Chapter 588: Chapter 249: Save Me Quick, He’s In My Mind_3

"Vigil, save me!"

"Hurry, save me, he’s in my head..."

Sercy’s thoughts were in disarray, unable to maintain his Elf Form, as he stumbled and lurched towards Vigil.

Feeling the tentacles writhing beneath his skin, he pressed down hard with his fingers and easily tore off his nearly melted face, which was void of any blood flow. The pale-white muscular texture was exposed, with finger-length tentacles slowly twisting.

Sercy grabbed and tore off the tentacles, but more and more emerged from the flesh. Until his eyes burst, several tentacles stretched out from his eye sockets; his thoughts and whispering voice gently called out together, and he finally became quiet.

He gradually understood everything.

The bizarre change occurring right in front of him was completely ignored by Vigil; his mind was not in his body, standing still like a wooden stake, his thoughts roaming in the vast world, lost in its intoxication.

Sercy was not a Legendary Mage, neither was Vigil. Since they had shown their talents, Tubie had been grooming them as the Great Prophet had.

Tubie had wanted to shake off responsibility for too long. The guidance for the two students had always prioritized communication with nature, relegating a Mage’s realm to secondary importance, which resulted in them still lingering at the Gold Level after a century.

The difference was, Sercy was truly wandering; Vigil had learned to question his teacher, sneaking in self-study sessions and touching the threshold of a Legendary Mage.

Just a moment ago, Vigil mistakenly thought that Wayne could call upon the forces of nature to change the Essence of Life. Inspired, he found his own path. He embraced his transformation, advanced his magical realm further, evolved his Life Barrier and upgraded it to Life Force Field.

This was a domain resembling the void, forged by thought, with limitless possibilities.

Incorrect assumptions led to the right outcome; it must be said, this guy was indeed a genius. The Great Prophet had held him back.

It also showed that he was only a step away from becoming a Legendary Mage, and today he rightfully advanced to that level.

"Awooo!"

Sercy charged at Vigil, smearing a face full of tentacles on him.

The handsome Elf had tentacles inserted into his mouth, nose, ears, and eyes; his limbs trembled and convulsed, and he soon became motionless.

Sercy’s mind had collapsed, and unless a medical miracle occurred, he could not be saved. Vigil’s mind, wandering outside of his body, was dragged back by the tentacles through that open door, the whispering by his ears unceasing, following Sercy into collapse.

On his first day as a Legendary Mage, before the transformation even began, his mind fell.

Two figures in white robes with tentacles on their faces stood still, their fragmented thoughts lacking the capacity for independent reasoning.

But ask them anything, and they answer everything!

Veronica peered for a while, then cautiously approached with a piece of tentacle wrapped around her calf. As she drew near, the tentacle fell to the ground, slithering up Vigil’s body and merged into his face.

Tentacle +1.

Veronica’s disgust +1.

Moments later, foam fell to the ground, writhing into a blurred human shape. As the features became clearer, Wayne’s appearance gradually took form.

"Brilliant! I got the cultivation method of the Great Prophet’s lineage without any effort," Wayne said snapping his fingers in approval and gave Veronica a hearty smile.

"Eh, Veronica, you’ve become more beautiful!"

Veronica remained expressionless, unresponsive even when praised. Wayne, confused, felt raindrops on his skin and then realized, stark naked.

"No wonder your eyes were so wide..."

Wayne: (⁄⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄⁄)

Bang!

Wayne got punched in the face and promptly picked up and put on his clothes. Returning to the two vegetative live bodies, he pondered for a moment then walked the Elemental Magic Four-Combo.

Dirt wall furnace, flames at high temperature, gales add pressure, torrential waters cleanse the earth.

Clean and traceless.

Sercy and Vigil achieved the Legendary Mage lineage’s highest accomplishment, returned to nature, merged with nature, and became eternally inseparable from the great outdoors.

"Look at this realm, they’re simply too strong,"

Take a look at your own face, it’s truly annoying!

Veronica thought of Wayne’s recent protection, her eyes slightly reddened, and she couldn’t help but throw a punch in anger.

Wayne covered his nose, blood spurting through his fingers, gave Veronica a look, his face pale, and weakly fell onto her chest.

Veronica caught Wayne, not quite understanding what had happened, until the blast of air boomed behind her, and then she vaguely sensed something was wrong.

"Wayne, are you alright, wake up, don’t scare me,"

In the pouring rain, Veronica sat on the ground, holding her brother, her chest soaked red with blood.

Saina’s face filled with murderous intent as she approached the two, shocked to a halt at the scene, quickly went over to check and, confirming that Wayne was only mentally disoriented and not in mortal danger, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Veronica, what happened, who attacked you?"

"Elves, two of them, both could communicate with nature, even more powerful than Wayne..."

Veronica’s eyes welled, holding back her words with effort, and after several attempts, no tears flowed.

This actress was of average talent and her future achievements were limited; had it been Vili, she’d already be wailing in Wayne’s arms, showering him with kisses, swearing never to marry in her life.

Fortunately, the heavens showed mercy, rainwater slid down Veronica’s cheeks, like small pearls strung together, forming two unceasing pearl necklaces.

"Elves who can communicate with nature..."

Fury flared in Saina’s eyes as she thought of the Legendary Mage Tubie, and she pressed on, "What are their names, what magic did they use?"

Veronica shook her head, the weak Wayne in her arms spoke up, "Teacher Saina... one of them is named Vigil, the other I’m not sure... they wanted to kill me..."

Wayne’s words were intermittent, gasping for several breaths between sentences, and at last, he lacked the strength to continue and tilted his head against Veronica’s chest.

Too weak, breathing heavily.

Damn it, breathe all you want this time!

Veronica’s mouth twitched, and she tightly pressed Wayne’s head to her chest, her body trembling, already overwhelmed by sorrow.

"Be gentler, he’s very weak right now,"

Saina urgently interceded, fearing that Veronica, in her agitation, might accidentally finish off her own brother.

She took Wayne in her arms, gently stroking his head, "Vigil is a student of the Legendary Mage Tubie, the other attacker must be as well, named Sercy, sent by the Great Prophet to kill you. Remember to stay away from them, that old fellow’s mouth is full of lies, don’t give him the chance to weasel out."

While Saina said this, she had already dismissed Tubie from suspicion, strongly suspecting that the Pope was the manipulator behind the scenes.

Using Sercy and Vigil’s jealousy to kill Wayne, then framing Tubie for the crime, either way, if she didn’t win, she’d win twice.

"Wayne, where are those two elves?"

"I don’t know... they seemed to have a disagreement, I barely held one off, the other was about to strike a deadly blow, then you appeared, Teacher Saina, and then..."

Wayne spoke with a burdened voice, the pressure too great, making it hard to speak.

"I understand, rest well, I will seek justice for you!" Saina’s face grew cold.
