Chapter 63: Zero casualties

"All combat units of Blackmire Castle, follow my command—charge out and fight!"

"Kill!"

With Garrick’s order, the troops surged forward. Unlike Elynn’s meticulous and well-orchestrated battle strategies, Garrick’s approach was far more direct—brutal, even.

Simply put, he was going all in.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Drums thundered, horns blared, and in an instant, the gates of Blackmire Castle swung open! A flood of warriors poured out like a swarm of locusts, ready to clash.

Leading the charge were the Tier 2 Werewolf Warriors, Tier 2 Gnoll Marauders, Serpent Flies, Dragon Flies, and more!

"Roar!"

Seraphina reacted first.

With a furious roar, her massive dragon form twisted with astonishing speed.

Then, she raised a claw beneath her, channeling the raw power of dragons. A vortex formed—dark and swirling, like a black hole—radiating an overwhelming force.

In the next instant, Seraphina struck.

Boom!

A hurricane-like shockwave erupted, crashing forward like a tidal wave! Low-tier units in its path were obliterated like mere weeds under a scythe. In mere moments, nearly a fifth of the enemy’s low-tier forces had been wiped out!

Just then, Elynn’s voice rang out.

"All combat units, listen to me—stop attacking the enemy’s castle walls!"

Ethan froze.

Stop attacking the walls?

Why?

Before he could question it, Elynn shouted again.

"Silver Pegasus Knights, follow my command—cut down the nearby trees as fast as you can!"

"Unicorn units, target the ground at the breach in the enemy’s castle wall—attack with full force!"

"Your Highness Seraphina, Your Highness Cicero—gather your strength and do everything you can to stop their forces from breaking through!"

...

In an instant, the Silver Pegasus Knights, the Unicorn units, Seraphina, and Cicero all moved in perfect sync with Elynn’s orders!

Boom! Boom! Boom...

One by one, massive trees crashed down, clearing the area and letting in more light.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

At the same time, three Tier 11 Unicorns unleashed their full power. Their bodies radiated a blinding white holy light as they charged forward, consuming everything in their path!

Then, in perfect unison, they lowered their razor-sharp horns and slammed them into the ground at the breach in the enemy’s castle wall.

Boom!

The earth trembled violently. A massive shockwave erupted, sending dust and debris flying in all directions. The sheer force of the impact knocked enemies off their feet, some even perishing in the chaos!

And then—

A colossal chasm, deep and gaping like an abyss, appeared before them!

Ethan stared, momentarily stunned.

What was Elynn trying to do?

On the other side, the enemy NPC heroes seemed just as bewildered.

Or rather, they hadn’t even considered the question.

To them, war was simple.

Just kill.

"Kill!"

"Slaughter them all! Wipe them out!"

The enemy NPC hero roared furiously, raising their weapon high and rallying their troops with a deafening battle cry.

"Roar!"

"Roar!"

The swamp-dwelling Fortress units surged forward, fearless and relentless, throwing themselves into battle without hesitation.

For every wave that fell, another took its place.

And then, even the high-tier elites joined the fray—Tier 7 Basilisks, Tier 8 Greater Basilisks, Tier 9 Gorgons, and Tier 9 Dark Raiders charged forward, crashing into Ethan’s forces with terrifying force!

But against Seraphina and Cicero, two towering Green Dragons, as immovable as mountains—

They all fell.

Their bodies piled up in the massive chasm, forming a grotesque mountain of corpses.

And then—

The enemy’s strongest high-tier units could no longer sit idle.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

"Woooo! Woooo!"

"Raaaah!"

From the depths of Blackmire Castle, the true monsters emerged—

Tier 11 Wyverns!

Tier 10 Mighty Gorgons!

Tier 10 Grim Raiders!

They stormed out, charging straight for Seraphina and Cicero!

But—

While the flying units could maneuver freely in the air, the ground units were too massive. The castle’s exits were too narrow.

And just like that—

They were stuck.

Blocked at the gates, unable to break through!

Ethan’s eyes widened in realization.

"So that’s it! Brilliant... absolutely brilliant!"

At last, he understood Elynn’s strategy.

Stopping the attack on the enemy’s castle walls wasn’t hesitation—it was tactical genius.

By keeping the walls intact, they had bottlenecked the enemy’s ground forces, trapping them inside!

Now, the enemy had only two choices:

1,Turn on their own allies, slaughtering their own troops just to clear a path.

2,Destroy their own castle walls, breaking their own defenses just to escape.

Either way—

It bought them time.

A golden opportunity to strike again and again, without resistance!

Only the flying units could bypass the trap.

But the enemy only had five Tier 11 Wyverns.

Powerful? Yes.

But not enough to turn the tide of battle.

Ethan couldn’t help but feel a surge of admiration.

Elynn’s ability to adapt on the fly, to execute such a flawless, calculated strategy—

It was nothing short of brilliant.

Like a modern-day Napoleon.

Or the reincarnation of General Patton.

Leading with unstoppable force.

"It’s almost time..."

Muttering under his breath, Elynn cast his gaze toward the Silver Pegasus Knight unit. "Silver Pegasus Knights, listen up! Toss all the chopped wood into the trench!"

He paused for a moment, then turned to Seraphina and Cicero, his voice firm and commanding. "Your Highness Seraphina, Your Highness Cicero—hold the line!"

ROAR! ROAR!

Seraphina and Cicero responded instantly, unleashing fierce roars as they launched into battle.

Even as they clashed with the five wyverns, they held their ground like immovable sentinels, standing firm at the two breached gates of Blackmire Castle. With the support of three 11th-tier unicorns, they blocked the enemy’s advance, refusing to let them take even a single step forward!

Meanwhile, more than twenty 8th-tier Silver Pegasus Knights worked at breakneck speed, filling the entire trench with massive logs.

Seeing this, Elynn turned her sharp gaze toward the 7th-tier Fire Elemental unit and barked out her next command.

"Fire Elementals, listen up! Target—the logs in the trench..."

"IGNITE!"

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Five 7th-tier Fire Elementals surged forward, unleashing their full power to set the entire trench ablaze!

As natural masters of flame, 7th-tier Fire Elementals could keep a fire burning indefinitely if they so desired.

BOOM!

In the next instant, a raging inferno erupted before Ethan’s eyes.

He froze.

His mind went blank for a moment, his jaw slightly agape in shock.

It was only now that he realized—Elynn’s plan wasn’t over yet.

There was still another phase?!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The heatwave surged, the flames roared.

Under the relentless efforts of the five Fire Elementals, the trench had transformed into a massive furnace, its blazing light devouring everything in its path!

At that moment, Elynn shouted once more. "Unicorn unit, fall back! Seraphina, Cicero—target the fire! Use your most powerful Venomous Dragon Breath!"

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

In an instant, the three 11th-tier unicorns swiftly retreated, withdrawing from the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Seraphina and Cicero soared into the sky, their wings beating powerfully as they ascended.

Their massive jaws opened wide, and an overwhelming surge of draconic energy began to gather within them. At the same time, their colossal wings snapped open in perfect unison, forming a stance that maximized their power.

As the energy in their throats reached its critical peak...

They unleashed a dual Venomous Dragon Breath!

BOOM!

A terrifying storm erupted, the sheer force of their combined breath attack surging forward like a tidal wave, roaring toward the raging inferno below!

Then—

It struck.

A devastating impact, as the twin torrents of venomous dragon breath crashed into the blazing fire with unstoppable force!

THUD!

A deep, muffled boom echoed through the battlefield.

For a split second, everything seemed to freeze.

A deathly silence fell.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the combined forces of the dual Venomous Dragon Breath, the raging storm, and the blazing inferno intertwined—merging, twisting, and coiling together at an astonishing speed.

And then—

Like a volcanic eruption—

BOOM!

A deafening explosion tore through the battlefield!

THUD! THUD! THUD!

RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

The terrifying force, centered around the trench outside the city walls, expanded outward in a violent shockwave, spreading in all directions with unstoppable momentum!

In mere moments, countless enemy units—trapped at the breached gates of Blackmire Castle, caught between advancing and retreating—were instantly engulfed by the devastating blast.

Then came the screams.

Agonized, wretched cries of pain filled the air as the lethal venom from the Venomous Dragon Breath and the searing flames worked in tandem—

Their bodies withered at an unnatural speed.

Their health plummeted like a sheer drop off a cliff.

And in the end—

All that remained were shriveled corpses, piled high like a grotesque mountain of the dead.

A chilling, blood-soaked spectacle.

But what was even more shocking—utterly unbelievable, in fact—was what Ethan saw next.

Even the high-tier enemy units who had barely survived the blast were now showing clear signs of poisoning.

Their health bars were still dropping.

"W-What... what the hell is going on?" Ethan’s mouth hung open, his face a mask of sheer disbelief.

"Master," Elynn responded immediately, her voice calm yet brimming with confidence. "Wind fuels fire. Fire amplifies the power of Her Highness Seraphina and His Highness Cicero’s Venomous Dragon Breath to its absolute limit."

She glanced at the trench, now overflowing with corpses, and continued, "And in extreme heat, the venom’s potency is preserved for a longer duration, allowing it to inflict repeated damage on the enemy."

She paused, her gaze sharp as she analyzed the battlefield.

"Furthermore, the venom accelerates the decay of corpses, while the heat drastically speeds up the formation of plague energy. Strictly speaking, plague energy is just another form of poison. Once it fully develops, it could potentially merge with Their Highnesses’ Venomous Dragon Breath, creating an even more devastating, long-lasting effect."

Silence.

Ethan stood there, utterly speechless.

He stared at Elynn as if she were some kind of war goddess, his face frozen in an expression of pure shock and awe.

His mind had completely short-circuited.

He simply could not process what had just happened.

Gulp.

After what felt like an eternity, Ethan swallowed hard.

Then, with absolute admiration, he slowly raised a thumbs-up toward Elynn.

"...You’re incredible."

To be honest, Ethan felt like his entire understanding of warfare had just been shattered and rebuilt from the ground up.

He had always known Elynn was a brilliant strategist, a natural-born commander.

But this?

This was on a whole different level.

By all logic, the siege of Blackmire Castle should have been a brutal, hard-fought battle.

And yet—

Emerald Castle’s casualties?

Zero.

Zero casualties.

That was unheard of.

That alone was proof enough of Elynn’s terrifying genius.
