Chapter 82 -82 Voice Changer (4)_1
“Wennuan…”
“Shhh…” Qiao Wennuan lifted her finger, silencing Shen Liangnian with a touch to his lips. Lowering her gaze to his eyes, she spoke in a seductive whisper, “Liangnian, we’ve been together for two years, one more time won’t make a difference. Look at your body, its reactions… it’s telling me you want this too. So why suppress yourself like this?”
After speaking, Qiao Wennuan lowered her head, her lips sealing his once again.
Her fingers, painted with bright red nail polish, fiercely tore open Shen Liangnian’s clothes.
Shen Liangnian groaned, before suddenly turning over, pinning Qiao Wennuan beneath him…
…
At eleven o’clock in the evening, the doctor exited the emergency room.
It was deep into the night, and an eerie silence filled the hospital. Yellowish lights gleamed dimly at regular intervals along the hospital corridors.
Liang Chen was leaning against the wall, a pool of warm light from the low-hanging lamp above his head illuminating his handsome, alluring features.
However, his expression was somewhat unsettling.
Hearing the emergency room doors opening, Liang Cheng looked up.
He tried to stand, only to find his legs weak.
He had never felt this powerless before in his life.
Finally, with a rigid body leaning against the wall, he managed to ask, “How…how is she?”
Only upon speaking did he realize how dry his voice was.
His heartbeat pounded in his ears, each thud resounding faster than the last.
The lead doctor removed his surgical mask and said to Liang Chen, “The patient’s condition is critical. Her will to live is weak. We have done our best, but it’s possible that… ”
Liang Chen corrugated his brows, “Possible what?”
“Possible…that she might not survive the night.”
Liang Chen seemed to freeze on the spot.
She might not survive the night?
What does that mean?
Could Jing Haohao die?
After a long shock, Liang Chen snapped back to his senses and questioned, “Where is she now?”
“We will be moving her to the ICU shortly, you can visit her then.”
…
The intensive care unit.
Liang Chen stood beside the bed, watching Jing Haohao lying there peacefully.
She was connected to various machines by tubes, a thick needle was inserted into her thin arm. It was a frightening sight.
Her face was as pale as a ghost, devoid of any color. She lay there, seeming lifeless and weak, without the slightest spark of energy.
If it weren’t for the heart monitor at her side, beeping occasionally, Liang Chen would have thought Jing Haohao was already dead.
Right now, everything seemed surreal to Liang Chen.
He felt as if it were all a dream. He had just spoken to Jing Haohao at noon, her voice was as soft and sweet as glutinous rice as they spoke over the phone.
But less than an hour later, he received a phone call. An unfamiliar woman’s voice told him, “The owner of this phone was involved in a car accident at Suzhou Bridge, she’s in critical condition and is now at the People’s Hospital.”
For the entire afternoon, Liang Chen’s mind was in a haze, haunted by the voice in the call.
Now, seeing Jing Haohao like this, thinking about her not making it past tonight…
He would never be able to see the soft-hearted girl with large black and white eyes that, when looking at anyone, would make them feel as though the whole world was filled with innocence and gentleness.
