My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 221 - 215: Good for Nothing, Number One in Debt
All eyes turned to see Flora Guthrie walking in, followed by disciples from a collateral branch of her family.
She wore the Sect Leader’s Robe of the Ghost Eye Sect, which was simple yet imbued with a solemn dignity.
The Guthrie elders in the hall immediately stood up, respectfully performing the Ancient Martial Ceremony to greet her.
Reina Guthrie’s expression was grim. ’She’s here for trouble,’ he thought.
"Sunstone doesn’t interfere in the disputes of the Great Families. Master Flora Guthrie, what is the meaning of this?"
Flora Guthrie was escorted to the head seat and said nonchalantly, "What are you so nervous about? I’m only offering a suggestion. You can listen or not. I’m here today to settle the matter concerning my disciple. Joyce Guthrie dared to harm someone from Sunstone. She deserves to die."
"You..."
But Flora Guthrie suddenly waved her sleeve, and a teacup from the table shot instantly toward the chest of one of Reina Guthrie’s confidants.
The Martial Arts Master was sent flying back a dozen steps, smashing into the wall and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Reina, the evidence of Joyce Guthrie hiring someone to commit assault is ironclad. If you fail to give Sunstone an explanation today, the Guthrie Family will be annihilated—"
Flora Guthrie stood with her hands clasped behind her back, her expression serene, but her voice struck like a death knell, sending a tremor through everyone’s heart and draining the color from their faces.
"Master Flora Guthrie, please, calm your anger! Joyce Guthrie is from Reina’s line. This has nothing to do with the other branches!"
"Exactly! We’re all of the same clan. We’re still family, through and through."
"Lana, hurry up and talk some sense into her!"
Lana Guthrie, standing nearby, looked even more unconcerned than Flora. "If we’re going to die, we’ll die together. What is there to be afraid of?"
"..."
Reina Guthrie glared daggers at Flora Guthrie. He never expected that in the past decade, she had actually reached the realm of a Grandmaster.
’No wonder she dared to come to the Guthrie Family alone.’
Flora Guthrie looked at Reina and spoke bluntly. "An untaught child is the father’s failing. Lord Guthrie, how do you intend to answer for this?"
The Guthries inside the room looked on nervously, instinctively shrinking back, terrified that Flora’s wrath would turn on them.
The four Hidden Sects of Sunstone were complementary and inextricably linked. If Flora Guthrie decided to make trouble for the Guthrie Family, the other three sects would lend their full support. Then, the Guthries would truly be finished.
"Reina Guthrie, you indulged your daughter’s violent crimes and brought harm to our own people! You are a disgrace to the Guthrie Family and must be expelled!" a clansman shouted.
"That’s right! As the Head of the Guthrie Family, you’ve shown disrespect to Sunstone, angered the Morgan Family, and brought disaster upon us all. You are unworthy of the title of Family Head..."
"I support deposing the Family Head..."
Someone in the room already started to move toward Reina Guthrie to restrain him.
Reina Guthrie’s gaze swept over the clansmen who were normally so submissive and respectful. Now, every single one of them was glaring at him with contempt. He suddenly gave a self-mocking sneer, which then erupted into booming laughter.
"Reina..."
"Hahaha... Flora Guthrie, did you really think I wasn’t prepared?" After his fit of laughter, Reina’s gaze, filled with malice, fixed on the woman in the head seat.
He had been jealous for decades. Now, his moment had finally come.
Flora Guthrie’s expression changed, and she shot to her feet, slamming her hand on the table.
Just then, numerous assassins in silver masks appeared outside.
Every one of them was a battle-hardened veteran, their Power radiating an intense, murderous aura.
They were all assassins from the Shadow Organization.
The hand Flora Guthrie held behind her back slowly clenched into a fist, and a green light flashed from her wrist, hidden inside her sleeve.
"Flora Guthrie, I was just wondering how I’d deal with Aurora Sinclair and Alvin Morgan, and here you are, walking right into my trap. I paid a fortune to hire these experts. Every single one is a Grandmaster..."
Flora Guthrie glanced at the men and sneered. "Colluding with a hostile power is an act of treason."
Reina Guthrie looked down, stroking the Jade Ring that symbolized his status as Family Head. He chuckled. "Apart from me, who’s going to know?"
The killing intent in his words was chilling.
"Reina, you dare—" one of the Guthrie elders inside slammed his hand on the table and shot up.
But before the words were out of his mouth, an assassin snapped his neck.
Jensen Guthrie quickly pulled Zane Guthrie behind him as they cautiously moved closer to Flora.
"Don’t worry, Flora. I won’t kill you. Not before you’ve handed over the ultimate techniques of the Ghost Eye Sect."
Reina wore a triumphant smile, eager to see fear in her eyes. But instead, she suddenly sat back down and said calmly, "Lana, pour the tea."
Lana walked over, got a new cup, and poured her more tea.
Reina pressed his lips into a thin line, his fists clenching. "You really aren’t afraid of death," he said through gritted teeth.
Flora picked up her teacup, took a delicate sip, and then said something completely out of left field. "Reina, do you know why the villains always die in the movies?"
Reina froze.
"Because they talk too much..." A cheerful, feminine voice drifted in from the doorway.
A cute girl in black night clothes stood smiling in the doorway.
Behind her stood Aurora Sinclair, dressed in a matching black outfit.
Leigh Miles clapped her hands together and muttered with apparent dissatisfaction, "They went down way too easily. How much did you pay for them?"
She carefully stepped over the unconscious assassins piled at the entrance and walked into the room.
She blinked at the last assassin standing inside and asked loudly, "How much would it cost to hire you?"
The assassin’s eyes narrowed warily. A silver light suddenly flashed in his hand as he lunged at Leigh Miles.
The dagger was just inches from Leigh when a fair hand shot out and clamped down on the assassin’s wrist.
With a sharp CRACK, the assassin’s wrist snapped.
Immediately after, as if struck by a tremendous force, his body was sent skidding back seven or eight meters. He landed hard on his knees, coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, and collapsed.
A direct knockout.
Aurora Sinclair slowly withdrew her hand and stood quietly beside Leigh.
"Is that really Grandmaster-level strength? They seem way too weak. Old man, you definitely got ripped off." Leigh strolled forward a couple of steps, hands behind her back, and Reina instinctively stumbled back.
His face was a mask of terror as he stared at the perfectly calm Aurora Sinclair.
Those were bona fide Grandmasters, with a mission success rate of over 95% on the dark web, yet Aurora had knocked them all out with a single punch.
’Could it be... is Aurora Sinclair...’
’...a Martial King?’

The room fell deathly silent.
The Guthries barely dared to breathe.
They stared at Aurora Sinclair, their faces filled with utter horror.
Leigh suddenly grinned. "Don’t be nervous! We came to save you. Just remember to pay our service fee!"
Flora Guthrie, who had just taken a sip of tea, nearly choked. She shot Leigh a look. "Are you that hard up for cash?"
Leigh’s expression immediately crumpled as she began to plead poverty. "Auntie Flora, I’m in debt for another hundred million."
Flora was stunned, then utterly speechless.
’Those people from the Radiant Void Sect... useless at everything except getting into debt.’
Leigh pulled out her phone and trotted over to Reina. "Lord Guthrie," she asked with a grin, "how much did you pay to hire those assassins? We won’t overcharge, the standard market rate is fine. So... who’s going to handle the bill?"
The Guthries: "..."

「The next day.」
The Guthrie Family held a press conference to issue a formal apology to the Morgan and Sinclair Families. They also announced that Zane Guthrie would be the new Head of the Guthrie Family.
As for Reina Guthrie, he had been taken into custody by the Martial Affairs Bureau on suspicion of colluding with the Shadow Organization.
All the online posts that had been slandering Aurora Sinclair and Alvin Morgan were instantly wiped clean.
Then, someone started a new thread on a much more personal topic.
"So when are the Morgan and Sinclair families getting married?"
Surprisingly, the thread wasn’t deleted. In fact, the Morgan Group’s official account even posted a reply.
[The timing is up to the lady. The gentleman has the marriage license ready to go at a moment’s notice.]
"So sneaky..."
Arthur Lockwood grumbled, staring at his phone.
He couldn’t believe how much had changed in Kingsford in the short time he’d been away leading his team at a tournament.
The Guthries had changed their Family Head, and now the Morgans were making an official announcement?
It looked like they were making a big, public show of taking Aurora Sinclair under their protection.
Meanwhile, at the Sinclair residence, the phones were ringing off the hook with calls from the other Great Families, all congratulating them on the impending marriage alliance with the Morgans.
Master Sinclair rapped his cane hard against the floor, his expression thunderous. "Who agreed to a marriage alliance? Where is Aurora?"
Butler Sinclair nervously wiped his face. "She’s... gone abroad with Young Lord Morgan."
