My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 68: Polished School’s Rivals ? Cat Fight ?
After school, Gary and Olivia invited Dennis, Daisy, Jason, and Kimberly to grab a bite at a fast-food joint not far from school while they waited for Gary’s ride. After ordering and sitting down, Gary opened the folder containing the copies of the files Blake had provided. He began reviewing the documents in detail, since he had only managed a quick glance during break.
"Hmm... BW Construction, huh? I know this company. They aren’t as big as my dad’s, but they’ve got quite a name in the city," Gary muttered, eyeing the company name.
"You hear a lot of shady stuff about them?" Dennis asked, working on his burger.
"I don’t really know much. I’m not interested in my old man’s business; my dream is to be a hunter," Gary answered.
"Honestly, I can afford to pay for my bike repairs myself, but it just feels like something is missing if those guys get away scot-free without any punishment," Jason grumbled.
"Exactly. They need to be punished, especially that gang leader, that bastard Sean," Kimberly added, looking clearly annoyed.
"Relax, just leave it to Blake and Naomi. They handle this kind of stuff all the time, and their families are on good terms with my dad’s law firm," Olivia said, taking a sip of her drink.
"But Daisy, how did you even get all this data? Don’t tell me it’s from those two twin sisters of yours who work as a PI and a hacker?" Kimberly whispered.
"Shh... keep it down. I’ve been asking them for help since last night," Daisy replied, glancing at Dennis with a look that said, "keep quiet, okay."
Of course, Dennis understood exactly what Daisy meant. To everyone else, Daisy’s various personalities were just her "twin sisters"—they just didn’t realize the actual total number of Daisy’s "twins." Gary then handed the folder back to Jason, and they settled into a relaxed meal.
"Ding."
A notification hit everyone’s smartphones. It was a message from Ivan in the joint senior-junior core team group chat. He explained that the friendly sparring match with Red Wind was canceled because Steve had seen the footage of Sean and his crew destroying Jason’s bike on school grounds.
The principal had decided the school would no longer accept challenges from them unless their core team was replaced. Sasha also clarified that Sean’s group was a new core team, not the seniors they had faced before. She urged Gary, Olivia, Dennis, Daisy, Jason, and Kimberly to stay sharp; it was clear Sean was targeting them after seeing the footage of the six of them fighting crawlers on the southern train tracks. The six of them quickly replied to acknowledge the warning.
Once they finished chatting with the seniors, the group went back to their food in quiet contemplation. Gary eventually broke the silence.
"Do you guys think this is over?" Gary asked after swallowing a bite of his burger.
"Not a chance. Like Blake said, guys like that don’t just stay quiet, especially if they end up being banned by our school," Dennis replied, washing his burger down with soda.
"Yep. That’s why we’re letting the experts, Blake and Naomi, handle it," Daisy said before taking a bite of her burger.
"Exactly. I know the type. My dad’s clients are the same—people who feel entitled because they think they’re above everyone else. They don’t take losing well," Olivia added.
"Chime."
The bell above the door rang, and the group turned to look. Six girls in all-white school uniforms, carrying a variety of weapons ranging from swords to machine guns, walked in. They headed straight to the counter to order food. The group could see that these schoolgirls weren’t ordinary; they looked clean and polished, their style was elegant, and they seemed highly educated in the ways of etiquette.
Their hair was all long and straight, though the colors varied from black and blonde to silver. Naturally, Dennis, Daisy, and the others continued eating casually without paying the girls much mind, but then the six girls brought their food over and sat down directly across from them. Dennis caught the school emblem on one of the girls’ uniforms: Willow Private Military Institute.
"Hmm... so they’re students from that all-girls school, but why are they here?" Dennis wondered to himself while unwrapping his second burger.
"Ding."
"Ding," another notification hit the smartphones of Gary, Olivia, Dennis, Daisy, Jason, and Kimberly. It was another message from Ivan, stating that instead of Red Wind, they would be doing a sparring match with the girls’ school next to Red Wind—Willow—and their core team had just left the campus.
Immediately, the six of them stole a glance at the six girls sitting at the table across from them; it was obvious these were the representatives from the all-girls school called Willow who would be sparring with Ivan’s team and the others.
Feeling the eyes on them, one of the Willow girls turned to look their way. Gary, Dennis, and the guys instantly snapped their attention back to their burgers as if the food was the most fascinating thing in the world, desperate to avoid eye contact. Dennis stole another peek and was shocked to see all six girls were now staring at their table. He quickly looked away again. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Uh oh... why are they all turning to look over here," Dennis muttered in his heart.
This time, Dennis, Gary, and Jason felt a heavy, sharp gaze from the next table because the six girls were staring at the three of them openly and shamelessly; they were clearly ignoring Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly. Then one of them—a beautiful girl with straight, golden-blonde hair, pale skin, and green eyes, carrying a rapier at her hip—stood up and approached their table.
"Are you the core team that’s replacing the old one after they graduate?" the girl asked.
"Yeah... that’s right," Gary stammered, avoiding her eyes.
"Hi, my name is Brigitte. My friend with the black hair is Harumi, the silver-haired one is Natasha, the redhead is Margaret, the red-eyed blonde... because she’s a dhampir, is Rachel, and the last one, also black-haired and wearing a headband, is Sofia. Nice to meet you," Brigitte said cheerfully, reaching out her hand to Gary while introducing her friends, who were now all standing beside her.
"Hi... I’m Gary, and this is my wife, Olivia," Gary said, introducing himself.
"I’m Dennis, and this is my wife, Daisy," Dennis added.
"Jason, and this is my wife, Kimberly," Jason tacked on.
They all shook hands and officially introduced themselves, but then, "screeech," the six girls suddenly pulled their tables together and joined them with the table where Dennis and the others were sitting without permission, leaving the six of them stunned.
"So, we’re in the same year as you guys. We already replaced our seniors because we beat them, so now we’re the ones representing our school to spar with yours," Brigitte said, sliding in close to Gary. He looked incredibly uncomfortable.
"Ugh... yeah," Gary replied, shifting away.
"I actually wanted to try fighting you guys, but they said you aren’t allowed yet, even though we were so impressed when we saw the footage of you on the train tracks," said the girl named Natasha, who was now pressing against Dennis, making him feel beyond awkward.
"Oh... I see," Dennis muttered, leaning closer to Daisy.
"That’s right, I was impressed seeing your moves. Maybe next year we can have our sparring match," the black-haired girl named Harumi replied, waving at Jason with a seductive smile.
Naturally, Jason immediately looked away and tried to ignore Harumi’s wave. Suddenly, "BAM!" Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly stood up. They glared at the six girls, who were now looking back at them with confused expressions.
"What exactly do you six want? Don’t get close to my husband," Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly shouted in unison, their faces flushed with rage.
Dennis, Gary, and Jason were floored to see their wives standing up, now locking eyes with the six girls who stared back, clearly challenging them openly with faces that seemed to say, "we like your husbands, so what are you going to do about it."
The atmosphere became tense and suffocating because Daisy, Olivia, and Kimberly were clearly releasing their killing intent, met by the six girls who finally stood up, leaving their food behind to radiate their own pressure against the three girls who were obviously opposing them.
"Oh boy... here we go again, more drama. This is seriously crazy," Dennis, Gary, and Jason all muttered in their hearts, perfectly in sync.
Finally, the three of them managed to calm their wives down and said their goodbyes to the Willow girls, dragging their wives out while carrying whatever food they could take with them. After Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly left the restaurant, the six girls inside watched them cross the street through the window.
"Hmm... Gary, huh? Interesting," Brigitte muttered, her eyes fixed on Gary’s back.
"Yep... Dennis... I think I’m in love; just look at that long hair of his," said Natasha, watching Dennis’s retreating figure.
"Jason... I didn’t even get a chance to trade numbers with him," Harumi said, staring at Jason while resting her chin on the table.
"Hey, they already have wives, don’t they?" asked Sofia, the black-haired girl wearing the white headband.
"Yeah, don’t just do whatever you want," Margaret added, sitting back down and returning to her burger casually.
"Huh... Sofia and Margaret have it easy since they’re already married, but we aren’t. Right, Brigitte? Harumi?" Natasha said.
"Right. It’s time to find a husband, isn’t it? None of those Red Wind kids are any good," Brigitte replied, shaking her head.
"It doesn’t matter if he has a wife; we’re allowed to marry whoever we want. I wouldn’t even mind being a second wife if it was with that Jason guy," Harumi said, blushing.
"Good grief, you guys are always so reckless. Just eat. I want to go home. Don’t let this mess up our sparring match like those idiots from Red Wind did yesterday," Rachel said angrily, appearing to be their leader.
"Fine," Brigitte, Natasha, Margaret, Sofia, and Harumi replied in unison.
Then, the six of them went back to eating casually, with their tables still pushed against the one where Dennis and the others had been sitting.
