Mysterious Assistant of the Washed-Up Queen-Chapter 505 - 328: Ren Ping, Trivial Matters in the Crew
"Yeah, we did spend quite a bit of money. Since we’re close this time, I might as well go check it out."
Xu Qingqiu nodded in understanding at Chu Tian’s response.
"Indeed. With so much money spent, we should definitely take a look. When shall we go?"
Chu Tian looked at Xu Qingqiu’s anxious expression and couldn’t help but laugh.
How had he not noticed that his girlfriend was quite the money-grubber?
Previously, she had only shown a bit of interest in visiting the film crew; her decision to go was still up in the air.
But once it was mentioned that a lot of money had been invested, wow, she couldn’t wait to rush over and take a look? Was this a set visit or an inspection?
Although that’s what he thought, Xu Qingqiu’s behavior made her especially endearing to him.
What’s wrong with being a money-grubber? Only someone who considers themselves part of the family would fuss over money like that. She was worried about his money; he felt nothing but happiness and had no other thoughts about it.
"Once we get there and settle in, and after we’ve arranged for everyone to have a two-day break, we’ll go over and take a look," he said.
「Two or three days passed in the blink of an eye.」
Having just finished shooting by the sea, the film crew moved directly to Yunnan Province for the next music video scene.
After arranging their stay at the hotel, Chu Tian and Xu Qingqiu put away most of their luggage. Then, they rented two cars and headed towards the film crew’s location.
Chu Tian had already contacted the film crew, so someone was already waiting for them as soon as they got off the freeway.
"Hello, President Chu. My name is Ren Ping, and I’m the producer of this film crew."
Not far from the freeway exit, an SUV was parked. Two people stood beside it, holding a sign that read "Candle in the Tomb."
Chu Tian and his group knew someone would be waiting at the freeway exit and had been carefully looking out, afraid they might miss them.
They hadn’t expected the other party to be so resourceful. Merely standing there was conspicuous enough, and the sign made them even more noticeable.
Not only did Chu Tian’s group see them, but other drivers on the road also took notice. Some who had read the novel were practically bursting with curiosity. Although they felt too shy to stop their cars, they still took out their phones to take pictures and share them with friends.
Chu Tian and his group naturally spotted them first and swiftly drove over. As soon as Chu Tian got out of the car, one of the men came up to greet him.
Chu Tian had seen Ren Ping at the company before. He was the producer specifically sent by Unlimited Entertainment.
To put it plainly, he was the company’s chief steward assigned to the film crew. He managed a team responsible for external relations and finances—vital areas the company needed to control and oversee.
Ren Ping was the leader of this entire team.
He had been in charge of this project even before the film crew was officially assembled. He was also considered one of the most outstanding core members from the initial batch recruited by Hou Yichuan; otherwise, such a significant project wouldn’t have been entrusted to him.
Ren Ping performed his duties excellently. He not only managed all tasks methodically but also handled interpersonal interactions with great finesse, saving the company considerable trouble.
The current scene was a testament to this. Upon hearing that the big boss was coming, even though he was managing projects worth tens or even hundreds of millions, he had still eagerly rushed over to wait respectfully by the roadside.
He had arrived with only a driver and one car, a move that was both low-key and showed appropriate deference. He had judged the situation perfectly.
Chu Tian was quite satisfied with this.
"I didn’t expect you to come personally. Thank you for your hard work."
"It’s my duty, President Chu. Everything is arranged over there. Would you like to go to the hotel first, or shall we get something to eat?"
The drive here wasn’t long, just over an hour. However, Chu Tian and his team hadn’t really rested since getting off the plane, let alone eaten.
At the mention of food, Chu Tian suddenly felt a pang of hunger.
"Let’s eat first. We can go to the hotel and rest afterward."
"Alright, President Chu. Please get in your car, and Yang will lead the way in his."
Yang was presumably the driver. He looked quite young and stood respectfully to the side without saying a word, appearing very sensible.
Chu Tian didn’t refuse. With cars constantly coming and going, this wasn’t the place for a long conversation. He nodded and got back into his car.
Ren Ping gave Yang a few instructions outside. Yang nodded and returned to the SUV. Only then did Ren Ping hurry over to the car Chu Tian was in.
After all, he was there to pick them up. Now that he had, it was only right for him to stay close.
Not to mention, he wanted to get closer to the big boss; he would have loved to ride in the same car as Chu Tian.
Even if that wasn’t his intention, Chu Tian had come from afar. If Chu Tian had any questions about the local area during the drive, who else could he ask if Ren Ping wasn’t there?
Ren Ping first glanced at the two cars that had arrived. The rear car held Sister Hua, Yiyi, and a few others, while the front car carried only Chu Tian and Xu Qingqiu.
He first went to the rear car to greet them and give the driver a few instructions. Then, he got into Chu Tian’s car.
Sure enough, not long after they set off, Chu Tian couldn’t help but ask.
"How have things been? Have you encountered any problems here?"
"Er... there have been a few, but they’ve all been resolved."
"Oh? What kind of problems? And how did you solve them?"
Chu Tian was actually asking this to get a better understanding of the situation on the ground.
Unlimited Entertainment was no longer a small company. With such a significant film project, the problems they faced were bound to be diverse and numerous.
