My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 486: Who Else Could It Be But Him?
She wanted to know immediately how Mr. Quinn was doing.
In her impression, Mr. Quinn couldn’t have fallen ill so quickly, nor should anything have happened to him at this time.
"Let’s go," Jared Quinn said as he led Melody Thorne and the doctor to the office.
"Here’s the X-ray," the doctor handed over all the examination reports to Jared Quinn, including today’s heart surgery.
"Based on the examination results, the old man experienced extreme stress and was both mentally and physically tormented, which is why he fell ill so quickly. Unlike previous times, this one is more severe, and... and we discovered..."
"Discovered what?" Melody Thorne tightly gripped Jared Quinn’s fingers, losing control.
"Discovered that the old man’s heart is nearing failure, so he might not have much time left."
The veins on Jared Quinn’s arm bulged with his emotions, straining against his restraint. "Solutions."
The doctor’s back was chilled, feeling troubled, since the old man’s physical function was evidently failing. "According to past rescue cases, a heart transplant is possible, but given the old man’s age, it’s uncertain whether he can endure such a surgical burden, not to mention that finding a suitable heart quickly is impossible."
"No matter what method, he must be saved!" His deep voice was filled with anger.
The doctor closed his mouth entirely, beads of cold sweat rolling down his back. God knows he actually wanted to suggest preparing for Mr. Quinn’s passing.
Based on their experience, the old man wouldn’t last long.
"I’ll immediately gather everyone for a meeting," the doctor gritted his teeth, fearing that if they didn’t save Mr. Quinn, they might as well pack up and leave. Even if they just delay, they had to find a way.
After all, the old man had been kind to them.
"Jared," Melody Thorne shook Jared Quinn’s arm, calming his current rage, and spotted the key point. "Did you hear what the doctor just said? Someone must have upset Grandpa. Mom clearly said no one upset him. Could Grandpa have met someone himself?"
Jared Quinn lowered his eyes to gaze at her, then took her out of the office. The surgery room doors opened, and the old man was moved to the VIP suite.
Melody Thorne and Mrs. Quinn stayed in the ward, which also had other bedrooms for rest.
Jared Quinn called back to the old house. The butler checked on Mr. Quinn’s daily routines over the past few days, including whom he recently met, but he hadn’t met anyone alone, and whenever he met someone, there was always someone accompanying him.
Nothing was found that matched with what the doctor described as experiencing significant stress and physical and mental torment.
"Did Titus return these days?" Jared Quinn asked calmly.
"The second young master returned, but he only stayed for a few minutes. He just greeted Mr. Quinn briefly and left hurriedly."
Jared Quinn hung up the phone. He had always had someone following Titus, yet his men were utterly useless, not even keeping an eye on him properly.
"Jared, is everything alright?" Melody Thorne leaned over with concern. Mr. Quinn hadn’t regained consciousness yet.
And Jared hadn’t entered the ward, making her a bit worried. "Did you find out who upset Grandpa?"
Jared Quinn’s lips tightened into a straight line. Only Titus Quinn had visited the old house once. Other than him, who else could it be?
Melody Thorne didn’t wait for Jared Quinn to speak; she already had a vague answer in her heart. But could Titus really be that heartless?
