I can show you how to cut this, then once we go to Coco’s friends, we will give them half of it, okay?" Cleora said, turning her attention to Heiren with a small smile. "This is the first time Coco will be introducing me to her friends, so I want to give a good first impression."

"Coco didn’t have any friends before?" Lala asked, her petite form squeezed in between Richard and Cleora.

"Unfortunately." Cleora chuckled and grabbed the jackfruit from the table, which was safely ripped off from the branch by Richard. "She’s quite shy and introverted, so bringing friends home was not her thing."

"Did she even have friends?" Alhai inquired, making everyone turn their heads to him.

The mediator raised an eyebrow. "What?"

Heiren let out a sigh and shook his head. "You could have asked something else, but you just had to ask that from our mother, huh? Talk about having no social cues."

"I was curious." Alhai grumbled, his handsome face twisting into a frown. "Is it bad to ask if our wife had any friends?"

"It’s not." Coco answered the silver haired mediator’s question, causing everyone inside the room to look at her and had some of them jump out of their skin. "I didn’t have any real friends back on Earth, so I didn’t bring anyone home."

"Goodness, Coco!" Cleora breathed out, a hand placed on her chest. "You scared me! How long have you been here?"

"Come inside." Alhai called as he rounded the table and reached for Coco’s hand before interlocking their fingers together, guiding her into her usual seat on the dining table. "Are you hungry? Do you want to have some snacks?"

"Uh, no, but thank you for the offer." Coco smiled softly at Alhai and looked at Cleora. "Jacques and Renaldo might be busy, so I’ll pick them up instead, okay?"

"Sure!" Cleora beamed, lifting the jackfruit to her face. "I’ll have them take a taste of this bad boy over here! Would you like to have some watermelon, too? Or apples? Your sweet Heiren offered to make an apple pie."

"I’ll grow the apples, of course!" Lala chimed in, smiling brightly at Coco. "It’s been awhile since I last used my ability, so it might get out of hand."

"Okay, Lala." Coco giggled and stood up from her seat. "Anyway, I only stopped by because I wanted to let you guys know I’ll be heading over to Jacques. If there’s something you need to tell me, have Konoha come over to Jacques house."

"Wouldn’t that be too much of a hassle?" Cleora asked, her eyebrows furrowing as she walked over to the counter.

"Jacques’ house is very near to ours." Heiren turned to Cleora, a small smile emerging in his lips. "It’s only a walking distance and if you think about it.. We’re practically neighbors with them."

"What Heiren said." Coco agreed and leaned forward to Alhai, capturing his lips in a quick kiss.

The mediator’s cheeks immediately became warm at the blatant display of affection, but before he could return the kiss, Coco already pulled away and walked over to Heiren.

"You don’t have to cook a lot of dishes, okay?" Coco murmured to Heiren, her hands clasping around the mediator’s cheeks and before he could answer, she already pulled his head down to plant a kiss on his lips.

"I’ll pick up Zaque from his work, too." Coco said after she pulled away from her husband’s lips. "I’m going to buy some of what they have, so we can snack on it later."

Cleora, Lala, and Richard didn’t mind seeing Coco kiss her husbands, but to Alhai and Heiren, it felt a little embarrassing because they are on the receiving end of Coco’s affection, despite all that, they didn’t bother speaking up because they like Coco kissing them.

It took them a long time before they could capture Coco’s heart and now that they have it, they will be damned if they were to let it go.

"I’ll be on my way." Coco said over her shoulder, already walking over to the door.

Alhai and Heiren shared a glance, their eyes holding a lot of things to say to each other and then, without wasting a second, the two of them nodded their heads.

Heiren looked around the room, his eyes searching for a certain hybrid that he was certain was just right beside him.

Kairo was hiding behind Richard and Lala because he felt out of place in the kitchen, especially when Coco just missed her husbands out of nowhere, but he was taken aback when Heiren grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the kitchen.

"Coco!" Heiren called, making Coco pause in her tracks and stop herself from opening the door.

"Yes?"

"I think you forgot to kiss Kairo, too." Heiren huffed out, eyes narrowing.
