Chapter 37: Making Up and Morning Training

Feeling that the coast was clear, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly approached Dennis and Daisy, who were still in the middle of healing. As the four of them drew near, Dennis turned to look at them.

"Sorry, Gary. Your beach got trashed because of me and Daisy. I’ll pay for the damages; just let me know how much," Dennis said.

"Don’t even worry about that, dude. I’m fine with it. I also want to apologize because it was my and Jason’s big mouths that caused you two to end up like this... so, sorry," Gary said, rubbing the back of his head, looking incredibly guilty.

"Yeah, for real, man. We’re sorry. We only meant it as a joke; we didn’t realize Daisy was that sensitive about it. So... seriously, sorry," Jason added.

"I’m sorry for laughing, too. At first, I thought it was just banter. I didn’t know what the situation was like for you and Daisy at home and I just went ahead and laughed. I’m so sorry, I feel terrible about it," Kimberly muttered, hugging Jason’s arm.

Dennis and Daisy looked at each other, then turned back to their four friends, the light still enveloping their bodies.

"It’s okay. I’m the one who should apologize because I misunderstood your intentions. I think I’m just exhausted, so a problem that shouldn’t have existed became one. Please forgive me," Daisy said.

"Take it easy, Daisy. We’re friends. Are you okay?" Olivia asked, stepping closer.

Olivia immediately knelt beside Daisy, who was lying in Dennis’s lap, and examined her body using her analysis magic. A moment later, she turned to Dennis with a look that was both angry and remorseful.

"You did this to your wife? You hit her with everything you had. It’s a miracle she didn’t die; she has internal injuries. Let me help with the healing," Olivia said.

"I... I’m sorry," Dennis stammered.

"He’s not to blame, Olivia. I challenged him... I’m the one at fault," Daisy countered.

"We’re all at fault. Let’s just drop it. The important thing is getting you healed," Olivia replied, placing her palms on Daisy’s stomach as green light began to emanate from her hands.

"Thank you, Oliv," Daisy said.

Thanks to Olivia’s healing magic, Daisy’s body recovered quickly. Within just 15 minutes, Daisy was sitting back up. She turned to Dennis and gave him a faint smile. Dennis could only nod in response. Afterward, they all started chatting again, and Gary invited Dennis and Daisy to finish their dinner. Once dinner was over, Dennis and Daisy returned to their room.

When Dennis closed the door and turned to see Daisy sitting on the bed, he was startled. The Daisy sitting there had green skin, yellow eyes, and a muscular build. But her face looked battered and covered in bruises. Tears were streaming down her face as she looked at Dennis, then she lowered her head in deep regret. Seeing the state of Daisy Number Six, Dennis locked the door and sat down beside her.

"I’m sorry, baby. I... I’m really not good with words... I... I can’t express anything... I..."

Before Daisy Number Six could finish her sentence, Dennis pulled her into an embrace, catching her by surprise. She immediately burst into heavy sobs, burying her face in Dennis’s chest as her hands gripped his back tightly. Once Daisy had calmed down a moment later, she pushed Dennis back slightly to release the hug, though she was still sobbing.

"What happened to you? Are you all beat up because of me?" Dennis asked, confused by his wife’s battered face.

"Um... I was punished by the others. I almost hurt Number One. If she had died... we all would have died with her... but if she hadn’t come out earlier... I might have killed you... I truly regret everything and deserve to be punished," Daisy Number Six answered.

"So how is Number One doing?" Dennis asked.

"She’s conscious and she’s already forgiven me... even though I was willing to be erased by her because of my mistake," Number Six replied.

"Hmm? Erased?" Dennis asked, confused.

"Don’t worry about it, it’s not important... I... I love you, baby. Forgive me," Number Six said.

"I know. Number Seven already told me everything. I’m sorry too for not listening to you and accusing you of all sorts of things because of my own insecurities," Dennis said.

"It’s okay, baby. I understand your situation. All this time, I was wrong about you," Number Six murmured.

"Well, let’s not talk about it anymore. It’s lucky Gary didn’t ask for compensation since we wrecked his beach. Now, you should get some rest," Dennis said, touching Daisy’s head.

But Daisy Number Six lunged forward and grabbed Dennis, hugging him. She immediately kissed him passionately while taking off her clothes. After that,

"Make-up sex?" Daisy Number Six asked.

"Hmm... okay," Dennis replied.

They got right to it, losing themselves in each other for as long as they wanted, finally stopping only when it was nearly dawn.

The next morning, Dennis, Daisy, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly, all dressed in their full school uniforms, sat around the dining table to attend their online classes together. Since Gary and Olivia were in the same class as Daisy, the three of them sat in a row, while Dennis sat with his classmates, Jason and Kimberly. Dennis, who was sitting across from Daisy—who was actually Daisy Number Six—kept a quiet, watchful eye on his wife to make sure she didn’t try anything wild again.

Several servers served breakfast at the table for them, allowing them to attend their classes while eating and sipping coffee. Later, after the first lesson ended and they entered a break period, many students asked Jason and Kimberly why their backgrounds looked the same as Dennis’s. Naturally, Jason and Kimberly confirmed that Dennis was indeed with them, but they didn’t mention that they were up north at Gary’s villa. Meanwhile, Dennis looked at Bella’s screen, which appeared dark; it seemed Bella wasn’t attending class.

"Hmm... she hasn’t been in class since yesterday. It’s not like I care, but it’s just weird. Is she planning something? Don’t get ahead of yourself, Dennis, whatever she’s planning might not have anything to do with you," Dennis muttered in his head.

"What’s up, baby?" Daisy Number Six asked from across the table, reaching out to hold Dennis’s hand.

"Nothing, just spacing out for a second," Dennis answered with a smile, trying his best not to let any strange expressions slip.

"Okay. You gonna eat that?" Daisy Number Six asked, pointing at the plate in front of him.

Dennis immediately noticed that Daisy Number Six’s plate was already empty. There were breadcrumbs and sauce smeared around the corners of her mouth, and she clearly still looked hungry. Dennis smiled; he took one piece of his sandwich and pushed the rest toward Daisy Number Six, who happily welcomed it. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Thanks, baby," Daisy Number Six said, her hunger obvious.

"Go ahead and eat, it’ll keep your energy up," Dennis replied with a smile, standing up and reaching across the table to pat Daisy’s head.

"Yeah, I’m happy. I love you," Daisy whispered before diving right back into her food.

Dennis took his time enjoying his sandwich and sipping his coffee. Once all their classes were over, the group headed back to the beach, but this time they were in full gear, carrying their weapons. When they reached the shore, they immediately formed a circle.

"Okay, let’s start the drills. Dennis and Daisy, you two should probably sit this one out since we already know what you’re capable of. You guys can be the refs," Gary said with a grin.

"Oh... I see... okay then," Dennis replied.

"But... I want to join in," Daisy Number Six replied, looking disappointed.

Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly went dead silent. Dennis placed a hand on Daisy’s shoulder, making her turn to look at his smiling face.

"You’ll just be with me later... so... please behave," Dennis murmured softly so the others couldn’t hear.

Daisy Number Six flinched at the sight of Dennis’s unsettling smile. She started trembling as memories of her "punishment" in the Council of Daisies flashed back to her. Finally, she gave a slow nod of agreement and pressed her lips tight, a sign that she wouldn’t make another sound. Dennis immediately turned to his four friends, who looked confused.

"Ok, we’re good... go ahead and start, we’ll be the refs," Dennis told his friends, giving them a thumbs up while wrapping an arm around Daisy.

Naturally, Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly looked relieved. They immediately dove into their training, with Gary facing off against Jason, who was wielding a sword and a pair of daggers. It turned out that besides being a sniper, Jason was also a knife fighter with fluid movements that held their own against Gary’s swordsmanship.

Every now and then, Dennis glanced at Daisy, who looked grumpy because she wanted to jump in and test the others. She watched Gary and Jason’s fierce clash, then turned to Olivia, who was using a spear to battle Kimberly, who moved with martial arts-like precision while firing two pistols. Dennis could see that Daisy Number Six looked stressed out from holding herself back, her fists clenched tight.

"Hmm... she’s really trying to control herself. I almost feel bad for her, but for the sake of everyone’s safety, I’ll stay quiet and keep close to watch over her," Dennis muttered in his head while continuing to observe his wife and the progress of the sparring match in front of him.
