My Scales Can Make Equivalent Exchange-Chapter 54 - Tasks
Chapter 54: 54 Tasks
Chapter 54: 54 Tasks
Most of the First Grade Spells are available in the branches of Scripture Pavilion of various spiritual force sects, and seldom did anyone need to go to the headquarters to get them.
Wang Zijia originally wanted to see more of Inheritance Peak, but his experiences today had depressed him somewhat.
He shook his head, cast aside all sorts of complicated thoughts, looked at the sky, and without any delay, hopped onto the Paper Kite and left.
Upon returning to the area belonging to the Qifu Faction, he didn’t immediately get back home nor went to work.
Instead, he went to a grand main building within the complex of buildings.
[Task Hall]
Looking at the massive building of the Task Hall, Wang Zijia stepped in. Among the various spiritual force sects in the Wanyu Sect, the Task Hall was the place that the least faction differences were involved.
It could even be said that it was a main place that united all force sects together into a common strength. Without the existence of the Task Hall, each sect of the Wanyu Sect today would probably be more scattered.
Entering the hall of the Task Hall, he could see an endless stream of people hastily coming and going.
In the center of the hall, there was a huge screen similar to those in train stations and airports, displaying lines of tasks.
There were several smaller tasks that required the help of disciples from other force sects among disciples within the sect;
There were daily tasks which urgently required the handling by disciples because certain issues had emerged in the areas within the influence of the sect run by mortals;
More critically, dangerous tasks were available which required the presence of powerful law enforcement disciples to eliminate demonic and evil cultivators that had appeared somewhere.
Wang Zijia glanced at it for a moment, then took his eyes off the information. He turned and went to the counters at one side of the hall.
“Young fellow, is there any task that you need advice on?” An middle-aged man behind a counter looked at Wang Zijia who had walked forward and started talking.
“The tasks that I can view on my identity card are only some small tasks within the Sect, and I would like to see some others.” Wang Zijia looked at him once and stated his purpose directly.
“Young fellow, you’ve just started your new job, right?” The man asked, smiling, upon hearing what he said.
Wang Zijia nodded, and the man continued, “What’s your position? I mean, what kind of job are you doing?
“I’ve been assigned to do some teaching.” Wang Zijia responded.
Hearing him, the middle-aged man showed an even warmer smile and said, “Well, young man, you only need to wait patiently for a month or so. The information on your identity card will be updated, and the teaching-related tasks for the sect will show up. Even some basic tasks from the Scripture Pavilion will be available for you from time to time.”
“The delay of one month is not because the process is slow but to give you some time to get familiar with your new position. It’s for avoiding disputes arising from taking on relevant tasks when you’re not familiar enough with the job.”
Hearing him, Wang Zijia nodded, and then continued, “What about the tasks related to the Law Enforcement Team?”
“Ah…” The middle-aged man’s smile froze, and he stammered, “Young fellow, are you thinking of taking on tasks related to the Law Enforcement Team?”
Wang Zijia nodded and the man added, “Are you talking about the teaching of spells? That’s not possible. They need high-intensity combat training. There’re several sects in the Dao Law Court specifically for that.”
“Nope. I’m talking about those tasks of the Demon Exorcising type.” Wang Zijia replied, his face expressionless.
“Ah…” Again, the middle-aged man looked puzzled. It was obviously rare for him to come across such a scenario, even after many years at his job. After a long pause, he looked at Wang Zijia’s young face and said, “Young man, you really live up to our reputation as talents.”

“But if you really have your heart set on it, it would be better for you to pay more attention to your teaching work. After all, doing a good job in logistics also counts as making a contribution,” the middle-aged man looked at Wang Xiaojie and advised, “For those types of Demon Exorcising tasks, neither the evil cultivators who do harm to others, nor the evil cultivators that are possessed by devils, could be handled by beginners who have just joined the sect. Even those from the Law Enforcement Team need to be at least of Advanced Pupil level to be dispatched, and must pass a series of tests.”
“I understand the priorities.” Wang Zijia nodded and said, “Brother, please bring up the relevant tasks for me. I mainly want to look at those related to logistics work, such as handling corpses, cleaning up battlefields, and so on.”
Exactly, Wang Zijia got addicted to collecting corpses.
Cultivation and Technique Manuals could be obtained quickly through various means. For skill cultivation, so far he only knew that it could be enhanced quickly through dealing with pollution.
“Is it? Young fellow, you indeed have passion. But there are not many people specialized in this. Those in the Law Enforcement Team mostly deal with it as a part of their mission, and the related work is handled in turns or by newcomers afterwards,” the middle-aged man said while he dialed up the pertinent information.
He made several gestures and handed Wang Zijia a card made of White Jade. It was palm-sized and resembled the all-glass mobile phones in his previous life.
Having been accustomed to the array screen in the sect over the past dozen days, Wang Zijia was now adept at navigating it.
Sometime later, Wang Zijia gradually frowned.
Just as the middle-aged man had said, there weren’t many tasks specifically assigned to handle the matter.
Almost all were Demon Exorcising tasks. There weren’t any tasks specifically created for handling corpses. It seemed that the relevant personnel in the team would take care of it after the tasks were done.
Sometimes when special handling was needed, it would be marked specially, with most of them requiring the appearance of a mortician from Inheritance Peak. Apparently, it was extremely dangerous.
As for going out on missions with the team, Wang Zijia couldn’t help but recall the unfortunate cookies in the law enforcement team that day who had been trampled into a blood mist by the “War Stomping” of the goat headed monster during the big battle.
He just wanted to pick up some bargains, and didn’t want to get involved with risking his life. At least with his current cultivation, he wasn’t thinking about it yet.
While immersed in these thoughts, Wang Zijia was patiently scrolling through the tasks.
After all, with so many tasks, there might well be some strange requirements.
Last time in the suburbs of Wanyu City, the guardian of Warden Manor, wasn’t he also fulfilling a related task?
He was just an Advanced Pupil. Although his cultivation was not considered low, he wasn’t a mortician, nor was he from the Law Enforcement Team.
Eventually, after a long time, Wang Zijia found a task where he could pick up some lower-priced things.
