New World, New Life: I Became A Bigshot In The Ancient World-Chapter 170: COCKY ABOUT HIS HANDSOMENESS
Chapter 170: COCKY ABOUT HIS HANDSOMENESS
Adeline had wrapped her with a towel and was now carrying her out of the bathroom. She didn’t say anything as she was tired, also noticing she was getting used to being carried by Adeline.
Adeline carefully placed her on the bed and proceeded to dry her hair. Then, she helped her get dressed.
Aristia lay sprawled out on the bed.
"Princess, shall I inform their royal highnesses that you will not be joining them for breakfast?" Adeline asked, looking at Aristia.
Aristia slowly shook her head. "There’s no need for that. I will just rest a little, then go out for breakfast."
Her training ended a few minutes ago, and there was still about an hour until breakfast. She still had ample time to rest.
Adeline nodded in understanding and left the room. "Then, I’ll leave you to rest, princess."
"Mm."
Aristia fell asleep not long after, and this time, there were no dreams. When she woke up, she felt invigorated.
She headed to the dining room for breakfast.
She took her seat at the table.
"Tia, how are you feeling?" Catherine asked, worry lacing her tone.
"I’m fine, mama. I just needed a little rest." Aristia reassured her mother.
Catherine nodded. "Take it easy, dear."
After breakfast, Aristia headed for her next class which was history. Vasily couldn’t move about frequently. She was instructed to rest at home, therefore, she couldn’t tutor Aristia.
A substitute tutor had been assigned to tutor history. Not only for Aristia, but for all the pupils being tutored in history by Vasily.
Aristia’s new history teacher was a middle aged aristocrat woman.
Aristia listened half-heartedly as the woman educated her on the lesson. Truth be told, she preferred Vasily’s teaching and their discussions.
Nevertheless, she had to play her part as the intelligent daughter of the Imperial Prince and pretend to listen attentively.
After her last class of the day; music, Aristia was free for the rest of the afternoon. She used that time to look into the reports Owen had given her the previous day.
Right now, she was in her home office sitting behind her desk with the report open in front of her.
She went through it, nodding in satisfaction. [Dahlia and Dorothy are managing the restaurant very well. My choice wasn’t wrong.]
Her gaze trailed to the only other person in the office, sitting behind the desk that was in front of hers but placed in an adjacent position on the left side of the wall.
[Ah, my trusty assistant.] She smirked.
Feeling her gaze on him, Owen looked away from the file in front of him to her. His eyes showed confusion, wondering why she was staring at him all of a sudden.
The next second, he shrugged, muttering to himself that his handsomeness had probably become irresistible. He smirked.
Aristia shook her head at his audacity, scoffing lightly. Owen seemed to have forgotten that she could hear him.
He was being cocky about his handsomeness.
[He’s already this arrogant at just nine years old. I wonder how he’ll be when he grows up. He’s a bit like modern Owen.]
She thought this while she put down the report in her hand and picked up the one about the art store she had purchased in the Hemsworth Fief.
A disdainful smirk settled on her face thinking about the people that thought they could step on her.
With the information that had been released about the opposing art store, they had lost all their patrons.
Nobody liked to be cheated. The nobles and aristocrats who usually purchased art supplies were furious, making sure that the art store couldn’t be salvaged anymore; there was no way for them to make a comeback after how big the news had blown up.
[Serves them right!] Aristia sneered.
Now, her art store was popular in not only in the Hemsworth Fief, but the North as a whole. It had a lot of patrons now due to the fact that the people didn’t want to be cheated, so after some investigations, it became known that Randall’s art store, as they believe this was sold good quality materials.
That, coupled with the impartial and polite treatment they offered to all, drew a lot of of customers to them.
Randall had gone from lowly manager of an unknown art store, to respected manager of a popular and well-known art store, in just a span of four months.
"Inform Randall to prepare for the usage of the next floor," she said without looking up from the file. "Since everything is ready."
"Yes, princess." Owen nodded.
A knock sounded on the door at that moment before it opened to reveal Adeline.
"Princess, a letter arrived for you from the first Miss of the Kiran household." She approached the table with a small tray in her hands.
[Paige Kiran?]
Aristia nodded as Adeline placed to the tray on her desk and handed her the envelope.
Cutting open the envelope, Aristia took out the letter and read its content. It was a tea party invitation to be held in three days.
"Will you be attending the tea party?" Adeline asked.
"Yes." Aristia nodded. Paige Kiran was one of the few people she associated with. They could be said to be part of the original Aristia’s friend group.
"Then, shall I write a reply to the Kiran Miss?" Adeline asked. She now almost knew when her miss wanted to do something and when she didn’t.
"Please do." Aristia replied with a nod of acceptance, staring at Adeline thoughtfully. Sometimes, Adeline played the role of a lady-in-waiting.

Three days later.
At the tea party in Marquis Kiran’s mansion.
There were different aristocrat girls present for the tea party.
Paige Kiran had invited her acquaintances to the tea party. There were girls aged six to thirteen present.
"Sister Paige must be excited to attend the academy next year?" A young girl said. Her voice was full of excitement.
Paige smiled. "The academy is magnificent. Of course, I’m excited to attend the academy." fгeewebnovёl.com
She had turned nine years old this year. Next year, she would leave for the academy.
One of the older girls around Paige’s age added to the conversation. "The academy has to be grand and magnificent to accomodate the large number of students."
The girls nodded. "That is true."
Aristocrat children from different nations attended the academy. That only built their anticipation of knowing about the academy.
"I still cannot imagine how grand and magnificent the academy must be." Nova, who was beside Aristia, whispered.
Lauren also leaned closer to Aristia. "Sometimes I wonder if it’s even grander than the royal palace. I won’t know until Liam goes."
Aristia nodded, also wondering what the academy would be like.
"Oh. He’s leaving for the academy this year too." Nova said, her face surprised. She had forgotten that her cousin brother would attend the academy this year.
Lauren and Nova had to straighten up from their leaning position towards Aristia because the other children had begun to turn to then with curiosity in their eyes.
"What about the classes? I heard that a tutor teaches a lot of students together at the same time." One of the younger girls who hadn’t begun attending the academy, asked.
Her question was reasonable as the children were used to one-on-one tutoring in their individual homes.
"Yes. The lessons are held in a classroom, where the students who have the particular lesson at that moment gather. My brother said so himself." Another girl in the academy explained.
"The academy is truly a splendid place." Another girl added.
"I truly cannot wait to begin to attend the academy."
"Yes, I feel as if the time is long."
"I understand. I have to wait two years."
Aristia quietly sipped her tea as she listened to the girls express their desire to attend the academy.
[What is this dull ache in my heart?] She thought in confusion. Her expression remained neutral on the outside, making it impossible for anyone to guess what she was thinking.
"Your Highness is probably looking forward to attending the academy?" A girl sitting some tables away asked.
Aristia smiled, ignoring the feeling in her chest. "The academy sounds great. I’m also looking forward to attending just like everyone."
"The princess spoke correctly." The children praised.
But Aristia wasn’t concerned about the praise. Her mind was on the feeling she had experienced that was no longer in her chest. Was she hallucinating?
The dull ache had lasted for only a second. It was almost as if it wasn’t there in the first place.
She quietly sipped her tea.
Soon, the topic shifted from talking about the academy to other matters that interested the young girls.
"My embroidery skills are average. My mother always complains and scolds me."
"Haha, my mother does too."
"... I try to embroider simple patterns first."
"But her highness certainly has a talent for it." When a girl around Aristia’s age said this, everyone seated at the table turned to Aristia.
