Chapter 47: Not Our Problem

Akira and Rika let out a sigh, finally coming out with what they wanted to say to Dennis. According to Rika, Bella hadn’t been attending her online classes, and she hadn’t been at home during that time either. The night before, she’d had a massive blowout with Brad because of his angry outbursts over the mall incident, where he kept telling Bella he wouldn’t lose to Dennis.

But Bella’s response had been half-hearted; she’d already watched Brad lose twice to Dennis—someone who was supposed to be far beneath him—and of course, that was humiliating for her. After that, nobody knows how it happened, but Bella vanished from her house. All her belongings were still there, including her laptop.

Hearing this, Dennis believed what Rika was saying because Bella really hadn’t been seen in the online classes—and even when she did log in, it was only for a moment with a dark screen. Dennis already understood what was going on; he just wondered what he and Daisy had to do with Bella’s problems.

"Okay, I get it. Their marriage is a mess... but what does that have to do with me and my wife?" Dennis asked, confused.

"When Bella left, she left a note on her dining table. She said she was going on a trip with Dennis. You went north yesterday with your team, didn’t you?" Akira asked.

"How do you know that?" Dennis asked sharply.

"Sorry, I heard Jason and Kimberly talking during the online class because they happened to be in the library at the time, and I was there too," Rika answered.

"And Bella knew about it too?" Dennis asked, annoyed.

"I was in the library with Bella. She was frustrated at home because she’d just fought with her husband the night before, but she didn’t join the class and just watched me. After we finished at the library... I have no idea where Bella went, even though she said she was going home," Rika answered.

"She went home, left a note, and left again... I know because Brad called me panicking," Akira said.

"So once again, what does that have to do with me and my wife? If she says she went on a trip with me and my wife, she’s clearly lying because she wasn’t with us, understand?" Dennis said firmly.

"Okay, I get it. Sorry if I’m bothering you, and sorry that our relationship has gone sour because of Brad, but I’m asking for a favor—if Bella shows up here, please tell her that her husband is looking for her," Akira said.

"I’m not making any promises, and since this isn’t my business, I’m not getting involved unless those two go looking for trouble with me. Got it? Your five minutes are up. I’m going back inside; you two should leave," Dennis said firmly while gripping the doorknob.

Without waiting for a response from Akira and Rika, Dennis opened the door and went inside, leaving Akira and Rika frozen in front of his apartment door as they let out a sigh. Shortly after, the sound of footsteps could be heard walking down the hallway, moving further away from the door. Dennis remained standing, leaning against the back of the door and letting out a sigh.

After that, Dennis looked straight ahead and saw that the person sitting on the sofa was Daisy number two. He immediately glanced at the wall clock, which already showed seven in the evening; they had already swapped places. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Dennis walked over to his wife and sat down beside her, and then "chomp," Daisy number two immediately took Dennis’s arm and sucked his blood. Her eyes stared at Dennis as if asking, "who came by?"

"Just now, Akira from the senior core team we’re playing against and his wife, Rika, came by. They’re looking for Brad," Dennis said casually.

Daisy number two’s eyes widened. Dennis could feel a sharp pain in his arm as she sucked harder. "Plop," she finally released her grip and wiped her mouth. Dennis took a handkerchief and helped clean Daisy number two’s lips while explaining what Rika and Akira had told him out front.

"Oh... so that’s how it is," Daisy number two murmured.

"Yep. On the first day of online classes, Jason and Kimberly were in the library. I noticed their background at the time definitely wasn’t their house, and as it turns out, Bella and Rika were there. They overheard that we were going on a trip with Gary and Olivia," Dennis said.

"Hmm... so my move to find evidence to protect us was the right call, since she’s using our names to disappear. I’ve already gathered the data we need," Daisy number two said.

"True, but only use it if we’re backed into a corner. What kind of data did you get?" Dennis asked.

Daisy number two picked up her smartphone and showed the screen to Dennis. The display showed a profile from a dating app, and it was clearly Bella’s profile. The creation date was exactly one day after the holiday started; the status said married but soon-to-be single, looking for a man who could provide for her both financially and physically.

The profile pictures were unmistakably Bella in various poses, and the age she listed was 18—already a young adult. Besides that, many men had viewed her profile and matched with her, including Silas, who was in the photo and had been seen picking Bella up by them.

Then, Daisy number two swiped her screen, showing the results of her investigation into who Silas really was. It turned out Silas was already married with two young children. His company was an inheritance from his father and grandfather; everything had fallen to him because he was an only child, and now his business was on the brink of collapse.

This was because Silas treated the company like his personal piggy bank, making no effort to grow or advance the business. Instead, he kept embezzling company funds and submitting falsified reports to the management.

But there was something interesting about Silas; his dating profile also looked brand new because he had created it just a day after Bella’s and immediately connected with her. He had actually known Bella before, because Silas was Brad’s older cousin on his mother’s side who rarely attended family events. He had known Bella for three months, and since then they had frequently exchanged messages, mostly with Bella venting to him about Brad.

Their entire chat history from the past three months had already been seized by Daisy number two, with help from Daisy number four. Seeing the evidence on Daisy’s smartphone, Dennis gasped and glanced at his wife,

"Wow... she got this much evidence in such a short time... all of this is more than enough to bury Bella and Silas at the same time if she wanted to," Dennis said to himself.

"Now I’m just waiting for my people, who are still auditing Silas’s company books and cross-checking them with his fictitious expenses. Just wait," Daisy number two said with a smile.

"Well... if they mess with us, then we hit back. It’s that simple," Dennis said.

"Yep. If Bella tries anything with you or me, all of this data goes to certain parties—like Brad, Silas’s wife, Silas’s office, and social media, hehe," Daisy number two said, looking like she was eager to pull the trigger.

"Okay, but keep it tucked away for now. It’s not that I’m defending Bella, I just don’t want us getting involved in drama. As long as they don’t poke us, we shouldn’t start anything," Dennis said.

"Relax, my husband, I know. Why do you think I’d just do something like that?" Daisy number two asked curiously.

"Because I know what happened to you in the past and in the previous dimension, but I can’t exactly say that, can I," Dennis answered in his heart. "I’m just worried about you and that we might get involved in something we don’t want, that’s all," Dennis replied as he put his arm around Daisy number two beside him.

"Trust me, my husband, I won’t do anything reckless behind your back," Daisy number two said.

"I trust you, I’m just reminding you because I only want to live a quiet and happy life with you, my wife," Dennis said, turning on the charm.

Naturally, Daisy number two immediately jumped to kiss Dennis right on his lips. Dennis returned his wife’s kiss and held her waist, then Daisy number two moved to sit on Dennis’s lap while continuing to kiss her husband. Of course, like rabbits, the kissing led to other things after they stripped off their clothes.

While Daisy number two moved on top of him, Dennis kept watching his wife’s seductive face with a smile, and naturally, his thoughts began to fade away, filled only by the intimacy with Daisy in front of him.

"I’m sure nothing is going to happen... but for some reason... my gut still feels like something is off," Dennis said in his heart while holding the second Daisy’s waist as she moved above him.
