Myth Beyond Heaven-Chapter 2691: Investigation (1)
Yun Lintian talked further with Granny Mei about the situation in the Profound Mystery God Realm.
There were many powerful factions across the realm, and all of them lived under the Profound Mystery God. However, the struggles between them were not a concern of the Profound Mystery God. As long as they didn’t interfere with the Profound Mystery Sect, they could kill each other as they pleased.
After Yun Lintian left Granny Mei’s house, he discussed with Linlin whether she wanted to investigate the White Tiger’s whereabouts first. After all, the assessment wouldn’t start for some time, and they had some time to spare.
Linlin’s eyes lit up with eagerness. "Yes, Big Brother Yun. I want to find my kin!"
Yun Lintian smiled and nodded. "Alright, then let’s go."
With that, they set off on their new journey, their hearts filled with determination and hope. They traveled for several days, crossing vast distances and encountering various landscapes. They saw towering mountains, dense forests, and sparkling rivers. They also encountered numerous cultivators, demons, and other celestial beings, their paths crisscrossing the realm like threads of fate.
Finally, they arrived at a bustling city called Sunlight City. It was a major hub of commerce and trade, its streets filled with merchants, artisans, and cultivators from all corners of the realm.
Yun Lintian and Linlin entered the city, their eyes scanning the surroundings, their senses alert for any clues that might lead them to the White Tiger. They wandered through the bustling streets, observing the people and their activities.
They saw merchants hawking their wares, cultivators sparring in the training grounds, and children playing in the squares. The city was alive with energy and activity, a testament to the prosperity and vitality of the Profound Mystery God Realm.
As they walked, Yun Lintian noticed a group of cultivators gathered around a notice board, their faces etched with concern. He approached the board and saw a poster with a detailed illustration of a majestic white tiger, its fur gleaming with an ethereal light, its eyes burning with a fierce intensity.
Beneath the illustration was a message, written in bold characters:
[REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE WHITE TIGER GOD.]
Yun Lintian frowned slightly. He approached the group of cultivators and inquired about the poster.
"Excuse me," he said, his voice polite and curious, "I couldn’t help but notice this poster. Do you know anything about the White Tiger God?"
The cultivators turned to look at Yun Lintian, their eyes filled with a mixture of surprise and suspicion. They had not expected a stranger to inquire about the White Tiger, especially not someone who looked as young and inexperienced as Yun Lintian.
"Who are you?" one of the cultivators asked, his voice gruff and wary. "And why do you want to know about the White Tiger God?"
Yun Lintian smiled faintly, his eyes gleaming with a gentle warmth. "I am a traveler," he said, his voice calm and reassuring. "I have heard tales of the White Tiger God, and I am curious to learn more about this legendary being."
The cultivators exchanged glances, their suspicion somewhat abated by Yun Lintian’s friendly demeanor.
"The White Tiger God is a powerful and benevolent being," one of them said, his voice filled with respect. "She was once the guardian spirit of the Bai Clan, a noble and righteous clan that was destroyed many years ago."
He paused, his eyes filled with a hint of sadness. "The White Tiger God disappeared after the Bai Clan’s destruction. Many believe that she was captured or killed by the enemies of the clan." Experience tales with novelbuddy
"Is that so?" Yun Lintian raised his brow slightly. "Then why is there a poster here?"
The cultivator hesitated for a moment, then leaned closer, his voice lowered. "Recently, there have been rumors that the White Tiger God has reappeared. Some say she’s returned to avenge the Bai Clan."
Yun Lintian’s eyes widened slightly. "Rumors? Where have these rumors surfaced?"
"They’re scattered," the cultivator replied, "small whispers here and there. A flash of white fur seen in the mountains, a powerful aura felt in the forests. Nothing concrete, but enough to stir the interest of the major clans here." He gestured around the city. "Many are trying to find her, hoping to gain her favor, or perhaps, her power."
Yun Lintian nodded, absorbing the information. "I see. Thank you for telling me this."
He turned to leave, but he didn’t rush. He needed to process this new information. If the White Tiger God had indeed returned, it changed everything. He decided to stroll through the city, observing the atmosphere, gauging the level of excitement and suspicion.
As he wandered, he noticed a young woman approaching him. She was dressed in elegant robes, her features delicate and refined, her aura radiating a quiet confidence.
"Excuse me," she said, her voice soft but clear. "You seem interested in the rumors about the White Tiger God."
Yun Lintian turned to face her, his expression neutral. "I am a traveler and I am naturally curious about the legends of this realm."
The young woman smiled. "My name is Meng Rouyan," she said, "and I am from the Meng Clan. We are one of the major clans in this region."
Yun Lintian’s eyes flickered slightly. He remembered Granny Mei’s words about the Meng Clan. They had been allies of the Bai Clan, but they had somehow failed to provide aid during the attack.
"Yun Lintian," Yun Lintian repeated, his tone polite. "It is a pleasure to meet you."
"I noticed you speaking with the cultivators," Meng Rouyan continued, her gaze direct. "You seem genuinely interested in the White Tiger’s return."
Yun Lintian remained silent, waiting for her to continue.
"My clan has a long history with the Bai Clan," Meng Rouyan said, her voice tinged with sadness. "We were close allies, and we deeply mourned their destruction. We are also eager to find the White Tiger God, to offer our assistance, if she desires it."
Yun Lintian looked at her calmly. It was difficult to figure out her intention. The Meng Clan’s past inaction was a point of concern.
"What do you know about the rumors?" Yun Lintian asked.
Meng Rouyan’s expression turned serious. "The rumors are vague," she admitted. "But they are persistent. There have been sightings of a white aura in the surrounding mountains and forests, and some cultivators have reported feeling a powerful, ancient presence. We are currently investigating these sightings, but we have yet to find any concrete evidence."
"What do you want from me?" Yun Lintian asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
