My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 144 - 138: Morgan Made the Master Angry
The International Free Fighting Competition is held once every four years. It features separate brackets organized by national Combat Power Levels. Contestants below the Martial Arts Master level are only allowed to compete in the same level’s bracket once.
Because advancing in Combat Power becomes increasingly difficult at higher levels, contestants from smaller countries might not advance a major level for years. Consequently, the higher the level, the fewer the participants. This allows those at the Martial Arts Master level and above to compete multiple times.
Dean Morgan had already competed in the Great Martial Master Level tournament three years ago but lost to a contestant from Crestland. This caused the Morgan Family’s standing in the Martial Alliance to drop significantly.
He has been striving to break through for the past three years, hoping to return to the arena and avenge his defeat. However, it wasn’t until today that he finally succeeded in advancing to the rank of Martial Arts Master.
Currently, there are only a few dozen people in the Veridian Martial Alliance who have reached the Martial Arts Master level. Most of them are from the Lowell Family, followed by the Lockwood and Vance Families, with the rest belonging to other families.
Within the Martial Alliance, only those at the Martial Arts Level or higher can enter the upper echelons and participate in decision-making. Currently, the Lowell and Lockwood Families each have a Ninth Rank Grandmaster. Therefore, these two families are the primary decision-makers in the alliance, with other families choosing sides.
The Lowell and Vance Families are related by marriage, so their interests are intertwined. To counter them, the Lockwood Family and other families have banded together, choosing to advance or retreat as one. As a result, the Veridian Martial Alliance is divided into two factions that check each other, maintaining a balance of power.
As for the Radiant Void Sect, although they hold the title of senior honorary advisors in the Martial Alliance, they do not join either faction. They operate behind the scenes to balance the various powers in Veridia’s Martial World, ensuring no single family dominates the Martial Alliance for personal gain.
That’s why when the Lowell and Vance Families formed their marriage alliance, Master Aerion balanced the power within the alliance by personally instructing the Morgan Family’s guards in martial arts.
Now, with Dean Morgan becoming a Martial Arts Master, the growing influence of the Lowell and Vance Families within the Martial Alliance will be balanced once again.

Several rounds of drinks and dishes later...
The more Master Aerion drank, the more spirited he became. After Master Aerion finished another bottle, Leigh Miles directly grabbed his hand as he reached for more wine.
"Master, you can’t have any more! You’ve already had five bottles. That’s the limit Apothecary Warner set for you."
Master Aerion chuckled and flicked Leigh Miles on the forehead. "Such a little busybody already. You’ll never get married at this rate!"
Blushing, Leigh Miles unhappily took away his cup and bottle, saying with a hint of embarrassed anger, "Who wants to get married? I’m going to stay with my senior sister until we’re old. If she can’t get married, then I won’t either. I’ll just stay with her..."
At that, Leigh Miles ran behind Aurora Sinclair, hugged her neck, and nuzzled against her.
"Why can’t she get married?" Alvin Morgan set down his cup, his gaze fixed on Master Aerion.
"I know! The sect rules say the Sect Leader of the Radiant Void Sect cannot marry. Since Senior Sister will be the next Sect Leader, of course she can’t get married..." Leigh Miles answered first.
But Alvin Morgan let out a soft laugh. "Ridiculous..."
"Insolent—"
Master Aerion’s expression hardened. He slammed his hand on the table, and with a CRASH, all the cups on it shattered.
Beta Morgan’s face paled. He quickly moved to stand in front of Alvin Morgan, his eyes wide with terror as he tried to placate the master. "Teacher, please calm your anger..."
"Since when are the rules of the Radiant Void Sect subject to the whims of an outsider?" Master Aerion was now clearly displeased, glaring sharply at Alvin Morgan. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
But Alvin Morgan’s expression didn’t change. He looked at him just as calmly. "When you decided all this, did you ever consider her feelings?"
Master Aerion glanced at Aurora Sinclair and said flatly, "Nothing can be accomplished without rules. The Radiant Void Sect’s rules have existed since ancient times. From the day they join, every disciple must obey them, unless they wish to cripple their own martial arts and be expelled from the sect. Dawn Miles, do you wish to leave the sect?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head. She stood and cupped her fist in a respectful, traditional salute to Master Aerion. "This disciple does not! This disciple will abide by Master’s teachings."
"Aurora..."
"Morgan, I am a disciple of the Radiant Void Sect. I will naturally abide by the sect’s rules."
Alvin Morgan was at a loss for words. Beneath the table, his hand clenched into a tight fist.
Master Aerion stood up, looking down at Alvin Morgan. In a somewhat stern tone, he said, "Your Morgan Family has its own responsibilities, and our Radiant Void Sect has its own mission! Let’s not meddle in each other’s affairs. As for this meal, this humble Taoist thanks you for it."
With a CLATTER, an unremarkable wooden token was tossed in front of Alvin Morgan.
The two ancient characters for "Radiant Void" were carved on the front. The back was engraved with a special symbol representing the Radiant Void Sect, which strongly resembled a Five Elements and Eight Trigrams formation.
Aurora Sinclair pressed her lips together, glanced at Alvin Morgan, and followed Master Aerion out.
Leigh Miles winked at them and whispered, "Master will be fine in a couple of days..."
Then she pulled Titus Miles out of the small pavilion.
At the courtyard gate, they ran right into the newly successful Dean Morgan and his brother, Benjamin Morgan.
Dean Morgan didn’t know what had just happened. He was delighted to see Master Aerion and bowed formally before him. "Thank you, Teacher..."
But Master Aerion just snorted coldly and walked past without stopping.
Aurora Sinclair returned his bow. "Congratulations..." Then she continued to follow Master Aerion out.
"This..."
Leigh Miles whispered, "Morgan made Master angry..."
"Leigh Miles—" Master Aerion’s voice called from ahead.
Leigh Miles stuck her tongue out at him, quickly shut her mouth, and pulled Titus Miles into a trot to catch up.
Watching the backs of the master and his three disciples, Dean Morgan suddenly had a feeling that his young master had just been blacklisted by the Radiant Void Sect.
"What just happened?"
"Go ask—"

After leaving the Sichuan restaurant, Master Aerion suddenly turned to look at Aurora Sinclair. He had been about to say something, but when he saw the complete trust in her eyes, he swallowed his words.
Finally, he sighed and patted her hair. "Dawn Miles, your master was too impulsive just now. I shouldn’t have gotten angry at your friend..."
Aurora Sinclair shook her head.
"He was right about one thing. Your master didn’t ask for your thoughts before deciding your future..."
Aurora Sinclair shook her head again.
"Your senior brother isn’t exceptionally talented; Grandmaster is his limit. Leigh Miles and Titus Miles are too young. Right now, in the Radiant Void Sect, you are the only one who can take your master’s place..."
"Master, I understand."
Master Aerion ruffled her hair again, very gratified.
’Thank goodness she’s willing.’
"Dawn Miles, study hard in Kingsford. Your master is heading back to Sunstone now."
With that, Master Aerion seemed to walk on the wind, disappearing around the corner in moments.
Just then, Beta Morgan caught up to them. Seeing they hadn’t left, he breathed a sigh of relief. "I’ll give you a ride back. Hey? Where’s the teacher?"
"He went back to Sunstone!"
"Huh? That fast?" Beta Morgan looked ahead in disbelief, but Master Aerion’s figure was already gone. A sense of awe washed over him.
In the car, Aurora Sinclair received a farewell call from Jared Miles, which made her feel a little down.
"Sigh... why is everyone leaving? I feel like we’re poor little things who’ve been abandoned!" Leigh Miles pouted, saying this with great dissatisfaction.
Beta Morgan glanced in the rearview mirror and asked with a smile, "Your senior sister has military training next week. What will you and Titus Miles do?"
"Military training? Did the acceptance letter from Arcadian University arrive?"
"It did, a couple of days ago. Barron is holding it for you. Aurora got into the Archaeology program at Arcadian University’s Academy of History."
"Then how many days will my senior sister be at military training?"
"Two weeks."
"Ah... Doesn’t that mean Tiger and I will really be like abandoned children next week?" The thought of not seeing Aurora Sinclair for the next half-month made Leigh Miles even more dejected, and she hugged her arm, nuzzling against it.
Beta Morgan laughed. "Don’t worry, Mr. Beta will take care of you. Room, board, and even a salary. How about it?"
But Leigh Miles shook her head. "No way. Senior Brother will get angry."
"Why?"
"He’s afraid you’ll poach the three of us."
Beta Morgan: ...
