My Skill Bar is Full of Monster Skills-Chapter 94 - 90: Mutated Ice Spirit
Raine and the other two exchanged glances, their expressions immediately turning serious.
In the next second, the three of them leapt onto the boulder and looked in the direction of the sound.
The scene that met their eyes instantly put them on high alert—an intense and chaotic pursuit.
Yes, a chase!
A translucent humanoid shadow hovered about a meter above the ground, surrounded by a faint white glow, and was rapidly pursuing an Adventurer with a bow.
Trailing behind the humanoid shadow were three Adventurers struggling to catch up, yet falling further behind.
A man wielding a Great Sword, if Raine remembered correctly, was Schneider, someone he had met once at the Mill Town Adventurer’s Association hall, who had invited Elise at the time.
He didn’t recognize the other two: one was tall, holding a Tower Shield and wearing Heavy Armor; the other wielded a Two-Handed Heavy Hammer, clad in Bright Silver Armor, emitting a faint white glow.
Though their weapons differed, all three were enveloped in a large amount of white Frost Breath, moving as if in slow motion, chasing the humanoid shadow.
This speed naturally couldn’t catch up.
The Ranger being pursued by the Ice Spirit ahead also realized this and was trying to circle around to lure the Ice Spirit to his three teammates.
But the floating Ice Spirit was extremely fast, almost equal in speed to the Ranger, who was attempting to circle, causing the distance between him and the Ice Spirit to close even more.
Just as Raine was about to say something, suddenly, a red light caught his attention.
In the snowy field to the north of the Ice Spirit, a female Mage in a light red Mage Robe was chanting a Spell, flames dancing at her fingertips, quickly forming into a flaming arrow shape.
"Flaming Arrow?"
"Mage?"
This puzzled Raine; with a Mage present, why was the squad in such disarray?
After all, Fire Spells typically have an additional vulnerability effect on frost-type Demons.
But in the next instant, Raine’s eyes widened, and Elise and Laisa’s beautiful eyes were also wide open.
Because just as the Ice Spirit was about to be hit by the Flaming Arrow, a smooth, oval mirror surface of condensed frost suddenly appeared on its body, and the arrow was reflected back.
At this moment, the Flaming Arrow was heading straight back at the female Mage.
"Oh no!"
"What kind of magic is this?" Laisa couldn’t help but curse.
Raine, Elise, and Laisa looked at each other bewilderedly.
During his time in Dorne City, Raine had specifically memorized the common names of Spells below Fifth Level in the Spell List, but he was certain this wasn’t one of them.
Laisa, with her rich experience and unique position as an Assassin, was also familiar with many Mage Spells, and she could also affirm she had never seen such a spell.
In fact, it wasn’t just Raine and his group who were shocked by this spell.
The same held true for the Giant Blade Squad.
A few minutes earlier, when Captain Schneider led his squad to attack the Ice Spirit and discovered it had this unknown spell, they were shocked enough to fit an apple in their mouths.
Because, whether it was Captain Schneider or the other members of the Giant Blade Squad, they all assumed the main firepower for this mission would come from their own Flame Mastery Mage, Hayley.
In most cases, this is undoubtedly the correct tactic.
Generally speaking, when facing the monsters of Lankote Snowfield, the main firepower comes from the Adventurer Squads’ ranged Classes and Casters, especially Mages specialized in Fire Spells.
Nonetheless, the Giant Blade Squad also considered the effective use of close combat Classes’ attacks and therefore recruited a Paladin capable of raising Elemental Resistance.
Schneider’s previous invitation to Elise was also based on this consideration.
But today, they encountered a particularly unique Ice Spirit that had mastered an extremely rare spell that none of the present had even heard of.
Raine also didn’t know how to refer to this spell.
Mirror Spell?
"Damn! It can actually cast this spell!" the Shield Armor Warrior cursed with irritation, frustration, and helplessness.
"How are we supposed to fight this?"
From this, Raine inferred that the Giant Blade Squad assumed that even if this special Ice Spirit could use the ’Mirror’ spell, it should consume a lot of energy and could only be used a few times. But surprisingly, it was unexpectedly sustainable.
This put the Giant Blade Squad in a completely passive situation.
Suddenly, the floating Ice Spirit stopped, and in its phantom hands, a highly concentrated orb of Frost Energy began to gather.
"Damn it! Dodge, Zane!"
"It’s a Snow Rainstorm, move quickly!" Schneider shouted urgently, his pupils contracting.
Almost as soon as they uttered these words,
the glaring blue-white ball of Frost Energy shot through the air, leaving a long white frosty tail flame, rapidly ascending twenty meters above the Ranger named Zane’s head.
"Snow Rainstorm?"
"Isn’t that a Third Level Spell?"
Raine and his companions glanced at each other, momentarily at a loss for words.
This indicated that the Ice Spirit before them was not an ordinary Ice Spirit with a Challenge Level of three but at least a special Ice Spirit with a Challenge Level above Level 5.
This also explained why a seasoned Black Iron Squad like the Giant Blade Squad was so disheveled.
