Chapter 58: Chapter Fifty-Eight: To Find A Cure.

Country A, Mainland.

The City’s central hospital.

Rather than Adrian listening to his father’s warnings and staying away from Camille, at least until he’s done the task that has been assigned to him.

The loverboy sure had grown some wings, by allowing Camille to convince him into going to see his doctor. Without knowing that for the past few days, they were being watched.

Adrian sat down with Camille by his side, he was quite nervous and it was showing with the way his leg was shaking. This isn’t about the fact that he’s still scared after finding out what’s wrong with him. No! It’s about the fact that he doesn’t even know why he’s here.

To find a cure.

Camille has said, and has sweet talked him into having these sessions with Doctor Velma, a shrink. The thoughts of her accessing him as if he had gone crazy didn’t settle quite well with him.

Not just him though, for the past twenty minutes, Killa has been trying to come out. Thanks to Camille she had proven to him that nothing could make her feeling’s for him change. Not including a crazy alter ego who has been sulking since after failed attempts to manifest.

With Camille around, he’s sane and doesn’t lose control. But the question bothering him now was, What if she leaves?

Well, not actually the main leaving of couples breaking up, eventually she’s going to be going back to her family’s house soon and he didn’t know how exactly to tell her not to leave. Especially not now that he needed her the most. Until he figures out how to control this without her being near.

"What the fuck is she taking that long?" Adrian finally bursted out impatiently, after waiting out for five minutes since they came in and Mrs. Velma hadn’t shown up.

"Baby, calm down. She’s probably on her way here, you know how busy doctors are." Camille said, holding his left hand and rubbing atop of it to calm his nerves down.

You see the reason i like her? She’s the calm while I’m the storm. We complement each other brother.

Killa asked him with a tease, making Adrian’s knuckle’s to clench tightly at hearing him call him brother. What the fuck!

"I’m not your fucking brother," He muttered to himself, but Camille noticed his uncalmed state, and moved her chair closer to him.

"Hey it’s okay, baby look at me." She said, bringing his face to look at hers. Camille was trying to make him a better man, and fuck! He wanted to be one for her, but it isn’t that easy.

He’s done bad things that not even having an alter ego as a punishment, or trying to better himself because of her could justify his past actions. At this point, he was meant to understand that Killa had met Polina. The memory wasn’t that clear but he could remember some times that Polina was scared of him. He could never hurt his sister.

"He’s in my fucking head," He grunted out in annoyance, slamming his hands down ontop of the table in front of them. That made Camille to jerk from the action, she too was scared and there’s no pretense for that.

" He likes you," He added lastly, removing his hands from Camille’s grip and looking away from her. He doesn’t deserve her. He doesn’t!

"Well I.." Camille tried talking to him, she was hurt from him withdrawing himself from her but the door chose to open at that moment and his doctor walked in with a smile on her face.

"Well it’s lovely to see you again Mr. Singh, I’m so sorry for making you wait." Velma said, walking over to where they were to take Adrian’s outstretched hands into hers, before glancing at Camille’s way.

"This is Camille, a friend." Adrian introduced the both of them. There was this disappointed look on Camille’s face when she heard him refer to her as a friend but it was long gone, before he could see it.

She doesn’t want him to think that she’s becoming too clingy, and then stops seeing her. She loves Adrian with all her heart, and needed clarity in what they were. But Adrian wasn’t ready for that.

He isn’t ready for the commitment.

"Well nice to meet you, I’m Doctor Velma. I’m sure he must have told you things about me, you are beautiful Camille. Adrian sure does have an eye for lovely things." She teased, making Adrian roll his eyes at the both of them before they finally got into business about why they are here.

"So,I have been informed that you have something to say to me. I’m thankful that you are finally opening up, and i see the reason for that." Doctor Velma said, smiling at Camille who looked at Adrian to see that he’s having a change of mind about this.

"Can i be frank with you about the reason why I’m here?" Adrian asked, after failed attempts of imagining himself walking out of here, once she starts talking nonsense.

"Of course you are free to tell me anything. Although I’m worried about Camille being here. I don’t think you might want to have her..."

Doctor Velma, tried letting him know that she doesn’t actually fancy another person joining their session. That’s because of who he was, she doesn’t trust Camille incase of any future problems and this gets out to the public.

"It’s okay, I can leave..." Camile stood up, she totally understood the doctor, but Adrian wasn’t having it.

"No, she stays." He held her hand.

"Okay, that’s fine with me as long as you are okay with it."Doctor smiled, before typing in something.

"Referring back to our last conversation, you were hesitant about opening up to me, that you had a problem up there." She said, pointing at her brain before sitting back in her chair. "I’ve done my research and i have come to believe that you, Mr. Singh, are suffering from what we call dissociative identity disorder/ multiple personality disorder. This is mainly the brain creating room to instill the point that there’s more than just one person living inside of you."

"It’s totally common and there’s nothing to be scared of, as long as there’s a medical practitioner to keep you in check. But this isn’t any normal problem. Eighty percent of people that have this is as a result of the trauma they went through, to have forced their mind to create a fake doppelganger of themselves. Some are as a result of abuse from childhood, so i might not actually know what’s yours until you open up to me, so i can know how exactly to help you." She added.

Throughout this time, Adrian was lost between the decision to move along with treatment or not. Killa wasn’t talking any longer. He couldn’t feel him but that does not mean that his last words weren’t made clear to him.

I will kill her!

He threatened to kill Mrs. Velma, she doesn’t know what exactly she’s getting herself into. As well as him. He doesn’t know how many of them exist aside from Killa. Were they psychopaths like him too?

Taking of trauma. The only trauma he went through and is going through is his father. He’s a bad man, not just any normal bad man. He’s a much more deranged psycho than Killa, and the fear that he’s good to find out about this had him changing his mind.

What if he abandons me for good?

He thought.

He’s already shown his displeasure towards him acting more of a sissy these days, and if he knows about Killa. Would he allow him to get rid of him?

"I..." Adrian starts, looking up to see the doctor waiting patiently for him to talk, and then there’s Camille urging him too.

Fuck! He couldn’t do this!

He stood up instantly.

"I’m ..sorry," He said, dropping a few dollars and more for the time he wasted before leaving without Camile.

"I’m so sorry." Camille apologized.

"It’s okay, he’s still in denial. He would surely come back when there’s no other option for him than to come back. Until then, try not to anger him so that he wouldn’t lose control and let the other one slip in, as we don’t know how many of them exist." Doctor Velma said to Camille, who give her a shameful smile before walking out of the door, ready to give Adrian a piece of her mind.
