"Not to sound like a broken record here, but this is quite fun~! Quite challenging~! Who would have thought this would be such a treat? I was expecting some rather bland fights, but this..!"

Mom was brimming with excitement once again, her grin and inability to remain still making me wonder if she was a child instead of the rather 'old' futanari I had come to know over the years, though I suppose that this was on course with what I knew of her...

She was always like this to varying degrees when it came to fighting, and with how she took on the rest of her rather serious life in such a languid and unbothered way I guess this made a whole lot of sense, but still...

Especially now that we were staring down two very dangerous looking 'monsters' that had me questioning the fairness of this Trial; how we could go from a somewhat challenging and threatening - when taken on in a group - Chimera that relied on its overwhelming lightning to what was in front of us was very... questionable.

Even more so since the two monsters in question were giant, human animal hybrids that looked more like the extreme of the Beastkin then they did monsters; on the left we had a twelve foot tall, slender, dog headed woman with fur sprouting out from her forearms, back, legs and sternum, standing there like some depiction of a Goddess that was found on the ruin walls of an ancient temple.

Black skinned and red furred, she was like some sort of hellish werewolf stuck between its two forms, with her elongated snout leaking out ash and embers as she breathed heavily while her freakishly long fingers were securely curled around a golden spear that was just as tall as her.

The golden threads that were draped over her seemingly malnourished figure glimmered with arcane might, concealing her body and offering some protection from attacks - I assumed, anyways, since anything gold that looked magic usually had good enchantments on it - while the red fur sparked similar to Leone's hair.

This was a Fire Mana enhanced monster, so it was only natural that the peer it brought with it was of the Water Mana variety, and to keep to the color scheme and overall style that this designer seemed to be going for, her peer was just as divinely monstrous as she was.

Far taller and definitely more bulky, the nearly twenty foot tall woman beside her was black skinned too, though the blue scales and serpentine head contrasted the heat of the feral dog who was currently snarling at us and twitching, like she was held back by a leash.

Perhaps she was since the Serpent Goddess loosely held a cold silver whip by her side with serrated blades glittering across its length; in her other hand she let a short spear tap against the sands as she stared at us, her slitted eyes narrowing while a long purple tongue flicked out across the air.

The smaller Dog Goddess waited for her larger partner to give the order, and both were watching us closely, just like the Chimera had been before; it was just that this time it felt more... deliberate, more like a bait for us to act first.

That Serpent Goddess in particular was staring at us with far too much interest and what felt like intelligence as she waited for the moment to unleash the feral pup beside her; the looseness of her posture and the nonchalant attitude was worrying, to say the least.

Both were waiting, but the patience of the Dog Goddess was wearing thin as she continued to snarl and twitch, making Mom chuckle as she murmured "She's kinda cute... reminds me of you a little, back when you got your first taste of blood...", which made me raise a brow as I glanced at her.

"I was nothing like that, thank you. Now, are we fighting together as four or as two?"

"No, you were very much like this, you just thought you could hide it. Same way Jahi thought she could hide what you were doing that week after your first time. You were rather... obvious with the yearning to kill things..."

I repeated the question "Are we fighting together as four or as two?", making her laugh before she just stepped to the side and pointed her blade at the Serpent Goddess, who finally reacted as she raised her short spear in reply.

"Draka, support me and stay in the back. I'll handle her to the best of my abilities. As for you two, have fun with the feral, ravenous dog. Try not to get bit; I imagine she has rabies or something..."

As the Demoness walked off to the side - with the Dragonkin hesitantly following her and leaving the comfort of the larger group we already had - the Serpent Goddess seemed to understand the challenge, and although she turned to glance down at the bristling Dog Goddess with what seemed like contemplation, all that happened was a split from them as well.

The towering black and blue Serpent Goddess took her silver whip and short spear and made her way over towards one side of the enclosed circle we needed to remain in, and upon her hiss the Dog Goddess let out an excited yip as she curled her lips at Leone and I in what looked like a smile.

"Fire on fire... how quaint. I suppose the strategy that we concocted for the Chimera works better here, at least I would hope. Be careful, take on a more reactive style and make use of the spells I unleash to attack, alright?"

The Vampire gave me quick and firm orders as we were left on our own against the Dog Goddess, and after giving her a quick nod I swiftly went through my typical opening spells, coating myself in frigid water before freezing my weapons over as I stepped forwards, close enough to draw most of the Dog Goddess' attention.

Immediately that heavy golden spear lunged for my skull, but before it could find its desired target I was already spinning away, opening up a lane for Leone as she hurled a lance of her own at the Dog Goddess' spear.

Our battle was started right away thanks to the overly energetic enemy we faced, but on the other side they were still in a staring contest, with a giant black and blue woman staring down at a 'smaller' blue woman... and something like understanding flashed through their eyes.

My opponent wasn't keen on me looking away from her though, so I had to focus entirely on that golden spear and the flash of red fur as she lunged at me with a growl, attempting to skewer me before releasing a wave of scalding ash with a single bark.
