Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 66: Green Dragon Deity
Chapter 66: Green Dragon Deity
In reality, coming of age was just the beginning for Princess Seraphina. But even at this so-called "beginning," the power she possessed was something Elynn could never hope to attain—even if she reached her peak.
Not even close.
This was the difference of birthright.
The difference in Tier.
The gap between a Blue Rare Hero and a Crimson Ultimate Hero—so vast it was almost suffocating.
"Elynn."
Noticing the uncertainty in Elynn’s expression, Ethan gave her a light pat and asked, "What’s your goal?"
"My goal?" Elynn looked at Ethan, her gaze flickering. After a long pause, she finally spoke. "To become stronger! To conquer new lands for my lord and make Emerald Castle’s name known across the world!"
"I see..." Ethan chuckled before saying, "Then there’s no need for you to hesitate. Because right now, you’ve already become someone valuable."
"Someone... valuable?" Elynn blinked, looking at Ethan in confusion.
"Go tally up the battle casualties," Ethan said instead of answering directly, smiling as he spoke.
"Yes, sir..." Though still full of questions, Elynn would never disobey Ethan’s orders.
It wasn’t long before she returned to stand before him again.
She had already completed the casualty report for Emerald Castle’s forces. In truth, there wasn’t much to count—because this siege battle could only be described as an overwhelming victory.
"Reporting to my lord: The 9th-Tier Moon Doe unit, the 6th-Tier Grand Elf unit, the 6th-Tier Vestal unit, and the 11th-Tier Unicorn unit all sustained zero casualties!"
"The 7th-Tier Fire Elementals lost two soldiers, the 7th-Tier Pegasus Knights lost six, and the 8th-Tier Silver Pegasus Knights lost eleven. Lower-Tier units suffered some losses as well."
"However, during the battle, the Vestal unit activated their special ability, Blessing of the Sacred Dragon, twice—successfully reviving two of the fallen 8th-Tier Silver Pegasus Knights. So the actual number of Silver Pegasus Knights lost is nine."
Elynn delivered her report with precision and clarity the moment she returned to Ethan’s side.
"What do you think of these numbers?" Ethan asked with a smile.
Seraphina hesitated for a moment before replying, "Compared to Blackmire Castle’s losses, I’d say... these casualties are acceptable."
"Not just acceptable—this is a complete and utter victory!" Ethan interrupted, giving Elynn another reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"I told you before, the greatest credit for this siege belongs to you."
"Elynn, your leadership and strategic prowess are outstanding! If that weren’t the case, Seraphina and Cicero wouldn’t have followed your command so willingly. And Emerald Castle wouldn’t have been able to take Blackmire Castle with such minimal losses!"
Ethan wasn’t just trying to comfort her.
This was simply the truth.
An S-Rank mission!
A battle involving multiple high-tier units—9th, 10th, and even 11th-Tier troops.
A force that included 13th-Tier Legendary Units.
And yet, they had taken the enemy stronghold at such a minimal cost.
Two 7th-Tier Fire Elementals lost.
Six 7th-Tier Pegasus Knights lost.
Nine 8th-Tier Silver Pegasus Knights lost.
Some casualties among the lower-tier units...
Not even Ethan had expected this outcome.
And it wasn’t just him—Seraphina, Cicero, and the others were probably just as shocked. Maybe even struggling to believe it.
Was this victory solely due to Seraphina’s overwhelming power?
No.
The real key to this flawless success was Elynn’s seamless, precise battle strategy—executed without a single misstep.
That was her true worth.
She was, without a doubt, one of the greatest contributors to today’s victory.
"Everyone has their own value, their own path to follow. When people with different strengths come together, that’s what makes Emerald Castle strong. That’s what makes us unstoppable."
"Elynn, maybe your raw strength can’t compare to Seraphina’s. But don’t let that discourage you. The most incredible things in this world are hope and time—because they can turn the impossible into reality."
Ethan smiled as he spoke, then stepped past Elynn, moving forward.
And with that, he left her with one final thought.
"Believe in yourself. And just as importantly—believe in your comrades."
Elynn trembled slightly, standing still in silence.
At the same time, something massive descended before Ethan—an overwhelming presence, like a mythical beast stepping into reality.
Seraphina, now fully grown, stood before him, her gaze complex and unreadable.
Then, in the next instant—
A fierce wind howled, swirling with a dazzling emerald glow.
Rumble!
With a deep, resonating roar, the emerald storm engulfed Seraphina’s massive form, shrinking it down bit by bit.
And when the winds finally settled, a striking young woman emerged from the storm—her short, flowing hair a mesmerizing mix of deep blue and vibrant green.
Seraphina, in her fully matured form.
She took a slow, steady breath, then gracefully lowered herself onto one knee before Ethan.
With unwavering respect, she bowed her head.
"I, Seraphina, swear my allegiance to my master."
Ethan froze.
For a moment, emotions surged within him—unexpected, complicated.
How should I describe this feeling?
It was like watching a daughter you raised with your own hands finally grow up.
She had grown, matured even, but in doing so, it felt like she had lost that childhood closeness, that carefree intimacy.
After all, with the way Seraphina was now—her demeanor, her personality—maybe it really wasn’t appropriate for them to mess around like they used to.
Sensing Ethan’s silence, Seraphina’s eyes flickered slightly. She bit her lower lip, her expression showing a hint of discontent.
"Chirp chirp!"
Right at that moment, Cicero let out a playful cry and launched himself straight into Ethan’s arms.
Thud!
Ethan caught him effortlessly, holding him securely in his embrace. Cicero immediately burst into a triumphant giggle, wriggling around excitedly as if demanding praise.
"Hmph!"
Seeing this, Seraphina bit her lip and let out a soft huff.
Deep in her eyes, there was a flicker of... envy?
"Huh?"
Both Cicero and Ethan turned to look at her in surprise.
Gone was the dignified, commanding presence from earlier. Right now, Seraphina looked more like a little girl who had just had her lollipop stolen—awkward, sulky, and at a loss for words.
"Chirp chirp!"
Cicero suddenly leaped from Ethan’s arms and fluttered over to Seraphina, circling around her several times. He put his hands on his hips, giggled mischievously, and then, as if unable to resist, poked at her puffed-up cheeks, which were already swollen with frustration.
"Go away! Stop bothering me!" Seraphina snapped, her patience running out. She swatted Cicero aside, her teeth grinding in irritation.
"Chirp chirp!"
But Cicero wasn’t the least bit discouraged. He bounced right back, a sly grin on his face, and then leaned in close to Seraphina’s ear, whispering something in hushed, conspiratorial tones.
And then—
In just a matter of seconds, Seraphina’s entire body stiffened. Her eyes lit up, and an unmistakable excitement flashed across her face.
"What’s going on?" Ethan blinked in confusion.
But before he could get an answer, Seraphina suddenly transformed—her form shrinking down to the same small, youthful shape she and Cicero used to have in their earlier years.
"Chirp chirp!"
The very next moment, she threw herself straight into Ethan’s arms, clinging tightly to his clothes, nuzzling against him, chirping happily.
She was absolutely overjoyed.
"Pfft—hahaha!"
Ethan couldn’t hold back his laughter. Seraphina’s mix of pride and adorableness was just too much. He hugged her tightly, laughing heartily. Meanwhile, Seraphina, now thoroughly embarrassed, buried herself deeper into his embrace, her face practically glued to his chest. But even so, she refused to let go of his clothes, clutching onto them stubbornly.
"You..." Ethan patted her gently, a warm smile on his face.
He had assumed that after reaching adulthood, Seraphina would become more mature, more distant—no longer as openly affectionate as before.
Not because their bond had changed, but simply because that’s how people were. Growing up meant certain shifts in behavior, a natural evolution.
But now?
Now it was clear that no matter how much Seraphina had grown, her attachment to him hadn’t faded in the slightest. If anything, her little bursts of pride and stubbornness only made her cling to him more.
And that was a good thing.
It meant that no matter how much she changed, at her core, she still saw him—Ethan—as the center of her world. As her master.
A complicated mix of emotions flickered across Ethan’s face, but ultimately, joy won out.
Pulling her even closer, he murmured, "Seraphina, I’ll be counting on you from now on."
Seraphina trembled slightly, then tightened her grip on him, her voice unwavering. "You will always be my master! Always!"
Ethan chuckled softly. "Alright then, let’s see how much you’ve changed after reaching adulthood."
