Chapter 47 -47: Deceive the Heaven and Cross the Sea (7)_1
Jing Haohao pursed her lips, feeling her heartbeat quicken. She clearly saw Liang Chen’s lips approaching. Just as she closed her eyes, wanting to turn her head away, his voice resonated beside her ear again, “Go wash up in the bathroom.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he let go of her, pushed himself away, grabbed a bathrobe, and tossed it to her.
Jing Haohao lifted her hand to catch the bathrobe, but she stayed frozen on the sofa.

Liang Chen cocked an eyebrow at her.
It was then Jing Haohao whispered, “I… I’m not feeling well today…”
“What?” It took Liang Chen a moment to understand what she was implying and he asked.
“I just… I got my period at noon today,” Jing Haohao’s voice wasn’t as soft this time, but she seemed scared and hesitant to look at him. “So… so it’s inconvenient.”
Upon saying this, Jing Haohao didn’t dare look at Liang Chen anymore.
She felt as though her heart had turned into a block of ice.
Her hand clenched into a fist. She whispered again, trying not to make a sound, “It’s true, I’m not deceiving you.”
About half a minute later, Chen abruptly pulled her towards him, unexpectedly reached under her dress, and touched a bulky, padded layer of material. He withdrew his hand abruptly and rested it around her waist. His head burrowed into the crook of her neck, immobile.
It was as though a bucket of ice-cold water had been poured over him. Instead of extinguishing the fire inside him, it made the flame burn even brighter. Breathing in the light, clean scent of Jing Haohao, he took several deep breaths. Rather than calming his restlessness, it left him feeling as if he were about to explode.
“Why didn’t you tell me when you called…” Liang Chen’s voice was harsh as he snarled at Jing Haohao. But he stopped himself midway.
It’s useless to yell at her. Don’t all women have a few of these days each month?
It just so happened that he encountered it. It wasn’t her fault.
When he didn’t see her, he didn’t feel this uncomfortable. Now that he had seen her, it was even worse. He felt as though his life was being tortured out of him.
If he stayed any longer, Liang Chen knew he wouldn’t be able to resist. He glanced at Jing Haohao a few times, then suddenly pushed her away. He grabbed his car keys and phone from the table, picked up his coat, and walked out the bedroom door.
Every minute that passed, Jing Haohao heard the sound of a car engine starting downstairs. Afterwards, the entire room sank into silence.
Only then did Jing Haohao breathe a sigh of relief. She was finally… safe for the time being.
…
That evening, Jing Haohao did not leave Liang Chen’s villa.
Because she needed to tell Liang Chen in person that she was going to a small city in Yunnan for six months to film a drama.
He might think she was deliberately avoiding him whether she called him, or if she told him after she had already arrived in Yunnan.
She had already lied to him about breaking up with Shen Liangnian. Therefore, she had to act obedient, but also fearful, to make him think she didn’t have the guts to play games with him.
