Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 74 - Seventy-Four: She Belonged To The Beast.
The more he drove his car towards his house, the more nervous he was about what was awaiting him at home. He wasn’t just nervous, but scared was also there too.
Mario could feel the negative feeling in the air, and maybe.. just maybe things weren’t that serious as Rosa said, Marya has always been the overdramatic type, he didn’t know his child to do something reckless like running away.
But ever the deal with Adrik, Mario felt the distance barricaded between his daughter, and him. Things had changed drastically, so maybe he is the one that doesn’t know what sort of person she has become.
One could only bear so much to a certain end, but what Narika has passed through was more than what any normal human would go through. If it was up to him, he wanted to bear her pains. He wanted to see the said Adrik.
It hurt as a parent watching the bubbly light in the eyes of your child, dwindling with every new day that passes, and she had all long been pretending to be strong because of them.
Maybe it’s his fault that she ran away?
Maybe Marya has been right when she suggested that they go meet her mother, and sort things out with the aggrieved ghost that is messing with his family.
When he arrived at the front gate, he saw the detective’s car already in the driveway giving him the hint that this was actually something serious, and he’s in for a night full of Marya crying and blaming herself for what happened.
He came down from his car, and saw the front door opened and out walked Detective Homer and his sister in-law, Rosa. His wife was probably inside, and thankfully he wasn’t hearing her cries anymore. He can’t think well when she’s crying. That hurts him.
"Detective," He called for him, as the Detective’s attention was now on him, and Rosa looked away from his wandering eyes, that were asking about how she got here earlier than she expected.
"Mr. Singh, it’s so unfortunate that everytime we meet is about something bad." Detective Homer said, his hands moving out to take Mario’s hands for a handshake, before his other hand went to pat his shoulder three times. " Look, I don’t know what this is all about, but from what happened It seemed like she was kidnapped, judging from the damage done to the glasses, but I’m confused about the part where she left a note about her leaving. Then, there’s the part where your wife isn’t willing to talk." He added.
Mario nodded his head at his words, he didn’t understand the part where he said that she was kidnapped because of the broken windows. But if Rosa was down here, and there’s a note with Narika saying that she left, then she left. This is no abduction.
"As you can see, I had to drop everything i was doing at work just to be here on time. I don’t really know what happened, but I’m sure that whatever it is, with your help i know Narika will be found soon." He said, looking at Rosa one more time to see her nose flaring at the nosy neighbors, that were out of their house to know what exactly is happening with them again.
Okay.
Now, this is the part where he had made up his mind about leaving. Once Narika is found, he’s leaving this hellhound.
"That’s what your sister-in-law said when we got here, but things are still in the heat of the moment. So i will be back with my partner to get your official statement with that of your wife, as of now. I would like to take my leave." Detective Homer said lastly, before looking at him and Rosa before going for his car.
Mario turned to Rosa, whose arms are wrapped around each other, before she ignored him and turned to enter inside. But he dragged her back.
"Get your hands off me, Mario. What’s your problem?" Rosa called him by his real name, and that made Mario annoyed by her rudeness. Yeah, he knew that he wasn’t the best ideal inlaw to her, and her mother, but for the fact that he’s married to her sister, totally changes everything.
Twenty good years of marriage is enough for them to keep the malice aside, and accept the fact that Marya won’t divorce him.
"I know that we aren’t on the best terms with each other, but what i won’t tolerate in my house is your attitude. Your sister is grieving and the best you are doing is giving me attitude, to remind her that we aren’t okay with each other. At Least think of your niece, and stop being such a baby." Mario said harshly, before he left her insearch of his wife. He didn’t care to know what her reply was or what her next attitude was. What mattered now was his missing child and his wife.
He entered inside his room to see Marya sitting on the floor, with Narika’s picture in her hand. The tears flowing down her eyes made her face swollen, and this scene broke his heart in a thousand pieces.
His eyes shot up, to see the damage Detective Homer was talking about the windows. But rather, he disregarded the thoughts of what might cause that, before he went to where Marya was crying.
"Baby.." He called her, but she paid him no attention. All her focus was on Narika’s picture, and her tears were on it.
"She left. She.. left me. I’m a bad mother." She cried, her hands went to clutch at her disheveled hair, but Mario grabbed them into his own.
"We will find her. There’s nothing much to be afraid of, she’s probably going to change her mind and come back...," Mario tried assuring her, but why does that assurance not move her?
"No you don’t understand, she’s not coming back because she’s scared." She said, taking a breath before she continued, this time she was staring into Mario’s eyes. " I will kill your father, if anything happens to my daughter. Why did he kill Adrik?"
He wanted to reply back, but Rosa chose to come in at this moment and pushed her way into their conversation. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Look, I don’t really understand what this is all about, but if her powers have started showing, then Lucifer is..."
"Shut up Rosa, he’s not coming for anyone. Not even my child." Mario shouted.
"Seriously Marya, I don’t understand why you are still putting up with this jerk." Rosa stumped her feet in frustration.
Her words hurt Mario, and he was forced to act on his feelings." Get out!"
"We all know this has nothing to do with his father killing Adrik or whatever his name is, let’s face the truth. You all were there when she was born. She carried the mark of Lucifer. She belonged to the beast. Stop crying as if this is something new"
While Rosa trailed on with her words, it sliced harshly at Marya who wanted nothing but for her to stop mentioning Lucifer’s name.
"And you think right now is the time to give your judgment when she’s hurting, Rosa have some sense please." Mario added.
"For crying out loud, she might have gone with him. She belongs to him anyway so..."Rosa continued, she didn’t want to hurt her sister but she’s acting dumb and it’s all because of Mario!
Narika has been borned special, she will give birth to the Antichrist and there’s nothing anyone can do to change it.
She looked at Marya to see that she had stopped crying, but she was still staring at her Narika’s picture. While Mario was still stupid, he’s firm in his belief that Narika can make a choice for herself. Until Marya’s words shut the both of them, making a smile to form on her face.
"Rosa, call mother."
