Naruto: I Have a Gravity Training Room-Chapter 464 - 462
"I agree with spooking him on purpose!"
Neji cut in, interrupting the pointless back-and-forth between Ōnoki and Gaara. "Victor wants to use a fragment of the God Tree to cultivate a new God Tree. That's an extremely dangerous act, and we must stop it. The moment we move, we'll be spooking him anyway, so this is the only plan we can choose."
Sasuke agreed as well. "Victor hasn't had the God Tree fragment for long. The cultivation experiments have only just started, yet ordinary people have already gone missing after taking part. His company has hired an absurd number of employees. I have reason to suspect he's preparing 'fertilizer' for a new God Tree."
The room's expressions shifted.
He was right. Victor's headcount was far too high.
For a greedy businessman, that level of hiring was obviously irrational. If he were expanding the company, that would be one thing, but there were no signs of that.
Before you plant a tree, you prepare fertilizer.
Those employees might be exactly what Sasuke suspected. God Tree feedstock.
Just like during the Infinite Tsukuyomi, when everyone was bound by the God Tree and drained of chakra.
"That bastard!" Naruto slammed the table as he surged to his feet. "We can't let him succeed! We do it the Tsuchikage's way. We stop him from cultivating a new God Tree and spook him hard!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Everyone glanced around at each other, and in the end they all nodded.
Just as Neji and Sasuke said, Victor had to be stopped, which made the "spook him" plan inevitable.
Natsuki finished writing everything onto a note and confirmed again. "So the plan is locked, right? I'm about to send this to Kakashi-senpai. If there's anything to change or add, say it now."
They exchanged looks once more, then nodded to Natsuki. "Send it."
Natsuki activated Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God Technique) and flashed the note away.
Sasuke added, "Just in case, should one of us Four Six Paths go along? If we run into an Ōtsutsuki, we can act immediately."
Naruto instantly agreed. "Sasuke's right! One of us should go. I'll go!"
Everyone looked at Naruto. Not a single person showed any intention of agreeing.
They all knew Naruto's personality. Even though he'd grown, it still wasn't enough. And the way he'd just slammed the table and blown up proved he wasn't suited for this. If Victor said one wrong thing and Naruto got provoked, then one impulsive Rasengan and Victor would be dead. At that point there'd be no "spooking" anybody. It would just be self-sabotage.
Neji spoke up at once. "Sasuke should go."
The others agreed immediately. "Sasuke should go."
Sasuke shot Naruto a smug look. This round was the victory of Indra's reincarnation.
Naruto, obviously, refused to take it. "Why?! Why does everyone support Sasuke going but not me? I've got Six Paths-level strength too! You're all biased toward that smug Sasuke!"
See? No matter how much this reckless guy grew, his temperament still hadn't changed.
Everyone was speechless.
Fortunately, Minato stepped in at just the right moment. "Naruto, don't get worked up. Calm down and think. Natsuki and Neji also have Six Paths-level strength, and Natsuki is even stronger. So why didn't anyone suggest either of them go?"
Naruto blinked. "Why?"
Minato was patient with his son. "Because Sasuke learned Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God Technique). He can already use it to send notes, so he can stay in constant contact with us. Neji can't use Hiraishin, so he's not suitable. Natsuki is our trump card. We won't deploy him unless it's the final moment. As for you, you can't use Hiraishin, and you're still impulsive, so you're not suitable either. Understand?"
Naruto opened his mouth, then finally said nothing.
A father really did understand his son best. In one shot, Minato talked him down.
Natsuki glanced at Sasuke. Sasuke was wearing that smug, obvious, "of course it's me" expression, which made it clear he'd already guessed he'd be the one going.
With Sasuke's current brain, it was only natural he could see it coming.
That was why he'd made the suggestion. A perfect excuse to ditch the office's boring paperwork and head straight to the front line.
This kid was becoming harder and harder to underestimate.
"Then I'm going." Sasuke didn't waste time. He activated his Rinnegan and opened a spatial portal, heading toward Team Kakashi's vicinity.
After watching Sasuke leave, Natsuki finally spoke again. "That's the meeting. Any other additions?"
Hashirama immediately added, "Just in case, everyone should wait in the office. The Four Kage and Mifune shouldn't head back yet either. Natsuki, send a note to their villages first to let them know. Also, lunch is almost here. Go order Ichiraku ramen. Put it on the public account, and remember to order the deluxe set. We're hosting guests today!"
Tobirama immediately exposed the real motive. "Aniki, if you truly wanted to host guests, why are you ordering mere ramen? You should book a full table at Yakiniku Q instead. The truth is you've been sneaking out to gamble these past six months, and you've blown most of the household money. You haven't had Ichiraku's deluxe set in a while, so you're using this as an excuse. And the excuse isn't even that convincing."
Everyone turned to Hashirama. Hashirama's face went awkward.
Once upon a time, the Senju were rich beyond measure. Now the clan had long since declined. They didn't have that kind of financial power anymore. And with both Hashirama and Tsunade being gamblers, the debts they'd racked up lately were no joke. How could Hashirama have the luxury to eat and drink freely?
Oh, there was still money, sure. But the Senju finances were in Tobirama's hands now, so Hashirama and Tsunade naturally didn't have much on them.
Hashirama scratched his head. "I do like gambling, but I don't lose that much. The one who loses the most is Tsuna. She's always losing!"
Tsunade went flat. "Grandpa, you're the one who dragged me into gambling with you."
"I dragged you and you just went? You're the acting Hokage right now. How can you go gambling? Think how bad that looks!"
Tsunade laughed coldly. "You, the First Hokage, didn't care. Why should I? Besides, everyone in the world knows Tsunade loves gambling. Going to a casino is no big deal. And I can heal people and earn money too, unlike you, Grandpa, just sitting around eating for free."
"What did you say?!" Hashirama's eyes went wide. "Tsuna, your wings have gotten stiff. You actually dare say your grandpa eats for free?!"
"Hah." Tsunade folded her arms. "I'm over fifty. I'm not some little girl. Why can't my wings be stiff?"
"You've got the nerve to say that!" Hashirama jabbed right back. "Over fifty and still single. Natsuki's kid is about to be born. Look at yourself. What kind of example is that!"
"Don't tell me what to do! I like being single. What are you going to do about it?!"
Tobirama pinched the bridge of his nose. These two, grandpa and granddaughter, were something else. As family, he really had it rough. The sympathetic looks he got from everyone else only made his face fill with helplessness.
Every family had its own sutra to recite.
Natsuki had already sent notes to the Four Great Villages and the Land of Iron. Seeing Hashirama and Tsunade still going at each other, he didn't bother asking again. He simply flashed over to Ichiraku and ordered five deluxe bowls per person. Someone here could definitely eat enough. No risk of leftovers.
