Members of the Wild Alliance were cleaning the battlefield, clearing the debris.

Laura's army was stationed outside the stronghold.

Accompanied by several guards, Laura escorted the tightly bound Michael into the stronghold.

"Esteemed Mr. Ye, Miss Nami..." Laura greeted Ye Fan, Nami, Ku Eryue, and Tie Zhongshi warmly, more enthusiastically than if he had seen his own father.

He was acutely aware of Ye Fan's position in Kasam's eyes, and understood that Nami, Ku Eryue, and Tie Zhongshi were not people to be taken lightly, hence he kept a low profile.

Michael hung his head, listlessly standing off to the side.

"Laura, you arrived just in time, didn't you? No attack earlier or later, only launching an offensive when Michael was about to be defeated. I urged you repeatedly, but you turned a deaf ear, did you even take my orders seriously?" Nami confronted him, full of displeasure and reprimand.

Laura feigned anxiety and unease, recounting the excuses he had prepared long ago, "Miss Nami, you don't know my struggles. When the Hunting Ninth Squad launched an attack on the Emergency Unit, they killed nearly all the officers, causing significant disruptions in troop deployment. It was extremely difficult to unify them. If I didn't have some reputation within the Emergency Unit, it would have been impossible to lead the troops in response to your orders."

"Miss Nami entrusted me with heavy responsibilities amid chaos, and I am deeply grateful. My current position is entirely due to Miss Nami's favor, so I execute her orders to the fullest, without any delay or hesitation."

"Upon receiving Miss Nami's orders, I immediately commanded the troops into action. To prevent any loopholes, I blocked the retreat route, thereby successfully capturing Michael. This was possible thanks to Miss Nami's deep trust in me."

"The credit for capturing Michael goes to the adept command of Miss Nami and the Wild Alliance members who held back Michael's army. Thanks to Mr. Ye's overseeing command, we executed the operation perfectly, without giving Michael a chance to escape."

"To be cautious, I delayed a bit, but fortunately it didn't cause a major disaster, ultimately surrounding the fleeing Michael, allowing us to eliminate all enemies and capture Michael alive."

"Had I not been well-prepared and attacked Michael rashly, it could have been detrimental. If he escaped, the fault would have been mine."

Laura spoke incessantly, cleverly attributing the credits to Nami and Ye Fan, as if he himself had no merit, only cooperating within his duties.

"What a silver tongue you have, your wordplay is impressive. If you had even one percent of the sincerity your words suggest, it would have been good. Do you think I'm blind, unable to see or guess anything?" Nami reprimanded loudly.

"Miss Nami, please calm down. It's all my fault for being ineffective, failing to swiftly take action and causing significant losses to the Wild Alliance members." Laura hurriedly said, "But the only consolation is that Michael didn't escape, so at least I've compensated for my faults."

He didn't boast his accomplishments, but constantly tied his own credits to Nami's criticisms.

Ye Fan raised his hand to halt Nami's further admonishment, speaking calmly: "Laura, right? I suspect you've misunderstood the issue. If I weren't in Ba Country, I wouldn't care what your intentions were, but I'm here in Ba Country, and due to your personal reasons for disobeying orders and playing smart, causing the deaths and injuries of dozens of my Wild Alliance members. Each of them is more valuable to me than your life, so what should your punishment be?"

"What crime have I committed?" Laura pointed at himself, looking more wronged than Dou E, and said: "I fought desperately to capture Michael. Many warriors died too. I genuinely fought with all my might. As for Miss Nami's orders, I wouldn't dare disobey even if I had the courage."

"If you had taken a clear stance and entered the battle immediately, regardless of whether you captured Michael, you would have been a useful person, someone with merit. But instead, you foolishly hoped to strike some deal with Michael, providing no support when he attacked fiercely, clinging to other fantasies, deploying your forces only when Michael was utterly defeated. Your sins are irredeemable, you deserve more than death."

"Those who assist the Wild Alliance, I don't expect them to help much, but I absolutely cannot tolerate treacherous individuals who betray as soon as the situation becomes unbalanced."

"Therefore, you must die."

"Do you think capturing Michael is a grand achievement? You are mistaken; no matter how great your deeds are, they cannot compensate for your actions."

Ye Fan calmly spoke, signaling to Ku Eryue, who handed a pistol over to him.

He grasped the gun, aiming it at Laura's forehead.

"Mr. Ye, spare me. I don't seek any merit, but at least I've committed no major fault. Your accusations are purely speculative, without any evidence. You can't act on random assumptions. I belong to Kasam. Not even Miss Nami can misuse her power against me. You disregard Kasam's dignity, and that brings about bigger issues. Killing me is minor, but smearing Kasam's face is a grave responsibility." Laura was nearly in tears, his heart pounding violently in fear.

Then, he quickly turned his gaze to Nami, pleading: "Miss Nami, you're my direct superior, you must stop Mr. Ye. Even if I'm guilty, Mr. Ye can't resort to private punishment. This would ignore your dignity and utterly disregard Kasam. You can't tolerate such a thing."

Nami glanced at Ye Fan with difficulty, then looked at Laura without saying a word.

Laura was dumbfounded. He understood Ye Fan's prestige in Ba Country but did not expect it to be so high that even Nami ignored it. He was terrified, scared to death, and immediately fell to his knees in front of Ye Fan, begging: "Mr. Ye, please spare me this time. I swear, it won't happen again. If I repeat it, I deserve the worst death."

His forehead knocked on the ground, tears streaming down.

"Someone capable of treachery at any moment is more threatening than a beast. An oath from someone without a shred of integrity is worth nothing." Ye Fan muttered lightly.

Then, the gun in his hand trembled slightly.

A bullet whizzed out.

It directly shot into Laura's forehead.

Laura died in terror and horror.

He died with unclosed eyes.
