My Wife is My Life!-Chapter 327
When he received Ji Qingqing’s phone call, he imagined many scenarios in his mind and went over all the things he wanted to say. He was anxious and uneasy, but when he really saw Ji Qingqing, he realized there was nothing he needed to worry about. In this lifetime, he would accept whatever Ji Qingqing wanted.
“Do you still blame me?”
Ji Qingqing’s hand, which was wiping his wound, froze. Then she whispered, “No.”
“Really?”
Ji Qingqing let out a small sound in response.
“But there are some things I want to talk to you about.”
Seeing that Ji Qingqing did not disagree, Lu Lixing lowered his head and leaned toward her.
He whispered, “Qingqing, there’s no one in the world who isn’t afraid of death. Admitting that you’re afraid of death isn’t a weak thing. Three months ago, I almost died in that car accident.“
“Grandpa refused to let me go and forced the doctors to perform futile life-saving measures for a month. I was very tired and had injuries of varying degrees all over my body.”
“My heart stopped several times, but I was successfully revived. When I was conscious, I could only rely on painkillers and couldn’t move, just like a paralyzed person lying in bed waiting to die. I know my own body and I knew then that I won’t be able to live for long, but I didn’t want to make Grandpa sad.
“When the system first appeared, I couldn’t believe such absurdity could exist in the world. I thought I was hallucinating or had developed a mental disorder at first, but when you hugged me, all the pain in my body vanished in an instant.
“I felt incredibly light and relaxed as if I’d never been hurt before. I have to admit that at first, when I slept with you and called you my wife, gave you roses, and even chased you to the film set, it was all for the sake of my own survival and completing the tasks that the system assigned to me.
“That time I sent you the credit card, intending to let you spend 500,000 yuan. I had everything planned out, but you insisted on paying the bill with your own card, so I had to go find you. I swiped the card successfully at the very last second before the system’s deadline. That was the nearest time I’d ever come close to death.
“People who have survived big waves will treasure life more.
“And the roses, the proposal…” Lu Lixing paused, continuing in a low voice, “I did lie to you. I admit that I used you to some extent to prolong my life, but I don’t admit that my proposal to you was solely for the sake of the system’s task, nor do I admit that announcing our relationship to the public was to prolong my life.
“In all of these tasks, I laid out my true feelings. I won’t force you to recognize these things right now, but I hope that you can accept them in the future.
“Ji Qingqing, I love you. It wasn’t love at first sight, but if you think that isn’t enough, every day from now on I will love you more than I did yesterday.
“Believe me, I will spend the rest of my life making it up for you.”

A tear fell on Lu Lixing’s fingertips, leaving a little dampness, and scalding his finger slightly.
“Did I hurt you?” Ji Qingqing asked.
“No.”
Ji Qingqing lowered her head, continued to clean his wound and applied medicine, wrapped it in medical gauze. A few tears fell again on his fingers.
Lu Lixing sighed and wiped the tears from her cheeks with his right hand. “Don’t cry, I’m really fine.”
Ji Qingqing stubbornly refused to look up. Her cheeks rubbed against Lu Lixing’s hand which wiped her tears. As he caressed her, she felt the warm temperature of his hand as well as the thin layer of calluses on the tip of his hand. She felt no pain, just a tingling sensation.
Ji Qingqing raised her head, her red eyes filled with tears. With a choking voice, she asked weepingly, “Did you have to work so hard every day?”
Lu Lixing was stunned.
Ji Qingqing’s nose was flushed as she looked at him, her eyes filled with a heart-wrenching expression that was reflected in his eyes. A warm current flowed through his heart and Lu Lixing’s Adam apple rolled in his throat.
Seeing that Lu Lixing didn’t answer, Ji Qingqing asked again, “Were you that tired every day?”
Lu Lixing smiled after coming back to reality. “It was tiring before, but now it’s not so tiring.”
“Because the task got easier?”
“No, the tasks were getting harder.”
“Oh?”
Lu Lixing whispered, “Because now I am willing to do these tasks for you.”
Ji Qingqing pursed her mouth tightly, stared at Lu Lixing for a while, then suddenly burst out laughing.
“Have you forgiven me?”
Ji Qingqing laughingly cried, “No.”
Her words carried a heavy nasal sound as she muttered, “Unless you buy me clothes that cost more than 500,000 yuan, send me 99 roses, accompany me to the film set to shoot a movie, and also… also propose to me again…”
Feeling the scab on Lu Lixing’s palm, Ji Qingqing sniffed and corrected herself. “Forget the proposal, I believe you are sincere. But all the things that you were unwilling to do before, you have to do them willingly again. Otherwise, I will never forgive you.”
Lu Lixing laughed.
Ji Qingqing continued to treat his wounds.
The flesh and blood of his palm were exposed and the wound was white.
“Don’t do this again next time.”
“What?”
Ji Qingqing looked up at him with a clear expression on her face. “Don’t give up your life for me.”
Lu Lixing smiled. “You are the reason I’m alive today, how can I not want to live?”
He stared into Ji Qingqing’s eyes and said, “I haven’t asked before. Obviously, the mission failed, but why am I still alive?”
Ji Qingqing lowered her head to pick up the gauze and medicine but was pressed down by Lu Lixing, forcing her to look at him. “Why am I still alive?”
Ji Qingqing decided to keep her mouth shut and forcingly smiled. “I don’t know either.”
“You really don’t know?”
Ji Qingqing nodded hesitatingly.
She didn’t want Lu Lixing to know about her deal with Xiao A. If Lu Lixing knew that she could only live to 50 years old, 40 years old, or even less, she would not be able to heartlessly tell him…
Lu Lixing is 30 years old this year. If I count it like that, he won’t have many years left to live.
