Chapter 89: Hazel & Damian Vs Ruby & Racheal [1]

The four moved further away from the main building, into a sparsely forested stretch of land on their property, dressed in matching tracksuits as they discussed their strategy in hushed tones.

"I will handle Racheal, you handle Ruby," Hazel said, her expression firm and unyielding.

Racheal?

Damian raised a brow, already prepared to argue over who would face Ruby, because in his mind Hazel would naturally choose the strongest opponent, which he had assumed was Ruby.

"Yes.." Hazel replied dismissively at first, but then she caught the confusion on Damian’s face.

"Don’t tell me you didn’t know?" she asked, genuine surprise lacing her voice.

"Know what?" he replied.

"Racheal is the strongest amongst all of us."

Buzz!

"What?" Damian blurted out, shock rippling through him as his gaze snapped toward the far end of the field where Racheal stood with Ruby.

Ruby looked like she was scolding her, while Racheal wore a teary, almost pitiful expression. Seeing someone so defenseless, so fragile, how could he believe she was the most dangerous among his wives?

That title belonged to someone like Ruby... or Hazel.

"I’m telling you," Hazel continued. "There was this one time the Prince of Greed staged an ambush for Lin, but he survived. When the demon nobles under him heard that Racheal would personally come to repay the wound inflicted on her husband, most of them committed suicide. They would rather die by their own hands than let Racheal kill them herself, because they knew it would be a long, painful process. Stories of what happened to a Duke of Hell who dared confront her with his thirty-four legions are still used in the underworld as horror tales for children."

Buzz!

Damian’s head snapped back toward Racheal, his eyes widening with genuine disbelief. The person Hazel described was nothing like the gentle, harmless woman he had spent the most private time with since the arrival of all three wives.

"Okay, okay... it doesn’t matter. I wanted to fight Ruby anyway," Damian said, brushing it off, unwilling to dwell on the thought.

Hazel suddenly grabbed his shoulder, forcing him to meet her gaze before she spoke again.

"Ruby is the queen of the Negan demon race. You must not take her for granted. Remember, this spar determines how much time I get to spend with you. We must lose!"

Seeing the fire burning in her eyes, Damian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The entire situation was so intense that even his usually lazy bones stirred with excitement, his blood beginning to boil.

"Don’t worry. I won’t let them take you away from me." He took her hands and gently pecked her forehead.

"Fowl! No physical contact amongst teammates!"

Ruby’s voice rang out sharply from across the battlefield. Even if she was busy bullying her husband, she wasn’t about to let Hazel use this as an excuse to steal his affection.

"What kind of rule is that?!" Hazel shot back instantly.

"The kind that keeps your paws off my man!"

"Paws? Girl, I have claws!"

The trash talk escalated between both sides, tension building until all four of them slipped into their fighting stances, locking eyes with one another.

Begin!

Just as they were about to move, a quiet voice cut cleanly through the air, and the battlefield fell silent like a graveyard.

"No one moves."

Buzz!

Damian’s eyes dilated in shock as he tried to move, but his body refused to obey. It was as if he had turned into stone, stiff and unresponsive. His human and demonic hearts felt like they had both stopped beating the moment her voice touched him.

’Isnf that a bit too much?’ Damian shuddered inwardly as he read the description.

At that moment, he finally understood what Hazel meant when she said Racheal was the most terrifying among them.

’Don’t worry, her grip can be broken. Urge your demon heart and use your demonic blood to purge her control from within!’ Hazel’s calm yet decisive voice echoed in his mind.

Without hesitation, Damian turned inward. It felt as though his entire body had been sealed inside a block of ice, heavy and immovable. He couldn’t even feel the rhythm of his own heartbeat.

Still, he pushed.

He forced his will deeper, urging his demonic power with everything he had. Each attempt sent faint ripples through his frozen body, like cracks forming beneath the surface.

It was coming from his demonic heart.

Meanwhile, Racheal stepped forward lightly, almost playfully, her hands clasped behind her back and her expression calm.

"I really hate fighting. Especially family. Let’s end this without conflict," she said softly as she approached Damian and Hazel.

"Bitch... ALERT... ME FIRST."

Ruby’s eyes burned with an emerald glow as she struggled to force the words out of her stiff lips.

"My apologies, but if you knew, Hazel would know. Everyone would prepare against me, and we would end up with a long, messy fight. I needed you standing by my side so she wouldn’t suspect I would use that skill," Racheal replied with a small shrug.

Her tone carried an unusual lightness, almost cheerful, and there was a subtle bounce in her steps. In mere seconds, she stood before Damian, her hand rising to gently caress his face.

"I’m sorry, honey bun, but I don’t want to see you get hurt. I will make sure you don’t get more than two hours of training a day while on vacation, I just need you to concede for me. Can you do that?"

She leaned in slowly, seductively, one hand trailing from his cheek to his jaw, then down his neck to his chest, while the other slipped behind his head, gently guiding him closer until their lips hovered just an inch apart.

"Give up and Mommy will give you a nice present, in private," she whispered, her warm breath brushing softly against his face.
