Mysterious Assistant of the Washed-Up Queen-Chapter 518 - 334: Change Another One, Luxurious Fragrance Lady
"Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap! I thought he was a noob, but he’s actually a pro?"
"Is that voice for real?"
"Damn, are you sure that part wasn’t synthesized? Can a human even make that sound?"
"Dolphin sound! That’s so awesome, I’ve finally witnessed a real dolphin sound!"
"What in the world is this ’dolphin sound’?! A *real* dolphin sound is... Oh, never mind. Just call it that if you want..."
When Xu Guang sang that part, the audience went wild. Many acted as if they’d never seen anything like this before, and quite a few even thought it had been computer-generated.
It wasn’t until some people who knew Li Guang explained that they realized the voice was genuinely coming from his throat.
Even with people vouching for him and real footage on the big screen, listening to the captivating, dreamlike sound coming through the speakers, many eyes remained in a trance.
"But did none of you watch the video on the big screen?"
"What video? You mean that background video? I was watching the performer the whole time. What about it?"
"It seems like the video was telling a story, but it wasn’t quite complete..."
"Huh? I wasn’t paying attention to it. Tell me about it..."
Some were focused on the singing, others on the singer, and some noticed the video playing on the big background screen.
At first, many people frowned upon seeing the animated video, wondering why anyone would use animation for a music video in this day and age.
But after watching it, they realized the quality was not bad at all, even better than many anime productions.
Later on, as they watched the fragmented storyline in the video, enhanced by the singing, many became deeply engrossed. Some, who were particularly empathetic, even started to cry.
Initial reaction: "What is this trash!"
Reaction now: "Damn it, it’s so sad I could die..."
"BOO HOO HOO, this song is too sad, isn’t it?"
"What? Sad song? How come I didn’t catch that?"
"That’s because you’re dense. If it wasn’t sad, why would they be crying?"
"Ah, well..."
On stage, the music gradually faded. When Li Guang opened his eyes for the first time, he saw the dense sea of glow sticks before him. The sight sent a jolt through his body, as if he’d been electrocuted.
He pinched his palms, drenched in sweat, almost dropping the microphone.
Fortunately, he remembered the microphone cost over 10,000 and quickly secured it again.
President Chu’s words before he went on stage were still echoing in his ears, and now he understood why she had said them.
"I remember you’re nearsighted, right? Don’t wear your glasses on stage. Once you’re up there, just focus on the rhythm, ignore everything else, and try not to look at the audience."
Looking back, President Chu’s foresight was spot-on! Imagine the fright of seeing all this right at the start. Over 10,000 people—what did that even mean? It was a dense mass as far as the eye could see. Even with my nearsightedness, the sheer number of people, combined with the bright glow sticks waving about, created an overwhelming sea of light.
As he stood there dazed, the voice of the stage manager came through his earpiece, prompting him to speak. Only then did Li Guang snap back to reality.
"Hello everyone, I’m Li Guang. The song I just performed is called ’Big Fish,’ and it’s about the story of a fish. I hope you all liked it."
Yes, the song was "Big Fish." The background video was created bit by bit by the new animation team Chu Tian had recruited, featuring some scenes from the "Big Fish & Begonia" of his previous life.
He had actually already acquired the rights to the entire anime, but for now, he had no plans to develop that aspect further. So, he had merely extracted some segments to better complement the song. As for the complete work, he might release it if a suitable opportunity arose, but currently, he had no such intentions.
"Thank you, thank you~"
Li Guang, following the plan, nervously introduced himself and then bowed to the audience while retreating backward.
The audience, who had been stunned by his voice and were discussing it, finally processed what was happening.
Seeing the young, shy singer nervously introducing himself on stage, they laughed and clapped vigorously.
The applause encouraged his singing and also served as an acknowledgment of his talent.
As Li Guang retreated, his eyes moistened at the sight.
Though he couldn’t clearly see the audience’s faces, he could understand their applause. He could discern whether it was sincere or merely polite, heartfelt or just a courtesy.
Human behavior is emotional, and emotions are contagious.
He was grateful to be on such a grand stage, and even more grateful to have encountered so many kind people.
So, Li Guang picked up the microphone again.
"Thank you, everyone. I appreciate your recognition. And thank you to Sister Qiu for giving me this opportunity!"
He had barely finished speaking when he started to rush off, afraid that if he stayed any longer, he might burst into tears or somehow mess things up, which would be disastrous.
But just as he was about to reach backstage, Li Guang seemed to remember something. He stopped dead in his tracks, spun around, and spoke into the microphone:
"Oh right, right! I wish Sister Qiu’s concert a full house for every show, and I wish you all good health and lots of fun!"
Xu Qingqiu, preparing backstage for her performance, was thoroughly amused by his antics. She was standing and adjusting her dress when his actions nearly made her collapse with laughter.
It wasn’t just her. The audience members had already turned their attention back, awaiting Xu Qingqiu’s appearance. His sudden remark, however, left them stunned for a moment before the entire hall erupted into laughter.
