My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 36: Their True Feelings
"Boom... boom,"
Dennis was being pushed to his limit. He kept backing away while Daisy Number Six continued her savage assault, her tears still streaming. Words could no longer reach her; she looked like someone possessed. Suddenly, Daisy Number Six lunged, swinging a glowing fist toward him. Caught off guard, Dennis crossed his arms in front of his face. "Boom!" When the fist connected with his forearms, a massive roar thundered out, and Dennis was sent flying backward, his mind spinning in total disarray.
Dennis’s back slammed into a coconut tree with enough force to make his spine ache, causing him to cough up a mouthful of saliva. Both of his arms were trembling and throbbing from blocking that last hit. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"She... she’s serious... I could actually die at this rate," Dennis muttered in his head.
He watched as Daisy approached him step by step. She looked completely unhinged—her teeth were gritting and her eyes were fixed on him with a sharp intensity, even as the tears continued to pour down. Dennis realized that Number Six was beyond reasoning, and if this kept up, he was going to lose. Finally, he opened his skill interface.
"There’s no other way,"
"Bloodlust,"
"Swoooosh!" A red aura swirled around Dennis’s feet like smoke, rising up like a tornado. His body expanded, becoming increasingly muscular until his shirt tore. The veins on his powerful arms bulged, his eyes turned blood-red, and his face took on a crazed expression as if he were losing consciousness.
Without waiting for Daisy to reach him, Dennis bolted forward, attacking with a heavy fist. Daisy tried to block, but "Boom!"—this time, it was Daisy who was sent flying back toward the center of the beach, landing hard in the sand. Dennis immediately leaped through the air, landing right on top of her. He rained down blind, frantic punches, but Daisy dodged and parried every strike while pinned to the ground.
Then, Daisy hooked her leg around Dennis’s, pulling him down until he collapsed. She scrambled to lock her arm around his neck to pin him still. Daisy Number Six’s eyes turned a brilliant yellow and her smile widened, looking thrilled to finally have an opponent who was her match. They continued to grapple, locking and breaking free, until both leaped back to reset their distance. Then, they both charged, trading lightning-fast punches and kicks. Every collision created an explosion and a shockwave of wind.
Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly watched from the sidelines, shielding their faces with their arms and clinging to one another, bracing themselves so they wouldn’t be blown away by the force of the impact between Dennis and Daisy.
"Hey... stop them!" Jason shouted.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Kimberly asked, clutching Jason.
"Just leave them be. There’s nothing we can do to stop this. It turns out Dennis and Daisy are incredibly strong," Olivia answered.
"No kidding. They’re unbelievable," Gary added.
They could only watch and hold their ground as the husband and wife clashed before them. Dennis, having lost himself to the Bloodlust skill, was in a full berserker state, attacking with relentless power and excitement. Meanwhile, Daisy, who seemed to have the upper hand, fought back with a wide grin on her face, even as tears continued to fall from her glowing yellow eyes.
But suddenly, "Hug," Daisy Number Six threw her arms around Dennis. She locked her hands behind his waist, holding him tight. "Graah!" Dennis looked like he was in pain; he clenched both fists and raised them high, slamming them down onto Daisy’s back with a heavy blow. "Ahak," Daisy coughed up saliva, but she didn’t let go of her hold.
"I love you, baby... I truly love you. You are strong, you are so important in my life. I don’t want to do this anymore. Snap out of it, baby," Daisy Number Six pleaded.
"Graaaaaah!" Dennis continued to rage, striking Daisy’s back over and over.
Then, without warning, Daisy Number Six swapped with Daisy Number One—the primary Daisy. At that exact moment, Dennis’s fist landed squarely on her back. "Ahaak!" This time, Daisy coughed up fresh blood that soaked Dennis’s chest. She released her grip and fell backward onto the sand. Seeing Daisy collapse and bleeding from her mouth, Dennis was instantly jolted. His eyes went wide and his jaw dropped; the ferocity vanished from his face as his eyes gradually returned to normal.
"Blugh,"
Dennis dropped to his knees beside the fallen Daisy. He realized immediately that the one lying before him was Daisy Number One, and a crushing weight of regret hit his chest. With trembling hands, he lifted her unconscious body and wiped the blood from her lips.
"Da... Daisy... honey... oh god... what have I done... why... why did it turn out like this," Dennis asked himself in his heart.
Suddenly, Daisy opened her eyes. She reached up, undid her hair tie, and shook her head, letting her hair fall to cover half of her face. She placed both palms against her chest, and a bright, holy yellow light emanated from her hands, enveloping her entire body. Now operating as Daisy Number Seven, she looked at Dennis—who was confused, shocked, terrified, and paralyzed with regret.
"It’s okay, dear. I’m going to heal our body. Number One forced her way out to stop Number Six because she was going too far. Number Six is very blunt, but I’ll explain so you don’t misunderstand," Number Seven said while healing her own injured body.
Dennis couldn’t find the words and simply nodded. Then, Daisy Number Seven explained everything. Besides the primary, Number One, and herself, Number Seven, the others had only recently started coming out and wanting to be with Dennis because they saw a shift in him—not just his physical transformation, but his attitude.
Truthfully, it wasn’t that they didn’t love him or that they hated him; they were frustrated and confused seeing Dennis so broken, so weak as a man, and acting so inferior in front of them. This hurt them deeply because each of them held strong personal principles. To cope, they chose to keep themselves busy outside the house and stayed tucked away while at home because they felt powerless to help him if they came out.
Dennis listened, his heart still pounding. The red aura of his blood lust had completely vanished, but he was left with a mess of emotions: guilt over his past life, remorse for hurting Number One, and a flicker of anger over why none of the Daisies had ever communicated their struggles to him, even though seven different people shared that one body.
Dennis looked closely at the face of Daisy Number Seven, who seemed sincere and honest, with no hidden agenda as she spoke to him—even though Number Six’s words still echoed clearly in his ears. Then he looked at his chest, touching the blood Daisy had coughed up onto him. He couldn’t deny that he had hurt his wife.
Seeing the look on Dennis’s face, Daisy Number Seven moved one hand from her own chest to stroke his cheek, making him flinch.
"I, along with Number One through Number Six, are all the same, dear. We have all loved you from the start. It’s just that Number Two through Six didn’t know how to express it to you. What Number Six did just now... she wanted to convince you that she really is sorry and that she truly loves you. She only knows violence, and that is how she communicates. Please, try to understand," Number Seven said.
"But... why did Number One come out? She’s... the weakest among you... I... I hurt her," Dennis said.
"She came out to stop Number Six and... you. Just look around," Daisy Number Seven replied.
Dennis looked around. He only just realized that the entire beach was trashed because he had unleashed his blood lust energy. Naturally, his guilt deepened; he had only been thinking about survival after being attacked by the incredibly powerful Daisy Number Six. But Daisy Number Seven reached out, cupping his cheek and turning his face back toward her smiling expression.
"It’s okay, dear. Don’t feel guilty. I... we... are just as much to blame. So, if we have to pay for the damages, we’ll handle it together, because we’re a team, right?" Daisy Number Seven said.
"I’m sorry... I’ve really let you down this past year... all of you," Dennis said, bowing his head as tears began to fall.
"We all understand what happened to you, dear. We don’t blame you at all. Even if some of us called you pathetic, it was only because we wanted you to stand back up. So please, stay the way you are now; the others and I love seeing you like this. Just don’t misunderstand us again... and please don’t hate... me as a whole. I’m so sorry that Number Six spoke out of turn," Daisy Number Seven said.
"Alright, I understand. I forgive what was said. Please forgive me too... Daisy," Dennis said, weeping.
"I do. I forgive you, dear," Daisy Number Seven replied, smiling as she stroked Dennis’s hair.
They embraced, bathed in the healing light that illuminated the beach in the dark of night. Meanwhile, inside the Council of Daisies, the large table in the center had been pushed aside. In its place stood a large cross, and Number Six was tied to it.
"Okay, now let’s begin the punishment ritual for the troublemaker who made our husband mad at us, put Number One in that state, and got the beach destroyed," Number Two said, pointing toward Number One, who lay on a table behind her, along with Number Three, Number Four, and Number Five.
"Yes, let’s begin," Number Three, Four, and Five replied with smirks on their faces, staring at Number Six hanging there on the cross.
"Ugh... have mercy, I’m sorry," Number Six whimpered in resignation.
