My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 339: Please Say It
He is a merchant, everything a merchant does is within his calculations, who would want to do a losing business?
Melody Thorne didn’t notice the gleam in Jared Quinn’s eyes. If she had, she would have immediately jumped off this hungry wolf.
"Young master, Mrs. Thorne is here," the butler’s voice came from outside the villa.
Melody immediately jumped off Jared, checking her clothes to see if there was anything amiss.
Mrs. Thorne is different now than before, she needs to be more mindful.
"Alright, stop looking, everything’s fine," Jared pulled her arm. "Don’t forget you are now Mrs. Quinn, the mistress here."
Melody still nervously glanced towards the door, but what would Mrs. Thorne be coming here for?
The butler and Mrs. Thorne quickly entered, with Rochelle Thorne following behind her.
"Master Jared," Rochelle rushed over like a gust of wind to Jared, her eyes glowing as she stared at him.
Jared Quinn was undoubtedly the most handsome and charming man she had ever seen.
His power here was unparalleled, a man like him was a rare find.
If... if... Rochelle was still thinking of other things.
Jared’s gaze already passed her, looking instead at Mrs. Thorne behind her, "Mrs. Thorne, please sit."
"Alright, alright," Mrs. Thorne’s eyes unconsciously glanced once more at Melody, perhaps because of their past bond, making it hard for her to speak.
But unable to resist Rochelle’s constant pestering, she had no choice but to bring her here.
"Mom, have some tea," Melody acted as if she’d forgotten what happened at the hospital, pouring tea intending to bring it over.
Jared quickly pulled her back, making her sit down obediently. The butler promptly presented the tea, "Mrs. Thorne, please have some tea."
"Thank you, sorry to trouble you this time, I do have some matters to discuss."
"Please speak, Mrs. Thorne," Jared remained expressionless, making it impossible for anyone to read his thoughts. One of his arms, whether intentionally or not, wrapped protectively around Melody.
Mrs. Thorne found it difficult to start speaking.
"Mom," Rochelle walked over, shaking Mrs. Thorne’s arm. "Don’t forget what you just promised me, please say it."
Mrs. Thorne was in a dilemma, but Rochelle had been with her for years, and she had grown accustomed to giving her anything she wanted, her heart was entirely on her daughter.
"Mr. Quinn, it’s like this, I understand there is an engagement between you and the Thorne Family, previously we didn’t know..." Mrs. Thorne paused as she glanced toward Melody before continuing, "We didn’t know Ms. Melody wasn’t a child of the Thorne Family, so we let you get married. This matter is the Thorne Family’s fault..."
Jared’s brow twitched slightly, already beginning to vaguely understand what Mrs. Thorne wanted to say.
Melody’s hand instinctively clenched the corner of Jared’s shirt as she looked towards Rochelle, signaling the butler with her eyes.
The butler headed outside.
"Mom, quick, speak," Rochelle’s eyes stayed fixated on the man on the opposite sofa, but Jared’s eyes were so intimidating that she dared not look directly, only occasionally glancing out of the corner of her eye.
Melody had already noticed all this, so she raised her hand to stifle a yawn, pretending to be a bit sleepy, resting her head on Jared’s shoulder.
