My Talent Panel Can Add Points-Chapter 47 - 46: Blood-colored Venerable
Ye Mingqiu’s hand trembled slightly, and suddenly he thought of an image.
The Bloodthirsty Butcher went berserk during an experiment, madly destroying everything, tearing up a photo of his daughter. Yet, in his monstrous state, he still retained part of his paternal will, forcibly piecing the photo together and writing a line of words in a crooked, scrawled handwriting. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Could it be like this?
Perhaps, his handwriting in his notes is always neat. In normal circumstances, he would never produce such twisted writing... he was a worthy adversary.
My family... ha...
Ye Mingqiu felt slightly lost, but he quickly digested this emotion. After all these years, he had long grown used to being alone.
After tidying up the spoils of war, he left.
...
The following morning, at the cafe
Ye Mingqiu entered the cafe, bringing with him the fresh post-rain air; he waved to the manager with a smile and said, "Good afternoon, manager, today I’ve come bringing money."
"Welcome,"
The old manager replied with a smile.
"A cup of macchiato."
Ye Mingqiu sat in the corner of the cafe, enjoying the serene and tranquil atmosphere. The all-night battle had left him a bit tired in the morning. Drinking a cup of coffee to restore his spirit would be more conducive to the actions to follow.
The money he had was scavenged from the Bloodthirsty Butcher. Though the latter was a Red Hermit, the Red Hermits were blood-colored monsters hidden among humans. Since they needed to hide, they couldn’t avoid interacting with others, and the most basic of these interactions involved having money.
More importantly, all the experiments conducted by the Bloodthirsty Butcher required massive funds. Without money, he wouldn’t have been able to acquire so much experimental equipment, let alone conduct experiments and research.
Moreover, most of the equipment he bought wasn’t standard experimental equipment, so there was no way to purchase it through online transactions—most had to be bought with cash. Ye Mingqiu seized a substantial amount of cash from the other party’s laboratory.
"Ah~"
Ye Mingqiu stretched out brutally. Last night, staying up all night reading those research materials had exhausted him, but in return, he gained a lot.
First, the Red Hermits are the product of humans gaining Blood Power, the root of Blood Power being Boiling Blood, with Boiling Blood originating from Source Blood, which comes from the Blood-colored Venerable.
According to legendary records, the Blood-colored Venerable has existed since ancient times. He once ruled the world, viewing all of its creatures as food.
Later, a Hero was born, wielding a sharp sword, who killed the Blood-colored Venerable, chopping his body into over 1800 tiny fragments. Boiling Blood scattered across the sky, and Source Blood was devoured by various creatures.
In reality, however, the Blood-colored Venerable did not die. He revived from tiny blood clots, and infused his will into Boiling Blood and Source Blood, so that everyone who obtained Boiling Blood and Source Blood had to use humans as food.
This wasn’t a necessary part of life; it stemmed from the Blood-colored Venerable’s curse on humans, an endless hatred towards that human Hero.
And all the Source Blood in this world was born from that time.
The Blood-colored Venerable, "killed" by the Hero, has since remained hidden in the human world, quietly accumulating power, controlling the forces of the Red Hermits, reclaiming Source Blood, or reclaiming the Red Hermits with Source Blood.
Historical records suggest that, to this day, the Blood-colored Venerable still hasn’t healed the sword wound left by that Hero, so he doesn’t dare act lightly. Even if he made a move, he couldn’t wield the full strength of his peak.
Not sure if any of this is true.
Ye Mingqiu already knew a lot of information, but the second-ring task still wasn’t completed.
This wasn’t due to insufficient information obtained, but because the task deadline hadn’t arrived, and the prize pool could still accumulate. There was no need to rush with submission. If more information were obtained within the remaining time, more benefits might follow.
[Task Completion: 256%]
[Task Status: Submittable]
Beyond the experimental data, after killing the Bloodthirsty Butcher, he also gained a Bronze Treasure Chest. Unfortunately, his recent luck was poor, and it only exploded to yield...
A bag of salt
Ye Mingqiu nearly threw the bag of salt onto the ground in anger. Logically speaking, defeating a Level 3 while being Level 1 should come with an extra bonus rate on the treasure chest, and the probability of obtaining good things should be higher. However, his luck was simply terrible; even with the boost, he only got a bag of salt.
Staring at the piles of household supplies within his Storage Space, he fell into contemplation.
Am I really this unlucky with openings?
Thankfully, after killing the Bloodthirsty Butcher, there was still a guarantee, the Bone Blade of the Bloodthirsty Butcher.
[Bone Battle Blade]
Tier: One
Quality: Silver
Category: Giant Blade
Attack Power: 22-26
Equipment Requirements: Power 20
Weapon Traits:
① Overbearing: When attacking with this weapon, if Power is greater than the opponent’s, it has an additional 20% penetration damage.
② Destruction: Attacks come with a built-in destruction attribute.
Overview: A weapon polished from the remains of an unknown creature, the material is extremely tough, with incredible destructive power. Perhaps... it may have uses beyond just a weapon.
An extremely potent weapon, its attacking performance even surpassing the Blood Spear, because it possesses a destruction attribute, making its destructive power notably stronger, whereas the Blood Spear is more adept at enhancing survival capacity.
Ye Mingqiu suspected that this Bone Battle Blade might be bones from the Blood-colored Venerable in his heyday.
The Bloodthirsty Butcher mentioned in his notes that this Bone Battle Blade was snatched during a gang skirmish, something even he claims the Blood-colored Venerable is unaware of (or so he believed), but in truth whether the Blood-colored Venerable knows remains uncertain.
Perhaps the Blood-colored Venerable knows but doesn’t care, or maybe he really doesn’t know.
All in all, this weapon is not simple. One should refrain from pulling it out often in this world, or risk attracting greater danger from the Blood-colored Venerable’s followers.
"Snap!"
The crisp sound of the door opening echoed, and a familiar face appeared at the cafe: it was Chang Feng. He glanced at Ye Mingqiu sitting in the corner, his expression noticeably changed.
He suspected Ye Mingqiu might be that Cyan-Faced Fangs monster but didn’t dare to confirm.
"Yo, good morning~"
Ye Mingqiu waved with a smile, as if he were happily greeting an old friend.
"Morning... morning."
On the other side, Chang Feng wasn’t all that happy. While he felt Ye Mingqiu might not be that Cyan-Faced Fangs monster, as Ye Mingqiu claimed to be a Mage and even used Magic, the chance was too risky to bet on.
Winning the gamble yields nothing, but losing it means losing one’s life. Only the most brainless person would gamble with their life!
"How did last night’s adventures turn out?"
"Alright, just the usual."
"Oh."
Ye Mingqiu nodded, then asked, "Why are you back at this shop again? Do you like it here? Or is there... some other reason."
His smile was warm and bright, yet in Chang Feng’s eyes, it seemed ominous, like a demon smiling at him. It appeared welcoming on the surface, but in the next moment, he felt he could be consumed without a trace left.
Chang Feng took a deep breath, smiled, and replied, "My friend likes coffee, so I chose this shop for our meet-up, no special reason."
"Oh~"
Ye Mingqiu nodded.
So there are other "friends," huh~
