Chapter 70: Chapter 70: So What?

"Did I ever say I was worried about her?" Jared Quinn spoke again with a chilly tone.

The butler’s face stiffened slightly, "Aren’t you going up now? Might as well."

Jared Quinn lowered his eyes to the hospital kit in the butler’s hand for a moment, then took it and walked upstairs, "Might as well take it up."

The butler "..."

Inside the bedroom, the sound of water splashing continuously came from the bathroom. Jared Quinn pushed the door open, his gaze lingering on the bathroom door for a second before moving closer, knocking twice on the door, "Open up."

"What do you want?" Hearing Jared Quinn’s voice, Melody Thorne immediately crossed her arms defensively in front of her chest, staring warily at the doorway.

"The medical kit," a trace of darkness flashed across Jared Quinn’s handsome face as he caught the defensive note in her voice. Earlier, when she undressed and tried to seduce him in his bath, she hadn’t been this guarded.

Hearing the words ’medical kit’, Melody Thorne glanced at her body. There were several spots on her fair skin scraped when she fell—very painful.

She reached out and opened the bathroom door slightly, extending her small hand.

Jared Quinn lowered his gaze, focusing on her arm. Her skin was as white as porcelain, dotted with translucent water droplets, rather seductive...

He quickly averted his gaze, withdrawing his hand, and turned to leave, his voice indifferent, "Put it on the table, get it yourself."

Melody Thorne "!!", what a jerk.

She withdrew her hand, washed a few more times, put on her pajamas, and went out. Her eyes fell on the medical kit on the table, then she angrily turned away and climbed onto the other side of the big bed, wrapping herself tightly in the quilt to sleep.

"Want me to help?" Jared Quinn smoked a cigarette, exhaling clouds, giving her a glance with unaffected demeanor.

Upon hearing this, Melody Thorne got up because she knew Jared Quinn’s words carried a threat; perhaps in the next second, he’d be as fierce and ruthless as when he kissed her by the abandoned building today.

After some thought, Melody Thorne took the medical kit, pulled back her clothes, and applied ointment on her wounds.

Jared Quinn’s gaze never left her body. Watching as she applied the ointment from her injured calf to her knees and arm, his deep dark eyes gradually took on a layer of thin ice.

Once everything was done, Melody Thorne yawned and lay down to sleep.

At Aethelburg Academy, in the temporarily constructed film set for a rehearsal.

Melody Thorne deliberately arrived a few minutes late,

a large group of people was surrounding Ivy, who stood proudly in the middle of some women, listening to their sycophantic compliments.

"Ivy, this time Director Irving’s lead role has to be yours."

"Absolutely, our Ivy not only looks good but has a great figure and impeccable family background. Who could possibly snatch it from her?"

"Ivy, don’t forget to help us sisters out once you get cast as the lead."

Ivy laughed lightly in pride, "Don’t worry, none of you will miss out."

They were all willing to be overshadowed by her; how could she not see it through?

Someone walked past Melody Thorne and stood by her side, their gaze filled with resentment as they looked at Ivy, softly saying, "Those two who kidnapped you yesterday were hired by Ivy."

"So what?" Melody Thorne turned her head to look at Jean Gage beside her, "You knew about this first and didn’t tell me—what’s the point of saying it now?"
