Chapter 104: Retribution And Justice

Dennis slowly laid Daisy back down on the bed, but suddenly he glanced behind him, sensing an attack. He dodged instantly as a blade whizzed past him along with the hand gripping it. He caught the arm, twisted it, and threw Norman back toward the wall, but Norman stuck to the wall and stared at Dennis with a wide grin, his fangs clearly on display. Norman kicked off the wall and lunged toward Dennis, thrusting his knife again toward Dennis’s face with high speed.

Of course, an attack like that had no effect on Dennis. He moved quickly to avoid it, grabbed Norman’s wrist, and pulled. Then—"blam"—he struck Norman’s face once more with his elbow until Norman’s head snapped back. As Norman was reeling, Dennis aimed his palm at him.

"Energy Shackle,"

Energy shaped like tendrils shot from Dennis’s palm, binding Norman’s body as he struggled to break free mid-air. Dennis pulled Norman back in and "carnage," he immediately unleashed a barrage of claws, kicks, knees, elbows, and more. His movements became a blur of blood-red light, darting back and forth as he tore into Norman, who looked unable to breathe, his mouth agape and eyes bulging. Every blow that landed on Norman’s body triggered a small explosion, echoing with the sound of a blast.

When Norman’s body slammed flat onto the floor, his eyes widened to see Dennis already above him, coming down with both feet crushing his chest. "Ahak," Norman spat blood from his mouth; the blood already leaking from his nose began to flow even faster.

"Useless, wasn’t it? Sucking my wife’s blood. Just die," Dennis said.

Immediately, Dennis sat on top of Norman and—"blam... blam... blam"—he punched Norman’s helpless face over and over. When Norman’s hands came up to defend himself, Dennis swatted them away and went back to smashing his face.

[Master, the 15 minutes are almost up... Master, wake up.]

Dennis didn’t hear Sami’s warning. He was completely consumed by rage, no longer seeing the timer counting down. Everything stored deep inside him—what Norman did to his biological mother, the fact that he was sold and held in an underground dungeon for months, Norman’s cruelty toward Daisy’s sister and then toward Daisy herself, and the way Norman had once beaten him until he was cross-eyed—all of it was channeled into his fists, which exploded every time they landed on Norman’s mangled face.

Even so, Norman was still strong and hadn’t passed out. He raised his arms and crossed them in front of his face, making Dennis pause, though he still looked livid.

"Stop... stop... don’t do this... you’re my son. I shouldn’t have abandoned you. I’m sorry. I want to build a father-son relationship with you now," Norman said, his voice trembling.

"What... did you... say?" Dennis asked, his blood-stained fist shaking as he spoke.

"Blood is blood, right... of course, blood is thicker than water. We’re family... we shouldn’t be trying to kill each other like this, son," Norman added, offering a friendly smile.

Hearing Norman say the word "family," combined with seeing that fatherly look on his face and hearing him call him "son," only made Dennis’s blood boil even more. His teeth began to grind and his eyes narrowed, making the red lightning in his gaze explode more violently than before.

"Die, you bastard!" Dennis screamed.

His fist immediately lunged back toward Norman’s face, which was already covered in bruises and welts. Norman could only cross his arms in front of his face, resigned to his fate. "Blam," "crack," both of Norman’s arms shattered, and then Dennis’s fist landed on Norman’s face again. Dennis continued to beat Norman without mercy or pity.

"Where were you when Mama was in deep debt and sold me... where were you when I was held captive on that island... oh yeah... you were playing family with Daisy’s family... then you killed Daisy’s sister and abused Daisy... you also almost killed Daisy and my mother-in-law... and now you say you and I are family... just die," Dennis screamed while he kept punching, tears streaming down his face from the intense emotion.

"You... ungrateful... brat," Norman said slowly.

"You’re the ungrateful one, old man! Daisy is my family, my foster father and foster mother are my family, my in-laws are my family... you are nobody," Dennis yelled.

Finally, Dennis lost consciousness and drowned in his berserk state. His punches became twice as powerful as before, and this time he truly left Norman half-dead and completely helpless, unable to speak anymore. Both of Norman’s hands stopped moving, and if they moved at all, it was only because his face was being hammered by Dennis again. But before Norman could lose his life, someone suddenly grabbed Dennis from behind.

"Stop baby... stop... you’ll kill him if you keep this up," Daisy Number Six shouted, wrapping her arms around Dennis’s back.

"Graaaaah,"

Dennis turned and tried to break free from Daisy Number Six, who stood there lifting him up without letting go at all. Dennis’s fists landed several times on the arms of Daisy Number Six, who continued to lock him down. Meanwhile, every Daisy from Number One to Seven, along with Sami, were screaming in Dennis’s head to snap him back to his senses.

Then Daisy transformed into Daisy Number Seven and released Dennis, but with high speed, she immediately floated up and placed her palm—which was emitting a yellow light—on Dennis’s head to make him calm again. Dennis appeared stunned and his raised hands fell to his sides; his breathing, which had been heavy and frantic, began to steady once more.

His red eyes gradually returned to normal, and then Dennis regained his senses. He immediately turned to look at Daisy Number Seven floating above, then turned to see Norman lying motionless and dying nearby; after that, he looked at his own hands, which were covered in blood.

"Brugh," Dennis fell to his knees because once he snapped out of his berserk state and his emotions cooled, he became weak. Daisy Number Seven floated down and transformed back into Daisy Number One, then hugged Dennis from behind. Dennis’s tears flowed freely as he looked upward; his rage had subsided, and he felt a wave of regret for letting his emotions consume him, yet on the other hand, he felt a sense of relief and peace because the Chapter regarding his origins in his life was now firmly closed.

As his mind began to clear, he immediately turned to look at Daisy with tears still streaming down his face.

"Are you okay, honey?" Dennis asked, gripping both of Daisy’s shoulders.

"I’m okay, honey. Thank you for saving me. If I were alone, even though I could defeat him easily, I might not have been able to face him because of my trauma," Daisy answered, immediately wrapping her arms tightly around Dennis, her body still trembling slightly.

Dennis immediately held Daisy tightly, as if afraid that if he let her go, she would be kidnapped and taken from him again. After hugging for a few moments and stopping their crying, Dennis and Daisy turned to look at Norman, who was still lying stiff and motionless on the blood-covered floor.

"So... what should we do with him?" Dennis asked.

"We call the police and ask them to come here to arrest him again," Daisy answered.

"You... don’t want to get back at him for everything he did to you and your sister?" Dennis asked.

Daisy didn’t answer, but she shook her head. Then she turned to look at Dennis. As he looked at Daisy’s face, he realized it wasn’t that she didn’t want revenge, but she seemed indifferent—as if she no longer cared about the person who had harmed her, as if that man truly meant nothing to her anymore.

"Even if I wanted revenge, I wouldn’t want to kill him. I want him to live and serve his sentence for what he’s done. If he dies, it’s too easy. So let him be miserable while we stay happy, right? And what about you? No matter what, he’s your father, isn’t he?" Daisy said with a smile.

"Huh... he’s not my father, so there’s no problem for me. My father is still William, who was always there for me. Biology doesn’t make that damn old man my father," Dennis replied, smiling as he wrapped his arms around Daisy’s waist as she stood in front of him.

"Good, I’m glad to hear that," Daisy replied, placing both hands on Dennis’s chest and smiling.

"You are truly strong, honey. I’m falling in love with you all over again," Dennis said, smiling as he looked at Daisy.

"Hehe... thanks. You’re strong too, and of course, I will always love you," Daisy replied, looking at Dennis with a smile.

Dennis leaned down, bringing his face close to Daisy’s as she stood on her toes to meet him. But just as their lips were about to touch,

[Ahem. Master and Mistress, I have contacted the emergency number using Master’s smartphone, and they are now on their way here.]

"Haaah... yeah, thanks Sami. Perfect timing, isn’t it?" Dennis and Daisy said, their kiss interrupted.

[You are welcome, Master and Mistress. Happy to be of help.]

Then Dennis and Daisy opened the door and went upstairs to wait for the police, walking with their arms wrapped around each other.
