My Werewolf System-Chapter 1305: Unwinnable Fight (Part 1)
Evard was staring at what was in Lupus's hand in disbelief. The blood cannon—a stable move used by the vampire leaders. It gathered a massive amount of aura and blasted it outward. In some cases, it could even injure the vampire using it.
However, the original vampires, as they were called, had far better healing properties. So even if they took damage, they could quickly reform and continue to fight. Still, none of that took away from the move's devastating power, and here, he had seen Lupus condense it down into a ball.
How is he able to condense blood aura? Evard thought. I've met a number of Alphas in the past, and I've heard their tales of how they fought, but I've never seen anything like this.
Blackjack, watching from a distance, was starting to feel better after downing the contents of his flask. But after seeing what had just occurred, he only had a few words to say.
"Evard… he's in trouble."
There was one thing everyone had gotten right tonight, the Altered hunters placed in the middle of this entire situation had no idea what was really going on.
With the condensed energy pulsing in his hand, Lupus hurled it toward Evard. It flew through the air at frightening speed, and even before it reached him, Evard could already tell, the ball of energy was unstable. It expanded and detonated mid-air.
The others could see a red dome of energy exploding outward, damaging everything within it. A few moments later, Evard was spotted, running and dodging off to the side.
"HAHA! I think I recognize your scent now," Lupus called out with a wild grin. "I've heard tales about you. You're an Original, right?"
Evard started to swing his arms at a rapid pace. It wasn't just one blood swipe now, but a flurry of them. Several slicing waves of red energy tore through the air, all heading straight toward Lupus.
If he can condense energy, then let's see him condense this many attacks! Evard thought, launching everything he had. The attack's were able to move slight as well, so they werne't just coming at him at a straight angle.
But it didn't matter to Lupus.
From the very beginning, before this match had even started, he had already known, when it came to raw power, there was one clear superior.
"I think it's time I gave you settlers a warning," Lupus said, placing one hand behind him and bending his knees low. "Never step into my home again."
Visible white energy flowed around his hand, swirling violently. The aura itself was forming into the shape of a claw, wrapping around his fingers like living armor.
Austin, looking up at the fist from afar, felt a chill run down his spine. It was the first time he had seen this move.
That's similar to what Gary can do… right? But it looks different, almost like an enhanced version. The whole time he was fighting me… he didn't even use his full strength. He didn't have to!
Just as the first blood swipe came close to hitting Lupus, he swung his arm out. A giant claw-shaped strike burst forth, crashing through all the blood swipes. It didn't just shatter them, the attack could be seen visibly cutting through the air itself.
Evard, using all the speed he had, dashed out of the way. His eyes widened as he watched the claw strike continue to fly, getting larger and larger. It wasn't just an illusion. It was expanding, ripping through parked cars, setting off alarms, and slamming into a distant building. The force tore straight through it.
The building was several streets away. The destruction was beyond impressive.
"Lupus, what are you doing? Didn't you say this is your home?!" Edvard shouted, charging forward. Blood aura now flowed from his body, coiling around his arms and legs like a storm.
If ranged attacks weren't going to work, then he had no choice, he'd have to take Lupus on directly. It was a risky move, but what other option did he have?
Edvard reached him and struck, hitting Lupus in the chest with as much blood aura as he could muster. But Lupus barely even budged. When Edvard moved to dodge, Lupus pounced with startling speed and grabbed him around the torso.
His nails dug deep into Edvard's flesh as he lifted him into the air, and flung him.
"You're worried I'll cause trouble for the people? You see yourselves as saints, right?!" Lupus growled, his fist glowing with that same white energy. He swung it straight into Edvard's chest.
The force flung Edvard high into the air before crashing him down into the ground. Cracks erupted outward, just like when Austin had been slammed into the floor. The whole area trembled under the impact.
Those living in nearby apartment buildings were beginning to wake up from the commotion. It wasn't the middle of the night anymore, and as they looked out their windows, they were witnessing things they couldn't understand.
Lupus landed on the ground with a heavy thud. Now, both of his hands were glowing with that same ominous energy.
"You're always here to clean things up, right?" he shouted. "So it doesn't matter how big a mess I make, you people will always come into our home and clear it up. So come on! Let the whole world know we exist! And I'll make sure to clean you up."
Edvard burst out of the crater he'd been smashed into. His body was healing, but he was clutching his side. Blood dripped from his mouth.
"This is not good," Blackjack muttered. "He can't win this. It's impossible. Not without that armor!"
