Chapter 992: Chapter 992: Murderous Intent Surging

Poison Butterfly and the others glared menacingly, closing in with force.

The military camp was tense and chaotic.

"They’re attacking, the Wild Alliance people are attacking." Two warriors ran panicked to Michael, reporting sorrowfully.

"What? The Wild Alliance is attacking, how is this possible?" Michael was thrown into disarray. He had just switched sides; his seat was barely warm before encountering such trouble. Unlucky to the extreme.

"How could the Wild Alliance possibly attack, it doesn’t make sense. Could it be they’re here to scout news of Wild Alliance Headquarters being destroyed? Yes, it must be that. There’s no other possibility. Wild Alliance Headquarters was destroyed right before my eyes. If they don’t ask me, who would they ask? How tragic, just as Mr. Ye and Nami relied on me heavily, Mr. Ye and Nami died. I became a lonely soul without support. That’s not all; one wrong move and those Wild Alliance folks will surely slaughter me to vent their anger."

"Who doesn’t know, those Wild Alliance guys are all desperate fighters."

"What should I do, what should I do? What on earth should I do?"

"If I stand with Kasam’s camp and resist firmly, I’ll have a terrible ending, bound to die at the Wild Alliance’s hands."

"If I talk to the Wild Alliance, maybe I can resolve this crisis as long as I explain the problem clearly. Even if Kasam is displeased with me, he won’t do anything outrageous."

"Right, I’ll do just that." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Michael had countless worries and finally made a decision after much deliberation.

He ordered coldly, "Everyone calm down, put away your guns to avoid any unnecessary trouble."

"Yes, yes, communicating your order right away." Several subordinates hurried to relay orders to various troop units.

Michael moved with heavy but swift steps, heading towards the Wild Alliance camp.

Poison Butterfly and a few leaders stood proudly at the front gate of the military camp, full of vigor and completely ignoring threats from within the camp. Firstly, they were confident, and secondly, the Wild Alliance members came prepared and were absolutely not a match for those inside the camp.

"How about we just storm in, waiting here is worthless. Michael is probably scared stiff and won’t come out. If he hides inside with warriors for protection, it adds some assurance. Once outside, he’s at our mercy. Would Michael dare come out in such a situation?"

"Carve a path of blood, scare them a bit; this mob will scatter and won’t resist us at all."

"This emergency force was meant to assist Wild Alliance Headquarters against the enemy, which is true, but their combat power is average, nothing to fear."

"Getting Michael to come out willingly, that’s tough."

"We need to gun right up to Michael and capture him alive for a thorough interrogation."

The few leaders spoke with overwhelming battle intent and assertiveness.

"Stay calm and wait; if Michael has any sense, he’ll come out willingly. After all, surrounding Kasam’s camp isn’t a justified act. We must be cautious to avoid unnecessary strife; after all, we’re still allies with Kasam." Poison Butterfly didn’t lose reason by blindly attacking; rash actions aren’t worth it.

Soon, the warriors before Poison Butterfly withdrew, even putting away their weapons.

Michael squeezed past the bewildered warriors and ran out alone.

Wild Alliance members cleared a path, exposing Poison Butterfly and the few leaders right in front of Michael.

"What’s going on, gentlemen?" Michael asked bitterly, full of emotions. Once, he was Yahward’s second-in-command; now he had to be cautious and respectful even before regional leaders of the Wild Alliance.

Times have changed, especially before the Wild Alliance; he couldn’t put on airs.

"You’re the highest officer of this emergency force, called to discuss some matters. You have self-awareness; otherwise, we’d have stormed right in." Poison Butterfly said indifferently.

"I know what you want to ask. Alas, you can’t be so reckless, Wild Alliance and Kasam are still allies, that hasn’t changed. Surrounding Kasam’s camp is tearing up ally agreements, an unrighteous action that could easily draw criticism." Michael advised earnestly.

"Stop talking nonsense. We’ve surrounded the camp; what can Kasam do to my Wild Alliance?" A leader said arrogantly, without regard for Kasam.

As for Michael, a former enemy’s second-in-command, they harbored no goodwill, only disdain and hostility.

Michael was aware of this, positioning himself properly, daring not act out of line.

Currently, the Wild Alliance leaders locked the highest suspicion for Wild Alliance Headquarters’s destruction on Kasam, naturally having a poor attitude towards him. Were Kasam responsible, ignoring ally relations, they’d surround Kasam’s mansion, not just a small military camp.

"Yes, anyone with common sense would see Kasam is the prime suspect for Wild Alliance Headquarters’s destruction. Given this rift, Wild Alliance wouldn’t care who Kasam is." Michael thought complexly.

Poison Butterfly directly asked, "We forced you here with a few questions. Please speak without holding back; otherwise, our brothers’ gunfire might be unkind, and if you’re shot full of holes, that won’t be pretty."

"Mr. Ye and Miss Nami gave me my current position. My admiration and reverence for Mr. Ye are unknown to you. I know what you want to ask. Wild Alliance Headquarters was hit by sudden fighter jet attacks, caught completely off-guard. In moments, the stronghold became ruins; you know what the stronghold became, I needn’t say more."

"I don’t know much. At that time, I went numb; everyone in the camp did as well."

"After the strike, Kasam called me, telling me to collect bodies then give them proper burial. But where are the bodies for a proper burial? There were only mutilated remains, impossible to collect."

"I don’t know who ordered fighter jet attacks on Wild Alliance Headquarters. But Kasam being the culprit is highly likely; it’s just my suspicion and judgment without concrete evidence."

Michael was refreshingly straightforward, sharing all he knew without hiding anything.

"Right after the strike, Kasam gave burial orders, truly caring, huh? Hmph, I think Kasam’s more likely gone mad, daring to strike Wild Alliance. In which case, don’t blame us for being unkind."

"Better off capturing Kasam then doing some personal interrogation." Poison Butterfly said murderously.
