My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 26: Idiot
Chapter 26: Idiot
As he gazed at the humongous door adrenaline rushed around Elian's body. A week ago he couldn't even imagine standing in this place. Although he had to give his humanity for power, what he had become was something far stronger.
Like a creature that had outgrown its skin, he couldn't imagine going back.
"Alright, let's do this! Status Window."
___
Name: Elian Reed (M)
Talent: Adamant (S) | Driven (S) | Forged (SSS)
Level: 19
HP: 22,789 / 23,504 | MP: 10 / 10
Strength: S | Intelligence: S | Agility: B
Job: Living Metal (SSS)
___
"Tsk. After all that I only grew by 3 levels. System, is it normally this hard to grow in levels? I practically killed everything in this dungeon, and I still can't get to level 20."
[Leveling up requires you to reach your limit and surpass it. The more you grow, the higher that limit will be. Each level is relative to your body. Inherent potential, creates the biggest difference.]
"Huh? What does that even mean?"
Elian then felt the return of a quiet chill. One he sorely missed.
"It means, that while you need ten times more experience, each of your level ups is worth ten of everyone else's. The same happens for stats, a typical level up gets you 1-3 in one stat. You gain 10 to 30."
Seeing the beauty of his master, Elian bowed in reverence, "Welcome back, Bianca."
"Thank you, Elian. For everything..." the woman replied with a soft smile.
The weapon made a simple nod and continued to gaze at his master. Bianca's skin flushed at the attention. She made a small cough and continued.
"Ehem, as I was saying Elian. Forged gives you immense potential." Like a diligent teacher, Bianca began creating floating ice dolls to illustrate her point. "If a typical breaker potentially would have 3,000 in stats by level 100, you have the potential to greatly exceed that."
"I see, the price of sacrificing our humanity is bypassing its inherent limitations." Elian murmured. "So that's how you became so powerful. You gave yourself Eternal—and turned yourself into a lich."
Bianca flinched. Visibly. Not from the deduction, but from the word. Lich.
"That is... not wrong," she said slowly, her voice stripped of its usual chill. "I removed my soul. Bound it. Possessed what was left. It made me untouchable—a being who stepped beyond death." She hugged her own arm. "But also someone who no longer belongs among the living."
Elian blinked. "Then how did they corner you like this?"
For a moment, she said nothing. The silence felt painful.
"Another time," she whispered.
Elian could easily imagine how that would play out. Like zombies in human stories—even a blow to the heart or losing her head wouldn't kill her. Unless they knew her core was what they needed to destroy.
Few would associate such a beauty with a rotting corpse like a Lich.
Given Bianca's immense power, and the fact that her soulgem still remained in one piece, she did survive. But that was it. Her mind and ego nearly faded into nothingness, if not for Elian coming along. And clearly her traumatic end gave his master deep wounds only he could see.
I should no longer be human, but why does seeing you like this hurt?
"Okay, we all have the time in the world. I can wait," Elian replied trying to sound cheerful.
As if trying to clear the air, Bianca looked at Elian and asked in her usual tone.
"Before we enter, are all your preparations in order?"
"Yeah, retooled the snakes, they are now in the other parts of my armor. I compressed my own body to raise my defense, although it made me significantly heavier."
"Be that as it may, you look rather dashing compared to before. The oversized gauntlet is a bit much, but the black cape and horned crown made you look quite majestic."
Elian seeing his master's praise grew pleased. He gave a small nod of appreciation, along with a promise.
"Haha, I'm glad you liked it. Can't look like a slouch if I am to be by your side. Wait till you see what it can do, I'm excited to give everything a whirl."
"Seeing your weapon, I doubt the boss can even give you a challenge. A Red Ant queen isn't really powerful, but it is hard to kill as it escapes when it starts to lose. But on another note, just how heavy is that thing to be fully made of onyx?"
Chuckling, Elian raised his foot and then lowered it. He sank down a full inch, like he was flattening the ground. "I call this onyx color, my heavy mode. It gives the best defense but makes me sink like a brick. Next, I'll build a version that swims. After that? One that flies."
"Truly, I cannot even comprehend your way of thinking. Most Breakers would already be content with your power now. Yet you are already thinking of fighting in environments where you're guaranteed to lose. You are quite terrifying as an enemy."
"You are afraid of me?" Elian questioned with furrowed brows.
"I am but for a different reason. I am not scared of you taking my life. Not anymore. But I am quite worried about you overdoing it and dying for something meaningless."
Hearing her comments, Elian grew annoyed and retorted, "Hmph. I feel the exact same way. Like I suddenly got entrusted with a temperamental spoiled brat who hates to eat her greens."
"You! You are likening me to a child? Insolent! I am Bianca Valestra! I am the Witch of the Frozen Night! I will not be...Hiii!"
Elian then pulled out a Soldier Ant core still drenched in ichor and juices. Bianca visibly flinched in disgust. Her face darkened as she tried to stop herself from retching. Elian then approached her, the core still dripping in his hand.
"S-Stop! Stop that! Haven't I already eaten enough of these? These taste like you're eating dirty socks! I get it already! Anything but another ant! You can say that since you aren't the one eating them!"
"Then if I join you and eat one for each one you do, will you stop dallying and eat already?"
"..."
Seeing Bianca puff her cheeks in frustration, Elian tried to remain stoic but inwardly he was already gushing at how adorable his master was being. He put away the core and turned to the boss room in front of him.
"Elian, you idiot."
"Yes, yes, I am an idiot. Now how do I open the door? Let's hope the boss tastes better at least."
[Place your hand on the door and supply it with mana.]
"..."
Elian's face twitched at the system's explanation. Despite gaining lots of levels his mana remained at ten. Bianca's lips curled into a smile as she began to gloat in happiness.
"Such a shame, guess we will stay out here for the rest of your lives. If only there was someone who had an overabundance of mana. This is what happens when you get too full of yourself. They always say..."
The boy ignored the woman who began to lecture him. Instead, he began to touch and investigate the door.
"It is pointless Elian. Just bow your head and beg me to open the door for you. I will do it. But you have to promise to destroy all the Ant cores you have hoarded. I refuse to eat even a sliver of Red Ant cores ever again," Bianca crowed in triumph.
"No need."
"Huh? What do you...."
Elian widened his stance, then raised his greatsword above him in an overhead position.

"If it won't open for me..."
The living metal from the weapon shifted and pooled. It lost its onyx luster and turned black. But as a result the blade swelled from 1.5 to over five meters and grew wider turning into a giant war hammer.
"Then I will just make another door."
And he slammed it down with all his soul.
CRASH!
The oversized mallet struck the boss door. Unable to endure the weight, large fissures ran across the door's surface, then it broke apart. Large chunks of it fell to the ground revealing the chamber beyond. Bianca stared at the shattered stone, lips twitching in irritation.
But her eyes... gazed at her companion in awe.
"Elian, you truly are an idiot."
