Mountains are majestic and insurmountable to people; truly conquering it grants a soul-deep sense of achievement, the feeling of having conquered the mountain. Only then can one relish the exhilaration and grandeur of standing on the pinnacle, overlooking all the cowering mountains. Giving up halfway results in a sense of defeat, having to admit an inability to conquer and being vanquished by the mountain instead of it being just an insensate entity. Even if one is unaware, there lingers a presence of failure." Ye Fan insightfully lectured.

One hour, two hours... four hours passed.

Ye Fan and the others had conquered two peaks, each peak connected to another mountainous range, revealing yet another summit before their eyes.

Along the way, there were temples beside the mountain trails, some had calligraphy and paintings for sale.

There were also some antique-like objects for people to admire.

The higher they climbed, the fewer tourists there were.

Ye Fan, Mengyao, and Lu Xiangxiang sat on the stone steps to drink water and rest; Lu Xiangxiang leaned against the railing, completely exhausted and drenched in sweat.

Mengyao was also covered in fragrant sweat but was not as exhausted as Lu Xiangxiang.
