Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 55: The March to Wishing Valley
Chapter 55: The March to Wishing Valley
"Let’s go back. It’s been about ten days now—Elynn should have finished her work by now!"
Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Ethan climbed back onto Cicero’s back and set off toward Emerald Castle.
At the same time, something new had quietly appeared in the once somewhat empty city of Emerald Castle—a grand structure radiating a holy aura. A cathedral!
[Cathedral of Light]
Special Building
Number of Cathedral of Light nests in the wild: 0
Can recruit 3 Vestals (Tier 6) every seven days
Recruitment cost: 20,000 gold
As soon as Ethan rode into Emerald Castle, his eyes immediately locked onto the striking new recruitment building. His face lit up.
"It’s done!"
"Master!" ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Lord Cicero!"
Elynn had spotted Ethan’s return as well and quickly stepped forward to greet him.
Standing beside her were five women dressed in sacred-looking robes.
Tier 6 special units—Vestals!
"You’ve already recruited them?" Ethan asked eagerly.
"Yes, Master," Elynn nodded and explained carefully. "The Cathedral of Light produces three Tier 6 Vestals every seven days. The recruitment cost is 20,000 gold. Since this was the first recruitment, we received two extra Vestals as a bonus, making it a total of five."
"Three every seven days?" Ethan’s eyes gleamed with excitement. That was a solid number!
Three per week meant about twelve per month.
In a year, that would be over a hundred!
Given enough time, they could build a formidable team of healers.
For Emerald Castle, this was a game-changer.
At the same time, Ethan pulled up the Tier 6 Vestal’s stats:
[Vestal]
Tier: 6
Health: 300
Attack: 7
Defense: 10
Special Abilities:
Divine Heal – Casts holy magic to heal injured units. The amount healed depends on the unit’s tier.
Blessing of the Sacred Dragon – 1% chance to randomly resurrect a fallen unit on the battlefield. Can be manually set to target a specific unit type.
"Healing and resurrection!" Ethan’s eyes sparkled as he muttered to himself in excitement.
Sure, 300 HP was fragile—like a biscuit ready to crumble.
But healing and resurrection? That gave them so much more control over the battlefield!
The 1% resurrection chance was low, but the fact that it could be targeted at a specific unit type made it incredibly valuable.
Take the Tier 8 Silver Pegasus Knight, for example—if just one gets resurrected, that’s an instant 100,000 gold saved.
That’s basically a miracle on par with hitting the jackpot!
ROAR!
BOOM!
Just then, a thunderous dragon’s roar echoed from the sky.
Before Ethan could even react, a powerful gust of wind swept down from above, engulfing him completely.
But before the wind could knock him off balance, a streak of light shot straight into his arms—
It was Seraphina!
"Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!"
Seraphina snuggled into Ethan’s embrace, rubbing against him affectionately, as if she were pouring out all her longing for him. Her entire being radiated dependence and warmth.
"Seraphina!" Ethan wrapped his arms tightly around her, holding her close before gently stroking her head with a smile. "Welcome home!"
"Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!"
Seraphina chirped excitedly, nuzzling against him over and over again, completely unwilling to leave his arms.
Seeing this, Ethan chuckled softly. Then, his expression turned serious as he looked toward Elynn.
"Elynn, get ready. We’re heading to Wishing Valley!"
"Yes!" Elynn nodded immediately, then turned and headed back to Emerald Castle to rally the troops.
The March to Wishing Valley
Before long, they set out toward Wishing Valley, launching their attack.
As for Ethan’s forces?
Tier 13 Green Dragons – 2 (Seraphina & Cicero)
Tier 8 Hero – Elynn
Tier 8 Silver Pegasus Knights – 32
Tier 8 Energy Elemental – 3
Tier 6 Vestals – 5
Tier 6 Grand Elves – 30
This lineup? Absolutely devastating.
With this kind of firepower, even a wild Tier 11 Unicorn Nest—which would normally be a serious challenge—wouldn’t stand a chance.
Ethan could feel the confidence surging through him.
At this point, there was only one question left to ask—
How could they possibly lose?!
Arrival at Unicorn Glade
Before long, Ethan and his forces arrived at the Unicorn Glade in Wishing Valley.
From a distance, the lush greenery, flowing streams, and breathtaking scenery made the place look like something straight out of a fairy tale.
Deeper inside, majestic unicorns roamed gracefully, their holy auras shimmering in the sunlight.
A quick count confirmed it—at least a dozen unicorns were present.
Ethan turned to Elynn. "Elynn, do you have a plan for the attack?"
Elynn’s eyes gleamed as she pointed toward the Unicorn Glade.
"Yes, I have a strategy in mind. Master, Lord Cicero, Lady Seraphina—please look over there..."
She gestured toward the valley’s terrain, her gaze sharp.
"The area is a low-lying river valley. If we use Cicero and Seraphina’s abilities to acidify the soil, turning it into a swamp, we can create the perfect opportunity to strike!"
She paused for a moment before adding, "Additionally, if we want to minimize casualties, we can consider a gradual elimination strategy—taking them down step by step."
"Take them down one by one?" Ethan’s eyes gleamed as he nodded. "Go on."
"I think we should consider having either Princess Seraphina or Prince Cicero hold off part of the unicorns on their own, while the rest of us surround and take down the others! That way, the toughest part will be at the start, but as the fight goes on, we’ll gain more and more of an advantage!" Elynn suggested.
"Great plan!"
Ethan nodded in agreement and immediately gave the order. "Alright, let’s do it. Cicero, Seraphina—you two will unleash your full power and hit the ground of Unicorn Glade with Venomous Dragon Breath! Catch them off guard and buy us some time."
"At the same time, all ranged units, focus fire on a single target! If you can kill it outright, perfect. If not, the Silver Pegasus Knights will charge in and finish the job!"
"Then, Seraphina, you’ll lure part of the unicorns away from the battlefield. The rest of us, along with Cicero, will take down the remaining ones! Understood?"
Roar! Roar!
Seraphina and Cicero let out deep, rumbling growls in response, signaling their understanding.
Shing!
Elynn drew her sword, her face hardening with the fierce determination of battle.
"Let’s begin!" Ethan’s gaze sharpened as he spoke in a low, commanding tone. "Elynn, you’ll lead this fight."
"Me?" Elynn froze for a second, but then clenched her teeth, steeling herself. She raised her sword high, pointing toward the sky, and shouted, "Ranged units, prepare to fire!"
Shing! Shing! Shing!
The 6th-Tier Grand Elves immediately pulled their bowstrings taut in perfect unison, their movements as synchronized as if they were a single entity.
"All Silver Pegasus Knights, enter battle stance! Await my command!" Elynn called out again.
Shing! Shing! Shing!
At her words, all thirty-two 8th-Tier Silver Pegasus Knights raised their swords, exuding an aura of deadly intent.
Seeing this, Elynn turned her gaze toward Cicero and Seraphina, her voice steady. "Your Highnesses, get ready..."
Rumble!
As soon as she spoke, Cicero and Seraphina spread their massive dragon wings wide, blotting out the sky.
A terrifying energy surged around them.
Boom! The overwhelming power gathered behind them, swirling like a tidal wave before condensing into a blinding green glow within their gaping maws.
At the same time, a disturbance rippled through the distant Unicorn Glade—the unicorns had clearly sensed something was wrong.
"Now!"
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
A deafening dragon’s roar erupted from Cicero and Seraphina as dazzling draconic energy surged around them. The glow in their mouths intensified, growing more and more fearsome.
Their immense power gathered, pulsing outward in waves.
In the blink of an eye, two massive beams of deep emerald energy shot from their mouths, streaking through the air before slamming into the ground of Unicorn Glade with devastating force...
BOOM!
A thunderous explosion shook the battlefield! The entire valley floor trembled violently, as if the very land itself was collapsing under the sheer force of the attack. Cracks spread like a spiderweb, and the ground crumbled apart with a deafening roar.
At the same time, the corrosive energy within the Venomous Dragon Breath rapidly dissolved and softened the earth, turning it into a vast, treacherous swamp.
Anything caught within it began sinking almost instantly!
The 11th-Tier Unicorns, in particular, became the primary victims of this devastating assault.
In mere moments, they were swallowed by the sinking ground, trapped in place!
But that wasn’t all—layered within the twin Venomous Dragon Breaths was an overwhelming destructive force, sweeping over the unicorns like an unstoppable storm.
And then—
BOOM!
Like a nuclear blast, the energy detonated!
"Screeeeech!!"
"Neighhh!!"
Agonized cries filled the air as the unicorns writhed in pain.
Their once-pristine, holy white coats were now drenched in blood.
Their flesh corroded at an alarming rate, massive wounds tearing open across their bodies.
Blood poured freely, exposing stark white bones beneath—an absolutely gruesome sight.
Yet, despite the devastation, the 11th-Tier Unicorns were still Royal Units—beasts of immense power. The scattered Venomous Dragon Breath had wounded them, but it wasn’t enough to kill them outright.
Elynn’s eyes flashed.
"Northeast! Closest unicorn! Ranged units, fire!" she commanded.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A dense storm of arrows shot into the sky like homing missiles, streaking toward their target.
The 6th-Tier Grand Elves never missed. Their precision was absolute—wherever they aimed, they hit.
And with their racial ability, Double Shot, there was always a chance their attacks would trigger twice the damage!
A deadly, game-changing advantage.
Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!
In the blink of an eye, countless arrows rained down on the 11th-Tier Unicorn, piercing its body and sending a mist of blood spraying into the air.
The unicorn staggered, its wounds deep and gruesome.
But it still wasn’t dead.
Elynn frowned slightly.
Just as she was about to give the order for the Silver Pegasus Knights to charge—
ROAR! ROAR!
A thunderous dragon’s roar tore through the battlefield, shaking the very air itself!
BOOM!
From high above, Seraphina dove down like a meteor, her massive wings wrapped in a terrifying green glow.
As she descended, razor-sharp wind blades erupted from her wings, slicing through the air with a deadly whistle—
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The unicorn was completely engulfed in the onslaught!
This time, it couldn’t withstand the attack.
With a final, desperate cry, the unicorn collapsed—slain on the spot.
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
Seeing one of their own fall, the unicorns of Unicorn Glade erupted in fury.
With a deafening battle cry, they charged forward—
The entire herd was coming.
