Naruto: I Have a Gravity Training Room-Chapter 440 - 439
Q: In the shinobi world, who's the one person you absolutely should marry?
A: Of course it's Tenten! Because if you marry Tenten, you can become Haotian!
That was what Natsuki was thinking in his head. Haotian—those who get it, get it. Besides, even if he and Tenten weren't officially married yet, they'd already long since become "Haotian."
The wedding process itself wasn't complicated. First, pick an auspicious day, then send out invitations far and wide, then prepare the banquet and ceremony. Most of the arrangements could be handed off to his "bargain" father-in-law. After all, the man was more motivated than anyone—he'd been waiting forever to hurry up and hold an outer grandchild.
What Natsuki and Tenten needed to focus on was renovating their new house—preferably expanding it.
Luckily, there was plenty of empty space next to the old house. Natsuki just needed to mention it to the Hokage to claim the land. After that, one burst of Mokuton (Wood Release) would handle the construction. Ridiculously convenient.
On top of that, the two of them still had to write invitations and personally deliver them.
The shop owner could decide who he wanted to invite, but Natsuki and Tenten knew a lot of big-name people, so they had to think through their own guest list.
They talked it over until evening.
After eating dinner there, they walked home hand-in-hand. Only once they reached the courtyard did they realize they still hadn't let go the entire way.
Natsuki quietly set up a soundproof barrier, exchanged a grin with Tenten, then swept her into a princess carry and brought her into the house. There was no rain, so there was obviously no need for an umbrella.
But maybe because the wedding was so close, Tenten got a little too excited. The next day, Natsuki could only yawn his way to the Hokage Tower.
Right at the entrance, he ran into Kakashi—late, as usual.
Natsuki laughed. "Kakashi-senpai, your chronic lateness is back? And you look even more drained than before."
Kakashi shrugged. "I was only being proactive because of Obito. Now that Obito's business is settled, I've returned to my true form. And I'm not 'drained'—it's not that kind of 'weak.' It's that those two dead-eyed tabby cats of mine drain me dry after I drink."
Natsuki glanced at the two Sharingan Kakashi still couldn't close, and it all made sense.
One Sharingan had already left Kakashi half-dead. Two was just murder.
You had to wonder whether Obito had done it on purpose. He knew perfectly well how brutal the Mangekyō's chakra consumption was, and he still gave Kakashi both eyes. Was he trying to make sure Kakashi never enjoyed a happy life?
Yeah… if you wanted to go full conspiracy theory, it actually held together.
Kakashi looked at Natsuki's exhausted face and clicked his tongue. "You kids need to learn some restraint. Even if you're healthy, you can't just keep going like that. Look at you—you're wiped. And cover the hickey on your neck already. Seriously."
"Heh. Just a single guy's jealousy."
Natsuki didn't feel embarrassed at all. If you've got a wife, why wouldn't you be affectionate? A hickey wasn't even a big deal.
Not long after, the two of them reached the Hokage's office—and to their surprise, quite a few people were already there.
The four Hokage, Jiraiya, the Ino–Shika–Chō clan heads, Neji, Sasuke… basically all the higher-ups. They'd even set up a large conference table in the office itself for a meeting.
Why weren't they holding this in the actual conference room? What was this setup?
"You're too slow!" Tsunade snapped. "Even if the war is over, as the Hokage's aide you shouldn't slack off! Kakashi is one thing, but Natsuki—you're young, how can you be late?"
Natsuki couldn't help complaining. "Tsunade-sama, the war just ended. Can't we get a couple days off?"
Tsunade shook her head without hesitation. "No! Even if you're going to take time off, we need to arrange everything first. Konoha needs new deployments, and the alliance matters have to be handled quickly too. You were the one who proposed the alliance—if you don't finish dealing with it, you think you can rest?"
Natsuki's head started to pound.
The war was already over—so why was it still this busy? He couldn't even rest for two days? 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
He hurriedly said, "Then can I take leave?"
Tsunade frowned at him. "Do you have something you need to do?"
Natsuki immediately broke into a delighted smile. "Well, the shinobi world's about to enter peace, right? So I figured I should hurry up and marry Tenten. We need to be busy preparing the wedding banquet."
The entire office went silent, everyone staring at Natsuki in shock. (For the most exhilarating novels, go to Faloo Novel Network!)
Then, in the next instant, the room filled with joy.
Hashirama roared with laughter. "Hahahaha! So the kid's finally marrying little Tenten! That's a huge event, a huge event! Then of course we have to give you time off!"
Tsunade laughed too. "You should've said so sooner! With something that big, you think I wouldn't approve it?"
Everyone chimed in with congratulations.
Neji and Sasuke were even more blunt: "You two are finally getting married. We were sick of your sticky sweetness ages ago. We thought we'd have to wait another few years."
Natsuki puffed up proudly. "Heh heh. I'll send you invitations in a few days. Better start thinking about what gifts you're bringing—if it's not sincere, you're not qualified to enter the banquet!"
It was obviously a joke. Even if they brought nothing, as long as they showed up, Natsuki would be happy.
But nobody else saw it that way.
Even setting aside Natsuki and Tenten's status as heroes, just being close friends meant the gift had to be heartfelt. That was something they'd have to think through carefully—otherwise it would be downright embarrassing.
After that, the meeting finally began.
The agenda mainly had a few points:
First: promotions and rewards for shinobi who performed outstandingly in the war. For example, Naruto Uzumaki, Yamashiro Rinya, Katō Megumi, and Rock Lee would be promoted to jōnin. Some people would also be assigned new posts and responsibilities. In short, talent needed to be used—those with ability couldn't be left to rot.
Second: arrangements for the three revived Hokage. Naturally, they would be placed in elder roles, participating in village affairs both large and small, as well as major alliance matters.
Tsunade even proposed stepping down herself to become an elder, letting one of the three Hokage return to the seat—only to be met with unanimous opposition.
The reason was simple: Tsunade hadn't been Hokage for that many years yet. It was far too early to step down.
Besides, the alliance was a huge undertaking that needed handling right now. Suddenly changing Hokage would be a terrible idea. At minimum, they had to get everything organized and stabilized first—only then could they consider anything else.
Tsunade was furious, but she couldn't win the argument.
She was probably already sick to death of the Hokage's endless chores, desperate to escape the seat as soon as possible.
And honestly, Hokage really wasn't a job for humans. You worked nonstop all day. Forget spending time with family—there wasn't even time to sneak a little drink now and then.
So who in their right mind would want to be Hokage?!
Tsunade immediately turned to Natsuki and tried to coax him. "Natsuki, your contributions in this war were the greatest, your strength is the greatest, and your head is good too. You've got real leadership charisma. I think you should be Hokage."
Natsuki refused on the spot. "Kedowaru! No way I'm being Hokage! If I become Hokage, I won't even have time to be with my wife and kids. So I refuse—firmly!"
"Ugh, why are you so stubborn?!" Tsunade wouldn't let it go. "Being Hokage has plenty of benefits too! Think about it—once you become Hokage, Tenten, her dad, and your future kids will all be proud of you!"
"What's there to be proud of, being a village chief? Not being Hokage doesn't stop me from being the strongest in the shinobi world. Tsunade-sama, don't even try to fool me."
Natsuki wasn't going to fall for it.
Hokage?
Even a dog wouldn't do it.
