Fated love: the unwanted bride-Chapter 2143: What’s So Tasty About This Stuff!
In the following few days, Sylvan Cheney did not come to the company at all; it seemed he went to Pasington to participate in a financial summit, and Kade Yuvan went along.
Jasmine Yale went to the university on her own to submit her internship report.
On her way back, she sat under the university’s ginkgo tree, with eyes blurred, filled with inscrutable traces.
She picked up a yellow ginkgo leaf and placed it on her palm, her gaze tracing the leaf veins, unable to tear her eyes away.
The university is the place with the most couples, everywhere are seen boys and girls holding hands.
The campus scenery is beautiful, any couple walking on the road can easily form a beautiful landscape painting.
Students are quite uninhibited, at moments of deep affection, they would stand by the roadside embracing or kissing.
Jasmine Yale looked on with a touch of envy, her lips curled up, smiling happily.
She was reluctant to leave the campus, unwilling to part from its purity, so she simply took out a book and sat on a chair reading, occasionally jotting down some notes with a pen.
In the field of finance, she needed to compensate for a vast amount of knowledge, and could only rely on hard work in order to catch up gradually.
A well-worn notebook in which she had already filled more than half with notes, even more diligently than during her college entrance exam.
The sun was shining, the weather wasn’t too cold, and the temperature was quite high.
Jasmine Yale sat under the ginkgo tree, head bowed, diligently writing notes.
There was a finance arithmetic problem she couldn’t solve, no matter how she calculated, it was incorrect.
She decided to send the question to Yukon Carbon, knowing that Yukon was a high-achieving student in the finance department, with solid professional knowledge.
Yukon Carbon was probably at work and didn’t reply immediately.
She furrowed her brow and continued working on the problem.
Unconsciously, it was already noon.
She had only taken a half-day leave.
Packing up her textbooks and notes, Jasmine Yale carried her bag and went to a nearby Chinese fast-food restaurant for lunch.
The fast-food restaurant was small, Jasmine Yale found a window seat and ordered a particularly simple meal set, eating casually enough before heading to the company.
This time, the place wasn’t very crowded, with sunlight spilling over the window seats.
Small restaurant seats were tightly packed, Jasmine Yale was pregnant and had to find a relatively spacious area.
She kept her head down, quietly eating the food from inside the lunch box, sunlight spilling on the table corner, and shining on her side face.
"Jasmine Yale."
Right as she was engrossed in eating, a deep, indifferent voice shattered the stillness.
Beside her stood the tall figure of a man, blocking her light, his shadow cast a dark veil over the surroundings. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Jasmine Yale paused her hand holding the chopsticks; this voice was one she was all too familiar with.
Yet she did not stop eating, after a brief pause, she continued to eat with her head bowed.
The air, silent.
"What’s so great about eating this kind of thing!" Sylvan Cheney didn’t know where the resentment came from, his expression turning very dark, reaching out to fiercely shove her lunch box away!
Jasmine Yale’s chopsticks slipped from her grasp, clattering to the ground.
The lunch box was pushed far away, the chopsticks fell as well, and lunch... naturally couldn’t be completed.
Jasmine Yale did not turn around, did not look at him, but she could still sense the aggressive aura emanating from him.
This time, he hadn’t been drinking.
After a long time, she slowly spoke, her voice gentle, "It’s just a casual meal, something simple; there are always times outside where eating isn’t convenient. This type of lunch is both easy to solve and convenient, what’s wrong with eating it."
"Oh, so today no one took you out to eat?" Sylvan Cheney sneered, towering over her slender frame.
