My SSS-Rank Clone Talent: I Level Up Endlessly!-Chapter 229: Fox Grimoire!?
Chapter 229: Fox Grimoire!?
"You want Grimoires?" the king rubbed his beard with gleaming pupils.
"Yes," Grey spoke without a shred of fear.
"Then you will have to earn it yourself."
"What do I have to do?" Grey asked.
"I will allow you to enter the Mountain of Hell, where countless Grimoires lie. However, any one of these Grimoires is very hard to obtain. Even the bronze-rank Grimoires cannot be tamed so easily," the king spoke again with an even more serious tone.
"Oh," Grey was more amused when he heard this. "Very well."
"Are you sure?" the king asked again, raising his brows.
Grey silently nodded his head in agreement.
"Good, good. Someone will show you the way," the king spoke again with a pleasant smile on his face.
Grey nodded his head in silence.
"If you can come back in one piece, then you will have my respect, brat," the king spoke with a smirk.
Then Grey was swiftly guided by the soldiers.
There was no point in playing with words here, nor did he care to play with words. He had been in this world for so long, of course he knew what the Mountain of Hell was.
It was a dystopian mountain where the fiercest of the fierce Grimoires are thrown, those that refuse to yield.
Even the bronze Grimoire couldn’t be tamed by a Disciple-level Book Tamer, simply because they would rather self-destruct than be tamed.
Even if a Master-level Book Tamer were to forcefully tame a bronze-level Grimoire, it would still refuse to open its pages for the Book Tamer.
This was how unyielding they were, refusing to be tamed!
Grey, knowing all of this, still followed the soldier.
They returned to where they came from and exited the palace.
There, a group of soldiers was already waiting for Grey.
The leading soldier had a peculiar moustache. As he saw Grey, he immediately saluted and shouted loudly:
"Lord Grey, we are prepared to set out to the Mountain of Hell!"
"Hmm, very well." Grey nodded his head with a hint of nonchalant demeanour. His pupils sized up the man with the moustache for a second. Then, they boarded the carriage and set off.
The sound of horses trudging through the paved road soon echoed.
"Mountain of Hell, huh?" His eyes narrowed, and for a moment, he was extremely thoughtful.
"I have some confidence in my charm skill. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll have to rely on you, Lilith."
A bright red light flashed, and a giant Grimoire floated in front of him, hovering while bouncing.
"Are you even worthy to use me?"
"Yes, I am worthy to use you. I only need your ability to help me with Soul Link and Soul Severe." Grey chuckled with an amused smile.
"...Okay," Lilith directly agreed. "Are you going to use Soul Severe to attack the opponent? I’ll tell you in advance, that wouldn’t work against Grimoires."
"We’ll see about that."
After saying this, Grey became completely silent. His eyes wandered through the window, watching as the city gradually disappeared from view.
Of course, the Mountain of Hell was outside the capital. However, it wasn’t actually that far away, and people were strictly forbidden to enter. Thousands of guards protected it under vigorous supervision.
Soon, they arrived at the foothill of the Mountain of Hell.
Grey stepped out of the carriage, greeted by countless soldiers saluting him with military precision.
Standing before them was a man clad in a black and green uniform, a long coat fluttering behind him in the mountain wind.
"I’m the one in charge here," the man said with a welcoming smile. "It’s an honor to meet the genius who’s shaken our entire kingdom."
He extended a hand.
Grey glanced at the badge on his chest before shaking it firmly. "A pleasure to meet you, General Glen."
"The pleasure is all mine. Do you want to rest and prepare," Glen asked, "or head in immediately?"
"Straight away," Grey replied, then turned slightly toward his side, eyes flicking to the grimoire floating beside him. "Isn’t that right, Lilith?" freēnovelkiss.com
"Of course," Lilith replied, her voice filled with dignity. "Who dares oppose the Soul Goddess? In my presence, all shall bow."
"Haha, good, good." Glen chuckled. "Do you want a group of soldiers to accompany you?"
"No."
"You sure?" Glen raised a brow, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Yeah."
"Very well," Glen said with a shrug, then turned sharply toward the troops. "Open the gates!"
Swish—!
The massive iron gates that enclosed the mountain range groaned as they parted, revealing the path into the Mountain of Hell.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Grey stepped forward, Lilith hovering beside him silently. Together, they disappeared into the mist beyond the gate.
As the last sliver of Grey’s silhouette vanished from view, Glen let out a small sigh, his expression tinged with disappointment.
A soldier beside him chuckled under his breath. "Does he really think taming the Grimoires in there will be as easy as that Diamond one?"
"He’s too confident. Let the mountain shatter that arrogance." another soldier sneered, unable to hide his amusement.
"Yeah, he’ll learn the hard way."
A chorus of laughter echoed through the air as the soldiers chuckled amongst themselves.
Only General Glen remained silent, his expression unreadable, standing still like an unmoved mountain. His sharp eyes continued to gaze at the closed gates, calm and steady.

The moment Grey entered the mountains, his eyes were filled with withered black trees.
Although it was a mountain, it didn’t have snow; instead, it had creepy haunted trees that seemed to be straight out of a nightmare.
"What a nice place to spend camping." With a joking look, Grey stretched his body.
Just then, a Grimoire suddenly leaped and appeared in front of him. It had a dimming light and its size was pocket-sized, very small!
"Oh?" Grey’s pupils flashed as he stared upon the Grimoire for a moment.
A blue panel appeared in front of him.
[Do you wish to tame the Bronze Fox Grimoire?]
[Accept / Decline]
"Accept." Grey immediately accepted. A brown light shot from the Fox Grimoire, and he closed his eyes for a moment as his vision shifted.
He was in a room surrounded by haze, and in the middle of it was a small fox:
"Bow in... front... me... Human," the fox uttered out cutely. "And you shall be my... master."
