My SSS-Rank Skill and System is too OP in Modern Cultivation world-Chapter 62: A Dark Showdown 788 sudden attack.
---
Kent adjusted his backpack, whistling cheerfully as he looked for any treasures the fallen Ghouls might have. "SIGH! These ghouls are poor; there is nothing good here!"
He feels 788 is very silent for some reason. But the silence behind him didn’t sit right. "Why so quiet back there, 788? You’re mad about the momos?"
Ding!
+999 SP from 788 (Anger).
Kent smirked, glancing over his shoulder. 788’s hooded figure moved silently, but the spiritual energy radiating from him was no longer calm. It flared with hostility.
"Alright, alright," Kent said, waving his hand dismissively. "I get it. You’re mad because I let you fight alone. But look at the bright side—you’ve got front-row seats to my cheering."
Ding!
+1,200 SP from 788 (Frustration).
Suddenly, 788 stopped walking. His spiritual energy surged, the ground beneath his feet cracking.
"You think this is funny?" 788 hissed, his voice cold and venomous. I caught your lie. You are not a Dark Alliance member.
Kent blinked, pretending to be surprised. "What? Did I say something wrong? Come on, buddy, we’re a team!"
"You ruined my mission," 788 growled, stepping closer. His hand reached into his cloak, pulling out a jagged black blade that radiated dark energy. "And now, you’re acting like a Dark Alliance member."
You talk too much. That is what gave you away. You said only one Level-B cultivator is present inside the ruins. If you are a dark alliance member, you should know that our group leader is also inside.
As soon as the ruin opened, He contacted everyone who was inside the ruins. Show me our dark alliance communications stone. Otherwise, I will kill you right now.
Kent panicked for a second. Then he said, Ohh! I lost my stone when I entered the ruins. That’s why I don’t know. It’s not a big deal.
788 Says. Ha Ha! Got you now. There is no communication stone. We contract each other with this. "788 pointed to his arm. A black bracelet was on his hands."
I don’t know how you managed to get my information. I will give you a chance to tell me how you find out about me. Do we have a mole? Answer my question! I will provide you with a quick death. You won’t feel a thing. This will be your one and only option. Otherwise, I will torture you until you spill out the truth.
The cheerful grin vanished from Kent’s face, replaced by a sly smirk. "Oh, so you wanna fight? Finally, something fun!" come on then.
WHOOSH!
788 lunged forward with incredible speed, his blade aimed straight for Kent’s chest.
"Oh crap!" Kent yelped, activating Flashing Step just in time. He dashed to the side, leaving a fiery trail behind him.
CLANG!
The dark blade struck the ground, sending a shockwave that cracked the earth.
"Whoa, easy there!" Kent said, brushing off his sleeve. "You could’ve ruined my jacket." It cost a lot. This is the first jacket I bought, which is over 500 dollars.
Ding!
+1,500 SP from 788 (Rage).
788 snarled, his spiritual energy spiking even higher. "You’re not walking out of here alive!"
He charged again, his blade coated in spiritual energy this time.
Kent ducked under the swing, rolling backwards. "Okay, okay, I get it—you’re really mad. But do we have to do this here? My SP meter is gonna explode!"

What the Fuck you are talking about? 788 asked. What is SP? Did you lose your mind? I feel that from the start, you have some problems. You must be a crackhead!!
Kent knew he couldn’t keep dodging forever. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned his Soul Slasher Dagger and Hellfire at the same time. The blade shimmered with a dark purple hue, its surface glowing faintly with hellfire as he infused it with his energy.
"Let’s see how you like this!" Kent said, spinning the dagger in his hand.
WHOOSH!
He lunged at 788, slashing upward.
CLANG!
The two blades collided, sparks flying as their spiritual energies clashed.
788 pushed forward, his strength overwhelming. "You’re nothing but a cocky and a clown kid!"
Kent grinned, his feet sliding back from the force. "And you’re just another bad guy in a hoodie. Let’s see who’s better!"
788 swung his blade in a wide arc, releasing a wave of dark energy.
"Hellfire Barrier!" Kent shouted, summoning a wall of black flames to block the attack.
BOOM!
The two energies collided, creating an explosion that shook the ground. Dust and debris filled the air.
"You’re stronger than you look," Kent admitted, coughing as the dust settled.
788 smirked. "And you’re weaker than you act."

"Oh, really?" Kent said, his eyes narrowing. He activated Flashing Step, dashing behind 788 in an instant.
WHOOSH!
His dagger slashed toward 788’s back, but the dark operative spun around, blocking it with his blade.
CLANG!
Their weapons locked again, the air crackling with tension.
"I have to admit," Kent said, grinning. "You’re the first guy to keep up with me in a fight this long. Too bad you won’t last much longer."
788 growled, his spiritual energy surging. He slammed his palm into the ground, creating a shockwave that forced Kent to leap back.
"You’re all talk," 788 spat, raising his blade. "Let’s see if your skills match your mouth!"
Kent chuckled, twirling his dagger. "Oh, you’ll see. But don’t blame me if it hurts!"
He coated the dagger with more Hellfire, the black flames licking the blade hungrily. The temperature around him rose, the air shimmering with heat.
"Ready or not, here I come!" Kent shouted, dashing forward with Flashing Step.
WHOOSH!
He appeared right in front of 788; AMBER SLASH Kent yelled, slashing downward.
SLASH!
The blade sliced through 788’s cloak, leaving a charred line across his chest.
"ARRGH!" 788 staggered back, clutching his wound.

788’s breathing grew ragged, but his eyes burned with fury. "You… you’ll regret that."
He raised his blade, channelling all his remaining spiritual energy into a single attack.
Kent sighed, shaking his head. "Bad guys always say that. Don’t you ever come up with new lines?"
As 788 charged, Kent stood his ground, his dagger glowing brighter with hellfire.
WHOOSH!
The two clashed one final time.
BOOM!
The explosion of energy sent shockwaves through the ruins, scattering debris everywhere.
When the dust settled, Kent stood over 788, his dagger pressed against the man’s throat.
"Any last words?" Kent asked, smirking.
788 glared at him, his voice a low growl. "You… won’t… win…"
Kent shrugged. "Wrong answer."
SLASH!
The dagger glowed brightly as it cut through 788, disintegrating his body into ashes.
Ding!
+2,000 SP from defeating 788.
Kent sheathed his dagger, letting out a long sigh. "Man, what a drama queen. At least he was good SP farming material."
He stretched his arms, looking around. "Now, where was I? Oh, right—treasures!" let’s see what things you got 788.
"Kent picks up a tree branch and pokes through 788 ashes. Nothing, only this black bracelet left. DAMN 788, you are poor or maybe my hellfire burned all the treasures."
If my hellfire was able to burn the treasure, then those might be at a very low level. This bracelet is something powerful. It is still the same. Let’s keep it for now.
Later, I will give it to Nexus Jade Monroe. That way, he would be grateful to me. I will ask him to give Nima a scholarship. I am such a genius. Let’s look for treasures now.
With a cheerful whistle, Kent walked deeper into the ruins, leaving behind the ashes of his defeated foe.
