Chapter 46 -46: Deceive the Heaven and Cross the Sea (6)_1
The elevator quickly rose to the second floor, the doors sliding open.
Jing Haohao’s legs felt weak, almost devoid of strength. It took her a while to muster the will to step out of the elevator and walk, with a measure of effort, towards the door she was directed to by the servant.
Jing Haohao stood at the door, mentally reexamining every detail of the plan she had prepared beforehand to ensure no loopholes were left. Once she was certain, she steeled herself, then raised her hand, ready to knock. But before her knuckles could touch the surface, the door was abruptly pulled open from the inside.
Jing Haohao jumped, startled. She looked up to see Liang Chen, casually dressed, staring back at her with a smile. “You’re here?” he asked.
Jing Haohao did not respond, merely pursing her lips. Her hand hung by her skirt, subtly tightening its grip on the fabric as a testament to the apprehension she felt towards Liang Chen.
Despite her extensive preparation, facing this omnipotent “Young Emperor” and starting the intricate play she had schemed seeded a faint trepidation within her.
She was aware that the man before her was not an easy one to fool. A single minor flaw in her act might lead to disastrous, irreversible consequences.
Liang Chen’s eyes scrutinized Jing Haohao’s appearance, studying her from head to toe. She was wearing a conservative, simple dress that day, and her long, soft hair hung gracefully at her back, its dark lustre accentuating her radiant complexion. His gaze finally rested on the small hand clutching her skirt’s hem. After a few seconds, he moved aside and said, “Come in.”
Having said that, Liang Chen turned and strolled back into his room nonchalantly.
The bedroom was spacious, sparsely furnished. Two frosted glass doors stood within its interior. Peering through those, Jing Haohao vaguely made out a bathroom behind one and a dressing room behind the other.
Liang Chen casually took a seat on the sofa, a hand resting on the backrest and with the other, he patted the spot beside him. “Sit here,” he instructed.
Such a simple gesture and ordinary invitation were projected with an undeniable dominance and prestige by him.
After Liang Chen finished speaking, Jing Haohao hesitated for a considerable duration. It wasn’t until he raised a brow did she reluctantly and hesitantly move towards him, clearly conveying her inner turmoil of resisting and fearing him through her actions.

When Jing Haohao sat on the couch, she kept a careful distance from Liang Chen. He frowned, reached out, and pulled her into his embrace.
During her days at home, she had often imagined this scenario – where any physical contact with him would induce resistance and nervousness from her.
She had secretly practised how to react, but none of the attempts were satisfactory.
Now that Liang Chen was actually touching her, she found her instincts naturally reflecting the emotions she had rehearsed.
In fact, she felt a strong urge to push him away.
But she knew she couldn’t… So, she suppressed her desire, her body rigid like a stone.
“Relax…” Liang Chen’s voice was low and raspy, laced with a touch of sensuality.
Jing Haohao merely kept her gaze lowered, remaining silent.
Liang Chen reached out to lift her chin, but she instinctively tried to evade. He tightened his grip, locking eyes with her wide, doe-like gaze before chuckling. “Are you really this scared?” he asked.
