Unfortunately, there were only four E rank mice in the group of rats, but it was all good. After all, it was still a good amount of experience points I obtained from all of them.

It was a pity I didn't level up from that group. But it was still better than killing hundreds of rats to only obtain one level. If I faced a few more groups like that, I would easily be able to level up to level ten before going home today.

So far everything was good news. Then why was I running? A very good question.

Well, that would be because of that big rat behind all those smaller ones.

Not a D rank but a C rank. Impossible for me to defeat even if I were to invest all the stat points I gained from seven level-ups.

The only option left was to run. It was difficult for me to defeat a D rank monster right now. If a C rank one caught me, I would be sliced in half without even a little resistance.

Luckily, thanks to the system's full healing, not only my health was restored, but my stamina was also fully restored, making it very easy for me to run.

So that was how this condition was being contained. By casting a shield magic at the exit of the sewer which would hold these rats back.

The magic used was at least B rank and it was hidden well so that explained why I couldn't sense it earlier.

I sighed and exited the sewer.

Just like yesterday, I knocked on the nice lady's door.

After cleaning myself and taking another piece of clothing from the woman's husband, probably, I sat down on the floor, naked.

I didn't wear the clothes yet.

The reason?

I stunk.

Even though I washed myself, it wasn't of any help. I still smelled just as bad, or maybe a little less, but stunk either way. I didn't want to ruin the clothes as well.

First of all, I added eighteen points to the intelligence which in turn raised my mana.

That left me with seventeen points. I wanted to save these points at first but after facing that monster down there, I was having second thoughts.

This was a world of the awakened. Just having a body at the level of an optimal human wasn't enough. I needed to have more.

So I added five each to the rest. As I felt my body becoming warm due to the mana increment and full of power due to the stat increase at the same time, I calmed myself with deep breaths.

Cleanse. A utility spell at F rank. It used only twenty points of mana if used by the system but if I cast it without the system, it took a whopping 100 points. Hundred points I couldn't afford.

So instead of casting the skill, I moved on to the matter at hand.

After all, the good news hadn't ended yet.

Three functions of the system came online at once.

I opened the inventory first. Although I couldn't use the inventory before and had to waste the bodies of the rats, the system-extracted mana crystals were still stored in the inventory.

It was a bummer I couldn't use these crystals to raise my mana but that was okay. I could still use them to restore my mana by consuming them straight from the inventory like a potion.

And the best part about them was that, unlike mana potions, there was no cooldown time for these so as long as I had these, I had never-ending mana.

But even that wouldn't have been a useful aspect against that monster down in the sewers.

Anyway, with everything else out of the way, I looked into the shop to search for a skill. Using spells with my limited mana wasn't a good idea, even if I had mana crystals. Mana crystals were a resource that wasn't available in the shop and unlike mana potions, they didn't have a cooldown so I couldn't senselessly use them.

Damn. Fifty MP was a lot for such a low-level skill but when considering it was pretty useful in cases of bed, it was amazing.

And in my current condition as well because I smelled like a squirrel who had been dead for a month.

Other than that, it was quite useful to clean myself as well.

I mean, the other kind of cleaning.

If there was one thing I learned when I was transferred back to the more primitive worlds, it was how unsanitary everyone was when it came to certain aspects.

The number of diseases in common folks without mana or Ki was innumerable. And in certain cases, even those who possessed a great deal of power fell to the diseases of the genitals.

Cleanse helped a great deal to clean myself of any bacteria that was left on me or could be associated with any such disease.

I sighed.

Upon the opening of the shop, I get 100 coins. After that, I have to earn more by killing monsters or selling things to the system shop.

With just 50 coins, I wouldn't even be able to get a low-

level attack skill much less a skill that could upgrade as well.

I needed at least ten thousand coins for an upgradeable skill. And if I wanted just a one-time skill that would be useless after some time, even for that, I needed at least one thousand shop coins.

No doubt if I were to kill the rats in the sewer, I would easily be able to do it but I wouldn't be able to get past all of them without an attack skill and my mana wasn't enough to even cast a [Flame ball].

Haa...

I sighed once again and turned to the woman who was sleeping peacefully on the floor. I also had to pay her for her troubles and something told me that just pleasuring her wouldn't cut it.

I pulled a few F rank mana crystals. Since they were in the inventory and extracted by the system, they had no trace of filth on them.

Speaking of filth, I was filthy so I used 'Cleanse' on myself to get rid of that horrible stench and then moved on to put the crystals beside the woman. I didn't know what their worth was so I left ten F rank mana crystals, whatever they were worth to her.

I then left the house and made my way to my house;
