My SSS-Rank Skill and System is too OP in Modern Cultivation world-Chapter 113: The Great Food Battle & The Offer
—
He was a towering six feet tall, but his sheer size stood out most—he had to weigh at least 150 kilos. His broad frame and round belly made it look like he had eaten an entire elephant. Despite his size, his presence was oddly cheerful, his face beaming with satisfaction as he tore into a giant drumstick.
Kent, Ethan, and Mia grabbed their plates and joined the table while Harper eagerly followed them. The other young masters, rather than serving themselves, simply ordered their servants to bring them food.
As Kent sat down, he couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Nima and Auri. The little bird fiercely protected a plate of grilled fish while Nima was halfway through a mountain of food, her cheeks puffing out like a squirrel's.
"Enjoying yourselves?" Kent asked with a smirk.
Nima swallowed her food and grinned. "Big brother, this food is amazing! You should've come sooner!"
Kent shook his head, watching as Harper reached for another plate of dumplings. Something told him that the real entertainment for the day was just getting started.
The buffet table stood like a battlefield, steaming dishes lined up in neat rows, waiting for their ultimate fate—being devoured by hungry warriors. The air was thick with the rich aroma of grilled meats, steaming dumplings, and sizzling stir-fries. An unspoken tension was in the air. In this warzone, three challengers stood ready: Harper Li, Nima, and Auri. Without saying a word to each other, they were competing over who could eat more.
Harper, a six-foot-tall, 150-kilo giant, cracked his knuckles and grinned. His belly jiggled slightly as he rubbed it. "You think you two have what it takes to out-eat me?"
Nima scoffed, rolling up her sleeves. "I once ate a whole roasted chicken by myself. I was still hungry after that. But my big brother didn't let me eat more. You Harper or whatever… you probably cry after finishing a single bowl of rice."
Auri, a tiny and fat Emberling sparrow, fluttered her wings and landed on the table. "Chirp! You fools! You're underestimating a foodie bird like me! This is not just a battle of stomachs—it's a battle of wills!"
The three-way challenge was set.
The First Course: Plates piled with crispy duck, honey-glazed pork, and steaming dumplings.
Harper grabbed a whole duck with his bare hands, biting into it like a savage beast. Grease dripped down his chin, but he didn't care. "Mmmm! Juicy!"
Nima, refusing to lose, stuffed five dumplings into her mouth at once. Her cheeks puffed like a chipmunk's, and she mumbled, "Thish isth nothingf! I canth do thish all dayf!"
Auri, despite his small size, went for the most high-calorie option: vegetable soup and some fruit salad. The little bird tore through the food at an alarming speed, gulping it down like a vacuum cleaner.
The Second Course: Bowls of noodles and rice, topped with thick, flavorful broth.
Harper grabbed two massive bowls and poured them straight into his mouth like a waterfall. The broth splattered over his clothes, but he was too focused on victory to care.
Nima, eyes burning with determination, dual-wielded chopsticks, shovelling rice into her mouth at the speed of light.
Auri? he dove into a noodle bowl headfirst, swimming in the broth like it was a hot spring, slurping as she waded through it.
The onlookers had gathered around, whispering amongst themselves.
"Is that girl really human?"
"Who's that giant guy? He's eating like a starving beast!"
"Why is there a live crow in the soup? Is it some kind of new dish?"
The competition continued, but Kent had his own problems across the table.
While Kent and Ethan were getting their food, Ryan asked all the young masters to mock Kent. He told them Kent was a poor egg seller. He thinks, "Last time you mocked me in school. I felt so embarrassed. Now, I will give you the embarrassment of your life."

Ryan, the ever-arrogant young master, smirked as he leaned back in his chair. "Look at this, everyone. Even a peasant can sneak into our ranks if he licks the right boots."
The other young masters chuckled. One of them sneered, "Kent, do you even know which fork to use? Wait—you probably eat with your hands like a poor peasant."
Another added, "I heard he doesn't belong to any big family. How did he even get in here?"
Ryan leaned forward, his voice dripping with condescension. "You see, Kent, this table is for people with power, influence, and wealth. You? You're just nobody trying to play in the big leagues."
Kent, unfazed, calmly chewed his food. His lack of reaction only made Ryan angrier.
"Look at him! Acting like he belongs here!" Ryan scoffed. "Let me guess—did you borrow your clothes? Otherwise, how can you wear new clothes? Or maybe you begged someone… for entry?"
The insults continued, but Harper Li slammed his massive fist onto the table before Kent could respond.
Harper wiped his greasy hands on a napkin, his eyes narrowing at Ryan. "You have a lot to say for someone hiding behind their family name. What's wrong? Scared to talk big without your daddy's protection?"
Ryan's face turned red. "Watch your mouth, you fat—"
Harper grabbed Ryan's plate and ate the rest of his food in front of him. "Mmm. Tastes like privilege and insecurity."
The other young masters gasped. Ryan stood up, furious. "You dare—"
Still chewing a mouthful of dumplings, Nima pointed at Ryan and mumbled through her food, "Shhho shhuh uphh, yhou shoociallyh maladjusthedh phedasant!"
Ryan blinked. "What, I can't understand anything? Hey, poor egg seller, what is your little sister saying? Did you forget to teach her how to talk?"
Nima swallowed, took a deep breath, and let loose. "You absolute donkey! You have the personality of a soggy cabbage. Your fashion sense? Tragic. Your breath? Smells like expired goat cheese. And let's not even talk about your intelligence level—it's so low, even an amoeba would look at you and say, 'Damn, that guy's dumb.'"
Ryan clenched his fists. "You little—"
Auri, still soaked in noodle broth, flapped his wings and chirped, "SILENCE, FOOL! Do you dare challenge MY master? If you had half a brain cell, you'd realize that picking a fight with Kent is like challenging your dad—YOU LOSE EVERY TIME!"
The table fell silent. Ryan gritted his teeth. He wanted to say more but had already lost too much face. Harper, Nima, and even a crow had roasted him into oblivion. He wanted to embarrass Kent but all his dreams shattered. His plan Uno reversed. He got embarrassed again!
Watching all this, Mia sighed and whispered to Ethan, "I swear, wherever Kent goes, chaos follows. But I didn't imagine his little sister would be like him."
Ethan chuckled. "That's what makes him interesting. Both the siblings have a unique personality. You will never get bored with Kent around."
After thoroughly humiliating Ryan and his cronies, Kent, Ethan, Mia, Nima, Harper, and Auri moved to a quieter table.
Harper, still chewing, nudged Kent. "Hey, I like you. You got guts. Most people wouldn't stand there all calm while a bunch of spoiled brats ran their mouths."
Kent smirked. "It's not worth my energy."
Nima, still fuming, crossed her arms. "Kent, you should've let me punch that guy. My hands were itching. That guy is so weak. I think even Auri can make him shit in his pants."
Ethan shook his head and laughed. " Ha Ha Ha! Shit on his pants! Ha Ha Ha! That will cause a scene… Thank god you didn't send your pet bird to attack. You already destroyed his ego. That's enough."
Kent glanced at Ethan. There was something serious in Ethan's eyes. It looked like Ethan wanted to say something. As the others went to grab more food, Ethan and Kent sat quietly at a different table.
Ethan's voice lowered. "Kent, you know why they mock you, right?"
Kent nodded. "Because I don't belong to a big family, and I am not a rich kid like them."
Ethan leaned forward. "Exactly. Power, wealth and status matters here. Connections matter. Without them, people like Ryan will always look down on you."
Kent sighed. "I don't care what they think. They are a bunch of spoiled kids who don't know the reality of common people."
Ethan studied him carefully before speaking again. "Kent… why don't you join my family?"
Kent raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
Ethan's voice was serious. "I can guarantee you a high position. If you join us, I can make you a captain now. No one will ever look down on you again. Later, when I take over my family, I will find the best position for you."
The air between them grew heavy. Kent stared at Ethan, considering his words. Then he says, "I am happy to receive your invitation, but I have to decline. I have my own plans. Don't misunderstand me; I want to be rich, not work under someone."
Ethan replied, "What will you do once you get rich? You have to join the government if you don't join any family, clan or organisation."
