My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 22: Stink You to Death_1
"Hmmph." She’s clearly gloating. "What’s that scent, where’s it coming from?"
"I think it’s from these flowers someone just sent over," Ye Lu suggested right away.
Shang Jingchen frowned and waved his hand dismissively. "Toss them out."
"Alright, alright," Ye Lu nodded vehemently. Then, her eyes surreptitiously scanned the room, filled with baskets of flowers. "What about these flowers, then? It seems like you’re allergic to the scent of flowers. Having so many of them in a hospital room can be rather overpowering."
"Toss them all out." He casually signaled.
Ye Lu could barely hide her elation, though she tried not to show it on her face.
"I’ll get someone to handle it right away." She hurriedly dashed out to the corridor and dialed a number on her phone, grinning from ear to ear. "Concubine Aoxue, we can make some money!!! I have dozens of baskets of high-grade fresh flowers here. If we sell them, we’d effortlessly make thousands. Hurry, get a small truck!"
Feng Aoxue was her close friend with a shared love for making money. The two got acquainted through their shared passion for entrepreneurship, and ever since meeting, they’ve had a ’Great Minds think alike’ kind of connection.
They even formed a duo specifically to make money. Whenever there was an opportunity, they’d collaborate.
Unlike Ye Lu, Aoxue is not poor at all, she’s a rich kid who spends money like water.
One day she had an epiphany, that spending money was too boring, and earning it was much more fun. So she had a change of heart and resolved to earn her own money, not rely on her family’s wealth, and make her first entrepreneurial fund before graduating.
"A thousand bucks? Who’ve you schemed this time, my queen? Hahaha, splendid! Give me your location and I’ll head straight over,"
After Ye Lu provided the address, she felt a surge of satisfaction. Hahaha, a thousand bucks just like that, this was fantastic!
Then she rushed back into the hospital room, excitedly moving the baskets of flowers out.
Shang Jingchen raised his eyebrows as he watched her scurry around the room like a busy little ant.
"You could’ve asked a hospital janitor to help move it, why are you running around like this!"
"Why bother them when I can do it myself and get a bit of exercise?"
Ye Lu, with a huge grin that she couldn’t hide, very diligently started moving the basket of flowers that was almost as tall as she was.
Shang Jingchen grew suspicious. This woman usually hates exerting any effort, but here she was, getting all excited about moving flowers. Something was off!
Unable to resist, he picked up one of the baskets from the table and scrutinized the inside.
His gaze then fell on a greeting card inside the basket, sprinkled with a few drops of black perfume.
He brought it up to his nose, and a strong, pungent scent hit him immediately, causing him to sneeze violently several times.
So, that’s what it was. This damn woman.
"Ye Lu, get your ass back here!" A roar erupted from the hospital room, making even the bodyguards outside shudder.
My goodness, such a terrifying force in his voice. That girl must really be something to anger him to such an extent.
But by then Ye Lu had already left with the flowers, to go make money.
After quickly selling the flowers and pocketing the profits, her mood was immensely lightened.
Ye Lu and Feng Aoxue went to a café to unwind.
"What have you been up to lately? You’ve been so busy that you’ve virtually vanished."
"What else but breaking my back for money. My dad’s company almost went under recently, luckily it’s weathered the storm, or I wouldn’t have known what to do," Ye Lu sighed and sipped her hot coffee.
It feels like despite being tormented every day by that jerk Shang Jingchen, he did give them the ten million, which saved her family from disaster. She can’t help but feel a little grateful to him.
"If it were me, I would advise shutting down your dad’s struggling business instead of pouring more money into it," Aoxue shared.
"I tried persuading him to give up. But he’s extremely stubborn and it represents years of his hard work, you can’t measure that in money. He’s always been so good to our family; it’s too much to ask for."
