Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 67: Celestial Fire...
Chapter 67: Celestial Fire...
"This..." Ethan stood frozen on the spot.
His mouth opened slightly, but for a long moment, no words came out. Nearly 30,000 HP, close to 200 points in both attack and defense, and a base damage exceeding 400 points... This was basically a super, super boss!
But even more terrifying were the two newly unlocked innate abilities.
Sacred Realm—
Within its domain, unlimited HP regeneration. Basically, infinite healing!
Within its domain, instant movement and free traversal. Basically, teleportation!
Enemies within the domain suffer a 10% reduction in attack, defense, and HP. Basically, double-tier suppression!
30% reduction in Tier 4 magic damage. Basically, Magic Resistance...
This was an absolutely broken, hair-raisingly overpowered ability!
And the other new innate ability, Green Dragon Overlord, meant that Seraphina had now officially ascended to a Tier 13 Legendary Unit—the "true parent" of all Green Dragons.
If a civil war ever broke out, Seraphina would be their worst nightmare!
At the same time, the upgrade to her Green Dragon Commander ability had made her the undisputed Green Dragon Overlord!
A 55% boost to all attributes at max level—
With her leading them, Green Dragons could punch Angels, kick Devils, and dominate the battlefield without breaking a sweat!
"Now that’s what you’d expect from a Crimson Ultimate Hero. Absolutely insane." Ethan shook his head in admiration. "The only problem is... I wonder if Sylvanwood even has anyone strong enough to give you a real challenge."
He knew that Sylvanwood was hiding Tier 14 Mythic Units, but looking at Seraphina’s raw stats alone, she had already surpassed those wild Mythic Units!
And that wasn’t even considering her ridiculously overpowered innate abilities, which were enough to make anyone break out in a cold sweat.
At this point, there was no doubt—Seraphina could crush Tier 13 Legendary Units with ease!
Even against wild Tier 14 Mythic Units, she would still have the upper hand.
In fact, in a one-on-one fight, a wild Tier 14 Mythic Unit would most likely get completely annihilated by her!
In other words, unless it was a fully organized force of Tier 14 Mythic Units, or another Crimson Ultimate Hero, Seraphina was already unstoppable.
Truly, completely unstoppable.
"Chirp chirp, chirp chirp..."
Hearing Ethan’s admiration and praise, Seraphina let out a pleased sound, clearly delighted.
To her, Ethan’s approval meant more than anything!
"Seraphina, how did your class change to Green Dragon Deity? What’s going on? Does this mean you’ve actually become a deity now?" Ethan asked, puzzled.
He had just noticed that Seraphina’s class had shifted—from Green Dragon Warrior to Green Dragon Deity.
In the world of Glory Lords X, the term deity carried extraordinary significance.
That’s why he took it so seriously.
"No..."
Seraphina shook her head and explained slowly, "Any Crimson Ultimate hero is given the title of deity upon reaching adulthood, but it’s just an honorary designation. It doesn’t mean I’ve actually ascended to a true divine seat... However, if I reach my peak level, maybe—just maybe—I could claim that position for real!"
"A title exclusive to Crimson Ultimate heroes?" Ethan immediately grasped the meaning behind her words.
So this so-called deity class was actually just a unique honorary title for Crimson Ultimate heroes!
A mark of distinction—nothing more.
It didn’t necessarily reflect true power.
Realizing this, Ethan’s eyes flickered with thought, and he asked again, "If that’s the case, then this Sacred Realm ability—does that mean every Crimson Ultimate hero automatically gets it once they reach adulthood?"
"Yes."
Seraphina nodded. "The Sacred Realm is an exclusive ability for all deities and demigod-tier heroes. The core power is generally the same, but depending on the individual’s traits and strength, each person’s Sacred Realm manifests a little differently."
"I see... That explains why the system’s overall evaluation didn’t change—you’re still classified as a C-rank Crimson Ultimate..."
Ethan suddenly understood.
Then, turning to Elynn, who was approaching from behind, he smiled and said, "Elynn, go claim the Castle Heart of Blackmire Castle."
The Castle Heart was the core of a fortress—essentially its key. Whoever controlled the Castle Heart controlled the entire castle!
At that moment, Elynn’s expression shifted—she had clearly figured something out.
Gone was the hesitation in her eyes.
Instead, she radiated confidence and determination, standing tall and resolute.
"Yes, Master..."
The moment Ethan gave the order, she nodded without hesitation and led her troops into Blackmire Castle.
Not long after, a rapid series of system notifications began ringing in Ethan’s ears—like an alarm clock going off nonstop.
But instead of being annoyed, Ethan’s face lit up with excitement!
Ding!
"Congratulations, player ’Valkarion’! Your unit hero, Elynn, has successfully claimed the Castle Heart of Blackmire Castle! You have officially conquered a Level 3 Swamp Fortress. Please rename your new stronghold."
"Congratulations, player ’Valkarion’! You have successfully completed the S-rank storyline quest: Blackmire Castle’s Hostility! You have also triggered an SS-rank grand storyline quest: Conquer Sylvanwood!"
"A new storyline quest? Whoa... an SS-rank one at that..."
Ethan’s eyes widened as he sucked in a sharp breath.
But before he could process it fully, another system notification popped up!
Ding!
"Congratulations, player ’Valkarion’! Your unit hero, Elynn, has successfully triggered and completed a special quest—The Path to Heroic Advancement."
"Through training and battle experience, Silver Pegasus Knight Elynn has mastered new abilities: Level 1 Battle Wisdom, Level 1 Battle Mastery, and Level 1 Battle Charisma! A special class has been unlocked—Battlefield Commander!"
"Elynn leveled up?!"
Ethan’s pupils contracted as excitement surged through him!
But the system notifications weren’t done yet—more messages kept popping up!
"Congratulations, player ’Valkarion’, for completing the S-rank story quest Blackmire Castle’s Hostility! You have earned the following rewards:"
2 million gold
50 units of each of the six major resources
Choice of either: 3 units of a selected or random Tier 11 troop, or 1 random Tier 12 troop
A random Level 3 spell scroll (ignoring Wisdom requirements)
1 random blueprint for a special building
2 random Level 3 strategic artifacts
2 Hero Tier Advancement Scrolls (Purple)
"Holy—!"
Ethan shuddered, sucking in a sharp breath. His whole body trembled with excitement.
"This is insane! I hit the jackpot!"
His face lit up with a grin so wide he almost looked ridiculous.
Gold and resources? Those were great, but the real prizes were the troops.
3 units of a Tier 11 troop (chosen or random)
Or 1 random Tier 12 troop
That was basically a free nuclear-tier unit!
"I’ll take the random Tier 12 troop."
Even though it was just one unit, Tier 12 troops were leagues above Tier 11. Even a single step up in tier could mean a massive power difference. Given the choice, there was no way he’d settle for anything less.
"Beep! Player ’Valkarion’ has selected a random Tier 12 troop. Rolling... Beep! Selection complete!"
"Player ’Valkarion’ has received: 1 Tier 12 unit—Cyclops King. Please check your inventory."
Cyclops King?
Ethan blinked, then his grin widened even further.
A Cyclops King!
A ranged powerhouse from the Stronghold faction. In siege battles or large-scale wars, its destructive power and sheer presence were practically nuclear! Getting this was a stroke of incredible luck!
"Alright, next up—the random Level 3 spell scroll..."
In Glory Lords X, magic was one of the most terrifying forces in existence. Legendary Tier 5 spells were said to rival the power of gods—some could even kill gods outright! That alone spoke volumes about their strength.
For both players and NPCs, learning magic required mastering Wisdom first.
The higher your Wisdom, the stronger the spells you could learn.
Without enough Wisdom, even if you had a high-tier spell, you wouldn’t be able to learn or cast it.
But this system reward was different.
This spell scroll ignored the Wisdom requirement, meaning Ethan could learn a random Level 3 spell right now, even without the necessary Wisdom stat!
That made it insanely valuable.
Rip!
Ethan tore the scroll open.
Immediately, a surge of mysterious magical energy surrounded him, swirling in the air.
"Beep! Player ’Valkarion’ has used a random Level 3 spell scroll. Rolling... Beep! Selection complete!"
"Congratulations, player ’Valkarion’! You have learned the Level 3 spell—Celestial Fire."
Celestial Fire—a Tier 3 Light magic spell.
It was the signature ability of the ultimate Tier 13 unit, the Angel, dealing devastating holy damage.
Even better, it had a natural counter effect against units from the Inferno and Necropolis factions!
Ethan clenched his fists, his excitement reaching new heights.
This was huge! ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Celestial Fire... So this is the attack ability of a Tier 13 Ultimate Unit—an Angel?"
Without hesitation, Ethan cast Celestial Fire.
Whoosh!
A burst of pure, radiant flames ignited before him, exuding an overwhelming divine energy.
"Seraphina, can you gauge how strong this power is?" Ethan asked.
Seraphina extended one of her dragon claws and reached into the flames.
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!
The holy fire crackled against her scales, but despite the intense burning sound, she seemed mostly unfazed.
Tilting her head in thought, Seraphina finally spoke. "This fire... it’s about as strong as that Wyvern’s attack from earlier."
"Wyvern?" Ethan blinked, then his eyes lit up with excitement. "So it’s comparable to the damage of an 11-Tier Royal Unit? Not bad for a Level 3 spell..."
His gaze shifted to the last two rewards from the quest.
Two random Level 3 strategic artifacts
Two Hero Tier Advancement Scrolls (Purple)
In Glory Lords X, strategic artifacts were categorized into five—possibly six—tiers.
By the time an artifact reached Tier 5, it was practically a divine relic, possessing power on par with the gods themselves.
Level 3 artifacts weren’t quite at that level, but they were still incredibly powerful.
As for the Hero Tier Advancement Scrolls (Purple)—these could randomly increase a hero’s tier by 1 to 3 levels. However, they only worked on heroes below the Legendary (Orange) tier, and each hero could only use one in their lifetime.
"Wait... I can actually increase a hero’s tier?" Ethan muttered, momentarily stunned.
Just then, a familiar voice called out.
"Master, I’ve successfully captured Blackmire Castle’s Castle Heart!"
Elynn had returned.
She appeared before Ethan, bowing respectfully.
Remembering the earlier system notifications, Ethan immediately pulled up Elynn’s status panel.
